I heard about a possible future feature where it would leave a "ghost" of the player there. The player's application goes down, but in game the server keeps the character in game for about 10-30 seconds. This would give the attacking player the chance to kill his victim without the pussy quitting on him. The coward can close it all he wants, but his "ghost" stays in game and can still be killed within a certain allotted amount of time. I would love to see this feature. The only time I alt+F4 in combat is when I'm being attacked by a hacker. They're illegitimately attacking me, so I can illegitimately quit on their asses. To see a feature like this added in game would be great.

Let me tell you this OP: This game shows off the true way humanity functions. It shows human nature with a fine toothed come. Humanity, by nature, is deceptive, warlike and extremely belligerent. You can use the excuse, "Well its kill or be killed in this game!" Sure, that has some relevance, but who DOESNT get a rush from killing the competition? And a lot of people have fun tricking people, bringing them into their group and then betraying them; as you experienced. They just used you as a duping sweatshop boy. Call me horribly pessimistic, but this is how we human beings are by nature. So no, its not "people in this game." You should rename this thread, "Humans are dicks." Thats how humanity is; if you haven't realized that by now then I feel extremely sorry for you. Tl;dr: Humanity is belligerent and dishonest. You were a retard for trusting them. -
COD and CS have very small maps. There is barely any long range sniping in that game. I hardly think that either one of those games is affected by wind or bullet drop either. Arma sniping is effected by both of those factors. It is easy at times, but there are points where sniping can be a real challenge in this game.

You guys are all fucking retarded. OP never..."NEVER" delivers. -
Don't fix vehicles; the save function is broken and all that will happen is the vehicle will go back to it's orignal spawn point since 1.7.2.5 and be broken again. Don't bother wasting your time.

Sniping requires gratuitous amounts of patience. The map is huge and your best bet to getting kills is in Cherno or Elektro, obviously. But that also leaves you open to getting killed at any second. If you aren't a patient person, sniping probably isn't for you. I play with a couple people with ADD/ADHD, and they can't stand sniping. If waiting isn't for you, (Then day Z probably isn't for you considering the travel times,) I'd consider playing a bandit with an assault rifle, raiding airfields and large cities.

Me and my group of friends have a large base off map. It consists of 3 ATVs, The Ural, The V3S, One Bus, both motorcycles, The UAZ, The Huey Helicopter, 2 tractors, and both white offroads. All of them of filled with very valuable shit. And all that shit thats stored in them is infinite because of the saving glitch. Needless to say, if you're willing to sacrifice a lot of time off-map in a well populated server, you can sometimes get lucky enough to find these bases. The only time our bases have been found is from ESP hackers, teleporters, etc. So it can be tricky if you don't cheat.

Zombies are most likely the biggest threat..
AG-D.Wright replied to Jesters (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Zombies are NOT your biggest enemy in this game. We all know that players are your worst enemy. Zombies can be easily avoided if you put the right effort into it. If you plan your movements through towns carefully, you can move past them and not have to worry about them chasing you and making a sniper get a look at you. Try running through buildings with more than one entrance, and than proning once your outside from the other exist. Another method is zig zagging up a steep hill and then proning at the top. You can also zig zag through evergreen trees. They operate through line of site. Once its broken, they'll slowly look for you, but if you manage to stay out of sight they will no longer chase you. Zombies will never incap you if your blood is above 10,000. (Its rumored to above 9000, but I was incapped by a zombie at like 9800 blood) If you keep it above that level they should never make a meal out of you. Its all about experience. The mere topic of this thread is ridiculous. A sentient being with a firearm is WAY more a threat than a glitchy computer zombie. -

Just because you're questionably more knowledgeable in code doesn't give you the right to call him stupid. Ignorance of code =/= Stupid. Its just ignorance. And that, sir, makes you a dick head. -

Flushing is About as Useful as an Art Graduate
AG-D.Wright posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So with the new patch, most of us have been having major issues with Graphical Artifacting. This makes it nearly impossible to navigate towns/cities for obvious reasons. There has been a "Work-around" going around where you hold shift and the "-" key on the number pad and then typing "Flush." This is TEMPORARY and the artifacting comes back within seconds/minutes. I guess my question is this: Are there any permanent or at least long lasting solutions for the artifacting issue? Is there a fix being made in the works now? I can hardly even play this game. -

AG-D.Wright replied to natas88dk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This. Also, I've had the same glitch. Server lost connection for everyone and when I rejoined, It said I was dead, but I had all of my stuff + My kill/blood stats and such. Also spawned outside of Cherno. Don't know why it does that, but hopefully the dev team knows about it and is working on it.
