    DayZ players attending Rezzed, Brighton

Live in Brighton - so I'll be there... strange
  2. You forgot chainsaw... needs fueling ;-)
  3. I also suggested Paranoia as a mechanic to introduce consequences to killing (not punish - pvp is a key part of the game). http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=13250 It's a shame that a discussion about mechanics becomes so polarised... strange

    Infected can 'smell' low humanity...

Heh, I'm exploring how you introduce consequences to killing, not making it about co-op or carebears....
  5. Another suggestion to introduce more consequence to banditry: infected can smell/sense low humanity too, and are attracted to it... some possible results of this, which could scale with how low humanity is: - increased aggro range? - don't need LOS to a bandit, as they can smell them - can't hide from infected? - infected will prioritise attacking low humanity? strange

    Paranoia after murders?

A suggestion: after killing someone, you may start to hear noises (or in extreme cases have visions/nightmares?), these may be triggered at times of tension (near a survivor, in combat?). Noises could be footsteps, zombie noises, gunfire, or mess with the direction of existing sounds The paranoia would fade over time, but if you kill again while in paranoid state, it could increase or last longer. The idea is to introduce more consequence into killing - messing with a players audio makes play more difficult without being game-breaking. strange

    Compressed day/night cycle?

The day/night cycle ruins the game - like many people, I get to log in at the same time most days, the evening. Which means a choice of playing in pitch black every time on a local server, or connecting to a laggy server on the other side of the world so I can actually see. Yes, some people like the night, but some like the day. Sticking to this cycle will kill the game, which is a shame as it has huge potential. strange.
