Using the m24 will not give you a double kill. Try a sniper rifle with a higher caliber and velocity. Might give different results.

Try to find out where on the map you are (in what grid) and then find out where that other player is located, in what grid he/she is. Then, count how many grids there is between you and the other player. If I remember correctly, one small grid (when zoomed in on the map) is 100m. The larger grids, when zoomed out, is 1km.

Our 5 tents have been there for several days, we were online about 5-6 hours ago and we saved them at that time before logging off, only to come back about 15 minutes ago and finally be able to join a server again, to see that those tents are gone. Hopefully the server admin of SE 5 (Pandemic Legion) will restart their server soon, so we know if our tents survived this ordeal before we decide to set up a new camp.

Same thing happened to me and our group. Joined our home server only to see that my groups camp site is completely wiped. 5 tents loaded with weapons, ammo, food, meds, car parts and so on and so on. Several days of scavenging and many hours of work put down in to that camp site only to see it wiped like this. I wouldn't be half as angry if it was another player that raided our camp and destroyed the tents, but seeing it happened this way I'm just upset. >_____<

Tents still duping/losing items 1.7.1.5
1mpuls3 replied to kicktd's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
I can confirm this as well. Not so much that tents are duping, at least me and my group haven't noticed that bug after 1.7.1.5, however weapons have been dissappearing from our tents. One silenced M4 and one DMR have vanished. DMR vanished during the night 'til today. At first glance I thought our camp had been found and raided, but we have a few other decent weapons, ammo, food, meds, car parts, everything is untouched except for these two weapons. Also, the DMR that was lost some time during the night, 3 mags that was in the same tent as the weapon itself dissappeared also, but we have another 3 mags for it in another tent, same goes for the M4A3 that was lost a couple of days back. This tells me that our camp has not been found and raided. Who, in their right set of mind, finds a camp site, takes a DMR with 3 mags but doesn't bother to check all the other tents and take the other 3 DMR mags, and so on and so on.. it just doesn't make any sense at all. -
What happened to the server guys? It's been down for several hours now, I'm getting worried it won't come back up as the very same thing happened to my old "home".. :

It's your fault for having a shitty rig.

1.60.93825 required (among other issues)
1mpuls3 replied to ayaz2810's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Alright. 1st step: Go here; http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php Download ARMA2_OA_Build_94364.zip, it's a link at the top of that page, in the big green box - can't miss it. Unzip it, install it. 2nd step: Go to your desktop and the ArmA2 OA icon you should have there. Right-click on it => Properties, in the target box, make sure it looks like this: "E:\Spel\Bohemia Interactive\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=@Dayz -nosplash Basically what you're adding is "-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion", which tells the game to run the beta version. Of course, your target line will not be exactly like mine, so ignore everything up to the first "-" sign. 3rd step: If previous steps was successful, play the game. If you are using steam, the process is similar, except you change the target from within steam itself. How you do this I do not know, as I've never used steam. Edit: Another way of using the beta version is to go to your ArmA2 directory, find "Expansion", then "beta", and in this directory you will have another arma2oa.exe. Rename the arma2oa.exe in your main directory, then take the arma2oa.exe in your beta directory and copy it to your main directory. Then, drag it out to your desktop to create a new shortcut for it. When you're in the main menu, check the version number in the bottom right corner to see if it's the same as the number in the file you downloaded earlier. Then, in the main menu, you'll find a button called "Expansions", click on it and you will find @Dayz, tick that box, press OK, restart the game. It should now be working. Edit 2: Ooooookey, I now learned to read the first post more carefully. I just explained a solution to a problem that you do not have. Christ. >_< -
Kthxbai.

Just tell us your location and which server you're on, I'll go online and end yours and your friends misery.

I just created a thread similar to this but I forgot to mention where I was, what happened, what I was doing and all that so that thread will be deleted I'm afraid. Not that it matters, we got this one instead. Date/Time: Yesterday afternoon What happened: Three guys (one being me) checked our in-game watches, all of them showed different times. Also, they day/night cycle was altered, it wasn't GMT+2 at all. I've noticed this happening on server restarts, as if the server somehow loses which timezone it's in. Where you were: Far north. What you were doing: Hiking in the woods. *Current installed version: 1.7.1.5/Beta 94364 *Server(s) you were on: SE5 *Timeline of events before/after error: We were three guys on pretty much different locations on the map, decided to rendevouz at a certain place at a certain time when we noticed our watches showed different times.

There you go, that's the video, full link.

I think your best chance is to buy another copy of ArmA2 if you want to continue playing DayZ. From what I know, your global ban can and will not be revoked. You will not get that second chance. So go buy another copy. That's my best advice.
-
"DO NOT POST YOUR GLOBAL BAN APPEALS Look, we don't issue the Global Bans. They are issued by BattlEye. I cannot explain how they are issued, but I reviewed the process. These are very legit bans, issued not by DayZ but by BattlEye. IF YOU DO: YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY HELPFUL REPLIES AS YOU ARE A KNOWN HACKER NOTIFIED BY THE BATTLEYE SYSTEM. We have NO way of removing your ban. You will receive a ban from these forums if you post such a request, as you have been branded a known hacker. I SAY AGAIN: THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT YOUR BAN (except post some meme's). - please feel free to discuss ISSUES but not SPECIFIC BANS in this thread. Yep. I just died, no shots heard, I just simply.. died. Now, this could've been a sniper shooting from a long distance. BUT, 30 seconds later, both of my companions said in skype that entire Cherno is on fire. For well over an hour all three of us have heard very strange explosions from a distance, a sound we never heard before. Ever. But we didn't really give it much thought, we just discussed what it could be. Now we know it's something that isn't in DayZ to begin with. It needs to be investigated and dealt with asap.
-
Well, one of the guys I played with did take a screenshot of Cherno being on fire (the entire town) but that screenshot turned all black. So no, I/we can't provide anything that proves that there actually was anything going on. I'm pretty much hoping that another player did get some footage of it, and that he sees this thread, or that the admin of the server can find something in the server logs.

Whiskey could be used as a substitute for heatpacks too. Not that your body temp actually rises, but it gives the illusion of warmth. Just sayin.
-
But it isn't even an exploit. An exploit is something in a game not implemented by the devs, and that's used in a way to create unfair advantages over other players. 3rd person is nothing like that, why? Because a) it was implemented by BIS themselves, b) if someone is using 3rd person, everyone can, even you which makes it fair. If you choose not to use 3rd person on a server that allows 3rd, you alone make it a disadvantage for yourself.
-
But the loot is the same on every server. What difference does 3rd vs 1st person make when it comes to what loot you find?
-
BIS implemented 3rd person themselves. It's always been in arma and even back in the ofp iirc. So calling something that the devs implememted themselves years ago, an exploit, does not make sense. Nor does this thread. Let me suggest that you use the search feature in the future, the amount of threads on this subject is ridicilous.

Why not? We got a female model in-game and I don't think that Chernarus population was a 100% male one (use your imagination.)
-
Nuns? I have never seen any nuns. Priests, yes, but not nuns. Also, it doesn't get out of hand. If there was even the slightest chance of things going out of hands when implementing female zombies, we would've noticed when the female character was introduced in the first place.
-
No. It only stays on the server you deploy it in. Same goes for vehicles.
-
/me is tired but hopes you're being sarcastic.
-
Yea. But I do think that giving the devs confirmation, you know "we want this!" kinda thing.. doesn't necessarily have to be bad. Plus I think that adding female zombies is adding immersion. Not to mention you get to see something "new" in the game instead of watching the same old zombies everytime.
