Don't get attached to your gear...Does ANYONE play this game in a server where it is night? It really sucks because the servers that are available to me all tend to be veteran and at night.. I can't see a damn thing, and if someone thinks I'm going to move an inch from where I am in the darkness, considering how dangerous the game is at noon, they can go suck an egg. It's madness. It's really scary already hearing gunshots after being spawned near one of the cities and picking up an ALICE pack that I don't want to lose.
I feel stuck, and I'm really getting thirsty.. Day one of thirst.

Don't trust anyone is one of my DayZ rule, you should follow that to then.If this was a real life situation i was in i wouldnt KOS, id be more focused on trying to maintain the human species. But in DayZ if you dont KOS you will be shot and killed.
Not 10 mins ago i was in a house with someone he was upstairs, i was below him i was telling him i have no weapons and im friendly in direct com, so i started looking around for items and got shot in the back. for what, 1 bandage?
I really liked the game when bandit skins where in. It kinda discouraged people to KOS coz they'd be then turned into a bandit and will get shot at by almost anyone.

It sucks but I've taken that as a part of the game, still I don't intend to shoot to kill if I would have to.

I managed to run into Elektro and loot plenty of stuff and run out without getting detected by zeds :)

Some people and I thinks that's cheating.This will end in tears! Crank your video settings and play in B/W like everyone else (I'm staying natural as to whether this is how the game should be played or not)

I broked my legs and then logged out. After that I had to wait for about 30 MINUTES or so before I could do anything because I was unconsuis. :*(

I don't recommend these stands because there are ALWAYS zombies nearby and you will probably bump into a player sooner or later!

On night you should take the opertunity to raid Elektro and Cherno, the two big cities next to each other. Because it's so dark zombies will not spot you as easily if it were day-time!

Lower the 3D to about 1600x??? to fix this. I had the same problem and I when I lowered the 3D it worked.Have the same problem tho,
AMD Phenom x4 940@3.0ghz
GTX 560Ti 1gb@900mhz
4gb DDR2@800mhz
And stil, resolution 1920x1080 in both, interface and 3D
AA off, everything else on max - no matter what I set it on, the performace will not increase, and I am getting about 35fps in wilderness and small towns, and drops down to 15fps in bigger towns(measured with FRAPS).
The fact that changing any graphic settings makes me believe that the problem is not with GPU, but the CPU is slowing me down, I might OC it to 3.4-3.6ghz, but currently I have only stock heatsink, so I dont think it'd be good idea...
Well, any other ideas how to improve my performace would be essential
EDIT: I have read somewhere that some of the AO beta patches should somehow increase performance about 100%, but cannot find the thread now, anyways, installed today latest beta patch, and performance did not get better.

Join a smaller server with less people and you should be fine, allthough there aren't to many in elektro for some reason.

think it might be the distance they are spotted at but thats just a guess
and yeah the nameplate/ranging is server side - and lame should flick it off on all servers makes it much more fun

Some of the servers are incredible unstable so I don't think its your laptop.
