guess noone of you ever played the real arma with a viewing distance of 10000 ? right ? its there for a reason ... so if you fly a jet you actually can see something ... in dayz i feel more like the max is around 3000 .... so yea... it is weather dependent but stll .... 90% of the time its just foggy as fuck ... -

€: fixed my original post to these changes :) ^^ also a general question to those complaining about "stuff which you COULD do" ... what is your endgame ? running around getting shot and then starting over again ? most people want to show theyre power and this , I think, could be done best with stuff they can build to show it other players becase the current endgame is .. having some tents with some cars and a heli somewere in the nothingness of a forest and going out to hunt people down .. once you have every gun there is little left to do for you .. €2: *wink at WOW daily quests + achievements + pets etc) people really spend alot of time for something like that .. believe it or not .. (in COD its unlocking new weapon camos etc in bf3 dogtags+weapon parts) ... for a game to be enjoyable for a long time there have to be (micro)achievements / stuff to do ... and this way it might seem useless to have a big-ass useless tent right on some farmland with a heavy fortification but still there will be some players grouping up .. building these things .. and other players attaking them ... so this way you might just make the way to a whole new level of endgame experience were its not about fighting Z over and over but to build that base and defending it €:3 also i would think players would become much more creative ... if i had such a base and was bored .. i would just pull out an AS 50 and shoot a mag into the air trying to get as many Z as i can to kill :) ^^ also this would (i think) somewhat regulate the problem of bored bandits killing newbs etc (which in some cases is the loss of a player bcs he gets pissed at the game) just think about WOW in this case ... endgame is 90% PvP / caracter building .... once you are lvl 85 there are no more lvl areas to go to .. still you could do but it gets boring really quick .. thats why there is PvP / achievements .. the current issue in DayZ is just that pvp is so heavyly imbalanced beeing that bandits just kill everything etc ... ofc bandits still can do the same after they have build theyre bases but still i think it would atleast keep them busy for some time ... and in that time you have to prepare the next thing for them to do .... and this way you keep having a regular playerbase / trusted players ... its why there are DLC's for games ... it gives them new stuff to do when theyve done everything ... but i'm getting Off topic i think .. lol ^^ bumpity -
your vision doesnt blur in RL either ... so why have some crazy ass BF3 effects when youre already in trouble enuth ... there is a reason its in BF3 not in arma ... in bf3 you can always see your enemy pretty fast and so react to that ,,, in arma though its often that you cant see who / were from these shots came from .. so unless he's right behind you , you are in enuth trouble already... .. no need to make it harder than real life .... the stress level is there.... also most people just ALT + F4 anyways (even if "patched")

1. an underground storage .. Needed: 2tents + 1 metal parts + 2 piles of wood + 2x2m of space (not buildable in houses / on roads etc) What it does: ... its a storage like a tent but "underground" so all you can see is like a small hatch on the ground with some leaves (wich might have a bright orange /red/brown colour to still be able to find it) it shouldnt have more storage than a tent because its major + should be the "invisibility" (you could just lower this model until only the top net is watching out .. or you use an desk or something and do the same ;) ) 2. alarm system Needed: 1 barbed wire + (smoke) grenade (/ flare / m203 flare) What it does: .. it's just a wire between some poles which you can set up like the usual barbed wire but if someone passes throu it a (smoke) nade (/flare) will go off attracting Zombies or even harming the player .. (the wire would have to be visible ofc) (cant be "disabled" other than by the builder himself) 3. parking lot /camo net Needed: 20 wood + 20 metal parts + 3 tents+ a shovel + 5 tank barriers +20 tin cans (there for a reason) + 10x10m of space What it does: only there u can save your vehicle and if you cant do it, it will respawn as a damaged vehicle after 48 hours (even if used within that time (counting from first drive / the point its able to drive) .. this would decrease vehicle hording and still keep a good amount of cars for the player aviable to repair ... 4. SIgns Needed: 1 pile of wood + metal parts What it does: its just a sign ... you cant write on it .. but still you could use it as a waypoint (other players sometimes see markings on the map so this could be safer) 5 military tents Needed: 3 tents + 5 metal parts + 10 tin cans + 15x15m of space (cant be build near citys / villages though at castles etc) What it does: no zombies will spawn within 100m. and it could have 200 itemslots to save stuff ... (couldnt find a pic of the "not medical" tent ^^ 6. sand"bag" wall Needed: 2 sandbags + shovel + 1metal parts.. What it does: its a 2m high sandbag wall .. same length as the usual but you cant climb over it (can be debuild but takes some minutes (after animation) to dissapear) 7. military fencing .. Needed: 3 wire fences (combine) what it does: just the military fencing you sometimes see (can be debuild but takes some minutews (after animation) to dissapear) all this would make up for quite some basebuilding fun ^^ €: to build you would need the toolbox and 2 of the main items (like for example the big tent would be 2 tents) you can set up a "building zone" were you then have to go andhave to bring item after item. (like fixing a car) it would be in the toolbelt ofc and could be found in stores etc. €2: fixed some obvious stuff which i didnt think off :) ^^ Feedback is always welcome ^^ :) ... if i get new ideas ill edit this ;)

Ive played ~100 hrs now ... and i saw a bus ..... its just stupid ... on 99% of the servers all cars / vehicles are already taken away... maybe a solution would be to have to build a "parking lot" in order to save a vehicle from respawning... like .. you would have to build one . and only there u can save your vehicle and if you cant do it it will respawn as a damaged vehicle after 48 hours .. the thing would be that it has to be a pain in the a** to build such a thing .. like you would need 20 wood + 20 metal parts + 3 tents+ a shovel + 5 tank barriers +20 empty cans (there for a reason)... that way the hording would have atleast a downfall i think ... still there would be players hording it .. but bandits really would have a punch .. because .. which survivor would carry empty cans with them the first time going into a city ... . it would be a win/win i think .... more possible car spawns ... cars get even more valuable and bandits might have to enter a city themselves to find what they need yes i know there still could be like a gang of 20+ bandits lurking around elektro and shooting anyone whos going out .. but against these large groups you cant have an impact ... just avoid clanservers .. there u always just get raped
