  1. So since the game bugs out for everyone, exploiting to fuck people over is always justified. You may have to check your logic as well. There is NO situation in where a legitimate kill should enable someone to reciprocate illegitimate revenge, and i can assure you most of the Day z community will agree with me on that. Is it not his fault for walking into the lower fire station and getting shot? We didn't use exploits to kill him. I don't want vegas' head. I want all the alt f4'ers and hackers to be dealt with. Until Rocket is able to fix these problems, which are clearly not supposed to be part of the game, we (the community) have to be able to efficiently keep our game clean.
  2. Sorry i wrote my response before your previous one was posted up so i didn't see it until now. I was gonna make a more civilized response to yours, and was going to concede that the flaming was excessive and all began because both parties were mad and took it too far. But apparently were continuing. I already stated that i posted on reddit as first response, and that i hadn't thought of the forums at the time. Honestly, I didn't see it as being out of place; you see it all the time on that subreddit. Like i said before, the point of this is to discourage exploiters from doing what they do, and what better way to show it than recount the stories about it to other players? I've read various stories, and sure I've dealt with alt+f4ers before, but not quite to this extent. It didn't hit me how badly it affects the game until this event. In all honesty, if my entire facebook friends list was composed of day z players, or if i was a streamer with a large follower base, i would have probably posted it on those platforms as well. And no you're right. We arent all angels. If something in a tent get duplicated from a server reset, i'm not going to go out of my way to destroy it, after all this game is buggy. But i have also never gone out of my way to use an exploit to ruin the experience of the game for another.
  3. Well for the "COD type squads of people armed with military grade weaponry", we were in the NWAF. Everyone who has been there knows it isn't exactly a friendly place; we weren't spawn killing or camping the coastline. People who head up in that area know that more often than not there will be trouble. If another group of players is a threat to you, then why not start a group of equal size to counter them? Honestly I don't personally know many people from our group as we were all acquainted in game. As for the reddit post, i have been subscribed to that subreddit for a while, yet i had completely disregarded these forums. Naturally, I felt like the first place to post it would be in the dayz subreddit. It may have been harsh to expose him like that, but the whole idea behind publicizing it is to discourage this type of gameplay. The more people see how these exploits have a negative effect on the game, the more likely they will stop doing it (and the fear of being publicly denounced helps as well). Minutes after posting on reddit JROC thought about reporting it here on the official forums, so he did just that (as to the blanking out of his name, i have no idea). We may be putting the game in a bad light for you, and for us its the cheaters who do so. It's all perspective.
  4. Yes, we were fired on first, but no, we weren't fighting an enemy we couldn't see. We quickly tracked him down, and ran him over. Then shot him with a 50 cal. Then ran him over again. There is nothing wrong with team play, in fact, we were expecting for one of us to get shot because we were being reckless, it was bound to happen. The difference is we were not worried about our losses, because worst case we pick up the loot, place it in the car, and quickly go pick up the player we lost. We had it under control. Most Sane people would not have engaged a 7 person group if they were solo, its a suicide mission. The problem here is that this player was willing to do it because he didn't have to worry about the risks because he is a cheater. Playing in a group isn't unfair. like Juggernut said, people can group up in real life; and it is effective, but you cant teleport around and disconnect to avoid death.
