I believe what he means by private server, would be servers that are only connected to their own separate hive and not the main hive that's maintained by the DayZ staff. In any case, there are plenty of other legitimate reasons for the need to only play on a locked server other than being sick of getting killed by bandits (rampant hacking/alt f4's/dupers/the list is endless). I like the idea about having a transition phase to the bandit skin. Perhaps some sort of in-between skin before actually becoming a full fledged bandit. It could be just a skin that indicates that the player has become "hardened" from having to deal with other hostile survivors. A "Rick Grimes" skin so to speak. :P

Yep, it is indeed hive related. Although, you could probably do what ZH used to do and setup a tent (with all the parts) close to the chopper so you could just easily repair it after each restart.

Exactly this. If anything the people doubting this effort need to stop looking down on the OP and instead offer some advice to keep this thing going. Perhaps with an established group, teenagers can finally have a place to go to instead of trying to join the older age groups. So theoretically......its a win win.

Perhaps throwing a fun rock might work?

Alright, I can understand your position in defending the actual teenage range and not the preteens. They are indeed treated unfairly (in this community especially).....However, for the most part many of them are indeed bad apples. Unfortunately, an immature teenager would be more vocal than a typical mature teenager would be and this may affect a clan's overall attitude towards other younger players. In regards to having a more detailed recruitment process geared towards filtering out undesirables...I absolutely agree. However, you have to understand that setting up any sort of recruitment process is an absurd amount of work and some clans may not want to make the additional effort just to grab the handful of mature teenagers out there. In any case, many clans will continue to disallow applicants under 18 (no matter how this topic progresses) simply because they are tired of dealing with young players in general.

Unfortunately, this is indeed the way it will be from now till......eternity. Clans will continue to not only look down on younger applicants, but be very skeptical of one as well. People can argue that its unfair, but.....that's reality. The people in this topic can argue all they want, but I don't believe it will change the fact that most, if not all clans will continue to impose a 18+ age restriction. Most clans are either tired of dealing with kids in general or simply do not want to risk it.

Again, I can't speak for other clans; but you have to understand the amount of stress a recruitment officer would be under. The constant stream of applications coming in day in and day out would make anyone overworked and tired. So when a kid comes along and says he wants to join the clan, there's not much motivation left to give him a chance.

Like I've said in my previous post, there are other indications of their age. Generally speaking, any good recruitment officer after only a few minutes of chat should be able to tell if an applicant is not only a kid; but an immature one at that.

Which is why most applications has a space for age. And I see where you're going with this. People can lie all they want on the application, but the player's age will be very apparent once they are actually spoken with. Once a recruitment officer goes ahead and speaks with an applicant via voice chat (be it steam/skype/vent/ts/mumbles/raidcall), not only will their voice give them away; but other signs of immaturity will come into light as well. All of which will betray the information listed on said application.
