  1. Just updated and killed a pig. When I lit a fire with the raw bacon in my inventory, it doesn't give me the option to cook it anymore. Is there a new way to cook food or something? I'm starving to death and I refuse to eat raw meat wtf.
  2. has anyone been able to after the update? Wait, is there a chance this is happening because I'm on namalsk?
  3. Of course I used the mouse wheel. I've tried 7 different fires, and none of them give me the option to cook meat. Have YOU tried it after updating yet?
  4. If you were born in the zombie apocalypse, your immune system is gonna be fucked. With a Tetanus shot, you can get a permanent boost to hp per food consumption, or any other permanent bonus. Just had a stoned flash of genius.

    Mini gun shop!

Willing to trade a SAW for NVGs. Possibly throw in an AK w/ cobra attachment for GPS as package deal. Leme know.
  6. I am so fucking tired of investing 2 hours hiking to find a bicycle, take it back to camp, re-arm, and find the bicycle being ridden by an invisible person riding around you in a circle. And then they disappear with it. FUUUUUUUUUUU
  7. I logged out on a bike, now im stuck on an invisible one. Im at 039 054 right next to the airfield, on the south side of tree line. Kill me and get my loot, cause apparently I cant even suicide. I'll be on US 634. Please make it quick.
  8. Wow that was incredibly fast. Well played masked bandit dude.
  9. I've been to like ten different supermarkets in different servers and I havn't found one. I found 2 cars and a bike. No tent though. Have they been removed from the game?
  10. Almost empty server (US488) with about 5 players. I died once by a huey who managed to pick me out despite a good 15min of crawling around (I don't like to make noise or ever fully stand up). I heard the chopper swoop in some moments later as I was at the perimeter of stary sobor prone. It hovers and point its side gun directly at me. So after deciding that wasn't necessarily proof of hacking, I re-quipped and headed back to stary sobor. Same routine and he found me again. Same tactic, even while prone and in bushes waiting to see if anyone was there (ritual 15min stake out before entering a town). And he swooped in and found me again, almost immediately. I combat disconnect because I'm fairly certain foul play is afoot. I log back on 15min later and raid the military tents. On my way out, me and all the players on the server are killed within the same 10 seconds (which is rare because there was only 5 or 6 of us). I get that once or twice could just be coincidence, but three times and a mass grave equals a pattern. Its incredibly frustrating trying to set up in a new server to die every time you get a gps. EVERY TIME.
  11. When journals are implemented, I think it would be a great layer of the game to auto mark gps coordinates in your journal whenever you place a tent. Therefore, when you kill someone you get all his tent loot if he had any. It creates a 'mission' for bandits (with a reward at the end) and eliminates the ability for players to exploit those tents by becoming 'gear immortal'. Everybody wins.
  12. I'm sure it would be easy enough to write a script and dig up player gps data from the server. It just requires serverside recognition to a clientside command. Same could be true for the server name.

    Lol New skin?

Pics or it didn't happen. Cause if it did happen that's the coolest use of a hacker's time since ever.
  14. This is more of an issue that Oculus Rift makers have to initiate. Do they offer a public or dev API?
  15. Currently, all new and recently dead players will spawn on the southern coast of Chernarus. Sometimes you can spawn way up there by Berezino and luck out, but that chance is small. This makes sense for two reasons, and they are called Electro and Cherno (I'm not even going to attempt to spell their real names). It gives players (or at least the more experienced) the chance to run to the nearest city to gear up. Personally, I always go to Cherno apartment block or Electro's Church. Easy pickings depending on the server. But this method has HUGE flaws. This system, by design or consequence, localizes most of the action to the southern coast. It means that new players will tend to stay on the coast, and it's two major cities, until they have enough equipment to head inland. This is not what some players do, it is what all players do. This robs us of the use of over 80% of the map. It stifles player movement. Think about it; when a player is fully geared and now has a tent fully stocked, what does he do? He goes back to the coast to try and bag himself the most dangerous game. Players have the best loot, after all. What this all means is that the current spawn system might as well be static. So why not experiment with a more dynamic system? 1) You spawn inside a C-130 that is currently on fire and descending rapidly. You need to jump out before its too late. 2) You spawn inside a train that derails somewhere along the coast, drawing lots of zombies and spilling over a bunch of junk loot. 3) You spawn on a pbx (unusable) that drifts ashore. 4) You spawn inside a RANDOM HOUSE (any of the houses in Cherno). 5) You spawn inside a chopper that is in mid crash. The crash would produce a useless chopper crash artifact with no loot or zombie spawn (unless it crashes in a city) 6) Allow all of the following to occur over ANY part of Chernarus (except int he case of the pbx and train This would add multiple benefits to the game almost immediately. The action wouldn't be as localized as it is on the Southern Coast. With players spawning in the middle of Chernarus (inland), players will be more spread out. You also create a sense of panic and vulnerability. It is no longer as easy to pinpoint your location with a 3rd party map. It also benefits those already on the ground. Think of seeing a plane on fire zoom over your head before exploding. You know a survivor is nearby somewhere. Trace the smoke or trajectory, the hunt is on. Same with any method described above. From an engine standpoint, I know everything is definitely do-able (except for the train). Why not add a level of immersion? Instead of dropping us randomly on the Southern Coast where every sniper in the game is waiting for you, why not give us some character development, and attachment to the avatar you pilot? This will create a much better experience for new AND old players alike.
  16. Its not fine for all the reasons stated above. But primarily, its not fine because it makes EVERYONE go to the southern coast and no where else.
  17. How does one commence the collaboration process?
  18. Elaborate? Ok. Would you rather spawn by plane in mid-crash and having to parachute out? Or accept the fact that a zombie apocalypse happened and you left your house without even grabbing a butter knife. And then went to beach...
  19. I don't think the map needs to be reworked in order to implement this system. There are plenty of small towns to raid for good equipment all throughout Chernarus.
  20. You guys are crazy, this mod is fantastic and I hope they DO add it to DayZ
  21. Because you are god of the night when you have them and a giant target to those who don't. And the gamma trick is fucking cheating. Not that I'm complaining about their advantage, I'm just saying LIMIT it so its not like hacker esp. NVGs run out of power all the time IRL. ESPECIALLY during combat.
  22. 1) The batteries on sight weapons (a la red dot) last for a long ass time when you only use it to aim in 1st person... 2) same 3)Holy shit you found a LASER? 4) yah, make those bitches need batteries OBVIOUSLY 5) yes, this too 6) same as 1 7) how often do you replace your watch battery? How about a wind up? 8) Car lights are powered by the engine recharging the car battery over and over...and horns....I don't THINK need electricity? 9) same as 1
  23. Yah you don't know the first thing about hacking in games. And yes, BF3 still has hackers. No, they cant teleport you, but they can still insta kill everyone on the server. Improve Arma2 code you say? Ok, 2 days later hackers have broken your patch and injected another scirpt bypass into the game. Whoops, didnt do shit and costs programmers a lot of time. Oh well, keep doing it twice a month for 4 days of being hack free.
