I think this is the second most fun thing in the game for me right now. So don't get discouraged that you can't take them with you. Once you get one car (faster road vehicle) it's loads easier to look for other vehicles.

AS50 all day baby. I just hate the noise off the M107, it sounds like it's shooting out of a tin can. The DMR is nice, but I dunno, I go with the M14 for the inbetween. EDIT: I will stand firm on the AS50, we took out a chopper with two (it's what they're designed for).

Actually, it could be a desynch issue. It can take items up to 10 minutes to fully spawn in a location.

Bandage yourself. Log off for a bit. Go to a lower pop server, eat lots of steak to get your blood up :)

Chickens are found in smaller towns, rabbits are everywhere. Goats, sheep and cows in open fields and pigs are in forests.

When you log back in, on the bottom right underneath Chenarus it will say a second location, that is where you are. It only splashes the screen for a few seconds.

I agree with the daydb map. Also loading your game via DayZ Commander vs 6 launcher. that way you can be a little mor specific on where you go. Stick to lower pop servers, try to get yourself a compass/map/watch asap. Waypoints on servers can be REALLY helpful when first learning your way around the map (especially when scouting for deer blinds, avoiding certain hot spots. AKM is an amazing starter rifle, makes very little noise and you can just pray and spray, it does have iron sights though. Hold down alt to look left and right while still moving forward.

Have you seen the movie 28 days later? That's kinda what this world is like. These "zombies" are actually infected people, they are intelligent (open doors, run fast, climb ladders) and aggro can only be dropped by line of sight. You need to go through buildings with an entrance and exit, or drop prone after going behind a couple of walls/bushes yadda yadda. The eye and ear on the side of your screen let you know how much you can be seen and heard by them. The handgun nerf was done in Arma and is going to be addressed or so I hear for this mod DayZ, which uses Arma's engine. Hit up the grocery store, apartment buildings, the school house, deer blinds.

You're going to die. A lot. Look for lower pop servers. Get to a grocery store (sometimes you'll find most of your basic needs there). If you travel through buildings with a front and back door you can LoS the infected. Eat/Drink when flashing. Find morphine. Always keep bandages on you. unless you have friends, don't bother with blood bags or epinephrine. It's supposed to be hard, it's supposed to evoke emotions. People originally started with weapons and never made it off the beach, they just stood there kill each other at spawn. It's a hard learning curve, but once you get it, the survival becomes a lot easier.

I use DayZ Commander to launch, so I can be specific about what I want from a server (including searching for people's names, specific servers etc), in conjunction with DayZmonitor to see recent resets for chopper hunting. We usually have stashes across a few until graph hackers get us or server admins do a double reset because they want the Ural and we're not there to re-save it.

Seems like you've just had a desynch issue or been raiding right after someone has raided. Don't forget to check door stoops, and sheds in residential areas. They can also spawn sodas and food items. Your best bet is steak though, rabbits, chickens, goats, sheep, pigs and cows as they return the most blood per food item.

Maybe it was just my motherly instinct, I felt so bad for the kid. lol.

They're not zombies.. they're infected. Either way, it's a video game, it's not real period. The ghillie suits have rubber boots ffs.. ghillie suits do not have knee high black rubber boots, snipers would individually make them with little tails to go over they bottoms of their feet when laying in prone. Cows don't take 7 bullets and keep on walking, cars don't run over trees, fences, bushes and never need to be fixed, morphine doesn't fix broken legs, small bandages don't fix hemmoraging. Or guns that in RL that would displace so much air the bullets don't even need to hit the person to kill them, may need to hit the person twice. So ultimately, nothing about this game is realistic other than external emotions you interject on it, and those are intense emotions at times, they've created an incredible atmosphere for it.

Well like others have said, you will die.. a lot. To the infected (zeds), to glitches, to other players. So don't get attached to your gear, it's easy (ish) to replace. Get scared, get paranoid, always look over your shoulder. Say you're friendly, sometimes people will believe you, sometimes they won't and will shoot you, or you can shoot them. Just have fun.

Arma 2, Arma 2 AO (I suggest from Steam) then DayZmod. Run each Arma in admin first before installing DayZ. Arma combo DayZ mod DL

Stay off the coast. Google DayZ map. I'd link it but not sure if it's allowed. that will have your points of interest. If you log out and back in again, the second name on the bottom right is where you are located. HATCHETS ARE BOSS in cities on packed servers. run through buildings/alleys (basically LOS the infected *aka zombies*).. You only need to drink/eat when it's flashing. Make sure to bandage when bleeding. Click on your backpack to open bag to put items in it, if you over pack it, the items disappear. Grocery stores are where you want to hit up. :) Don't get attached to your gear. Welcome to DayZ :beans:

Problem: random timer is random (going to lobby for a smoke, computer crashed, alt+f4, no reason at all) Solution a: until zombie aggro is fixed allow players to see they have zombie aggro by maybe having their name flash red Solution b: allow epi-pens to be multi-use 5x? Solution c: allow one in game character reset option until random is random is fixed. Solution d: get rid of timer or only allow it to be for no more than 1 min.
