    Looking for a bandit partner...

I'll be in contact, I have a certain play-style I adhere to, but I haven't played in a month so there will be an adjustment period ^^.
  2. Unnecessary risk, I suppose it depends on how you view this game. If you value your loot more than the fun that you can have fair enough. I personally find that putting myself in the middle of interesting player interactions is waay better fun that worrying about where I'll get my next pair of NVG's etc. who cares, looting is easy.

    A good pvp friendly server

That looks pretty awesome, think I'll check that out!

    A good pvp friendly server

I suppose that's true, I've done a lot of server hopping in the past and I was hoping to avoid that this time as it can be tedious and I don't have as much time on my hands this time round.

    Define what a "Bandit" is.

'A robber or outlaw belonging to a gang and typically operating in an isolated or lawless area.' is the google definition, but in terms of dayz? A bandit is someone who has found that the best way to survive or the best way to enjoy the game is to murder other people for loot or to keep themselves safe. However there are many different types of bandits imo: Bambi bandit- Generally seen in coastal towns, armed with low grade military military gear, will probably kill you on sight but isn't very experienced at the game so you can keep an eye on his movements and avoid/stalk him easily whilst he thinks he's doing the same. Bored/KOS Bandit: Most bandits go through this stage, I know I did. They've headed North, got high grade military gear, driven cars everywhere and generally work in a team using skype/ts. These guys are quite well organised generally and are very paranoid- shoot first, ask questions later. Why? Because they've been focussing so much on gear that they've forgotten what makes this game so much more enjoyable- the player interaction/mild role play that adds so much. Without this they can only see the game as any other fps and so treat it that way. These guys are the ones who will be camping elektro/chern and only heading north once they've died. You'll probably find them loot spawning NWAF when the servers on low pop. The 'mature' bandit: A bandit with a sense of empathy. They've generally played the game for a while or were survivors who didn't start hating the world after they were murdered that first time. These guys have a sense of honour, if you have gear they don't then then they will by all means kill you for it if you're in the north, however, if you have nothing they need they will leave you alone. Similarly if they've recognised that you're a lone wolf they may have sufficient numbers/know-how to rob you instead of shoot you so that it doesn't totally waste the hours of work you've put in. Mostly, they put the fun of the game before that of loot and it's these guys that really make a community on a server and contribute to the more interesting scenarios and stories you find yourself embroiled in.
  6. Can anyone recommend a good bandit-friendly server? I'm gonna start playing again this week and I need a decent server to start on again. What it needs: -Admins are fair and unbiased. -Not a noob-fest, i.e you don't spawn on a beach with a silenced m9 or there's thousands of hellicopters and stuff. -Frequently populated -Veteran or Easy but I prefer there being 3rd person -More experienced players -Community spirits always good -Low ammount of hackers (I know that's hard to ask for these days) -Banditry encouraged but faggotry i.e sidechat spam/fresh spawn sniping with as50's frowned upon. Sorry if this doesn't belong in the bandit campfire but I figured the guys who check here would know where the best servers are to be found. Please don't spam about your server's if you're an admin, looking for genuine advice here!

    Looking for a bandit partner...

How experienced are you and how old are you?
  8. Take an Enfield over any other non military wep I would only take a cz If I've found a reasonable amount of ammo and even then I still don't like it. Any assault rifle or military sniper comes first obviously
  9. Sounds too dangerous bro, are you sure the pickaxes aren't too hazardous to let other people use?!
  10. Hippy

    Question: Sniper's second weapon?

silenced weapon, bizon or an m4 sd.

    Jesus. I'm so sorry, Andy.

Server hoppers are fucking gay, you're bad and you should feel bad.
  12. In this thread we discuss the more unconventional means of how to get those juicy murders and loot. Whether it be a grand scheme that you and your friends spend hours meticulously planning or a habit that you find works well whilst living the life of a bandit. I'll start with an odd one that whilst it failed horribly did make me and my partners chuckle for a while. We were looting Stary after losing everything a few hours earlier due to an ambush at a heli sight, we needed good weapons etc. to get us back in the game. We stationed 2 men to loot whilst another 2 snipers armed with DMR's provided overwatch from the barn and the hills to the north whilst i roamed the whole area. I was south of stary in the fields when i heard it, the low humming of a vehicle drawing closer. My friend in the barn exclaimed "It's a tractor to the fields in the East!" Naturally everyone panicked and started blindly looking to the east for a look (and shot) at this tractor. Once i got eyes on I could see it was heading straight for the red barn where our sniper was (That driver had balls of steel) "OPEN FIRE" I shouted at him, Our sniper stood up and took a 3-4 shots before he was shot in the shoulder by a DMR along with another man down by the tents who was killed instantly. The tractor swerved south, knowing his job was done, however he didn't anticipate a man in a ghillie suit with an m16 waiting for him in the bushes. I opened up on the bastard and he fell out of the thing riddled in bullet holes. Murders: 1 Now back to the sniper, He assumed our man in the barn was our only man providing overwatch, he flanked west and then south around the entire town until our sniper in the hills to the north spotted him in the bushes and presently ended his life. So in the end they failed. But the tactic worked, For a couple of vital seconds everyone in my squad were fixated on taking out that tractor, exposing our hidden snipers in the process. If it hadn't been for me in the bushes to the south he would've gotten away and if the sniper had been a little more stealthy whilst heading around the town he could've got more of us.

    Absolute Epic Heist FAIL!!!

This is what Dayz is about, having a laugh and doing stupid shit. Glad to see you're not taking it too seriously (hate it when people get pissed at you for just having a little fun)

    You know what's amusing?

Personally I think its harsh to betray peoples trust. Fair enough shooting them outright but it seems a little bit cruel and slightly heartless. Whatever though, I'll never get in that position anyway.
