Hence the dedicated server part. The OP's referring to private servers that are connected to a separate hive cluster, which normally are very restrictive with what you can or can not do. -

Unfortunately, it seems like the only way to go is dedicated server or bust. Private hosted servers seem to be worse off than the public servers due to the fact that you'll be dealing with host providers when it comes to anything hive related (and I haven't seem too many host providers handle them too well). -

How do you contact a server admin?

You could always ramble on in group chat or something and hope an admin is watching rcon. Perhaps you can type out a whole poem or even a short story (I'd pick something eye catching like Edgar Allan Poe) and an admin might notice it over everything else and ask what's up. -

I like this idea as well. Hell, it's already possible in the game. You could simply shoot someone in the leg to incapacitate them, drag them close to a car and force them into it by gun point. The only thing missing is not being able to physically drag someone into a truck and drive off. That and being able to bound and gag the guy. -
Honestly, it's fine even if the zombies do have super hearing so they can compensate for their apparent lack of smell.

If that's really the case, that's similar to the limited protection heavy soldier zombies seem to have (thanks to the helmets they have on).

M14s are decently rare (duplicating tents aside). I've yet to find one on military buildings, but I've found them at helicopter crash sites fairly often. And don't bother collecting DMR mags if you don't have one yet. DMR mags are so plentiful that you'll easily trip over a couple of them no matter where you go.

Well, that's the beautiful part about the m14; it's great for practically all ranges. So it shouldn't just be limited to players that like to snipe.

The fact that it is loud only reinforces it's role as a pvp weapon. Honestly, people should be using their secondaries for zombies and switch to their primaries when they need to deal with another player anyway.

If its a team of survivors and bandits, why not just turn yourself into a mercenary group? That way both shades of gray can be apart of the group.

The m14's the best multipurpose rifle in the game in terms of pvp. It's the perfect choice for anyone's that wants to play an assault role because it's got good range (short range, mid-range, long range if you're really good at squinting your eyes and in your face range) and awesome stopping power. One clean shot can easily knock out a player or kill him if its a head shot. As for why its normally overlooked? Probably because everyone wants to be a sniper.

If the soldier outfit was legitimately in the game, I'd pick that over both outfits hands down. It has the same level of camouflage as the camo outfit (possibly more, can't remember) and it even has a helmet (which I've always hated about the camo outfit for not having any head wear).

Obligatory "it's a tarp" post. As for the obvious tent location you mentioned, it's exactly as you stated. I've experienced it myself when someone put a tent by the Elektro supermarket. Luckily the sniper was a pretty lousy sniper at that. -

Pretty much this. That and there are enough veteran players out there that may more or less know all the common southern tent locations (well hidden or naught). Perhaps people should start playing on lingor island servers or something. -
I started playing DayZ only about 2 months ago, so I have no idea how the old DayZ worked. However, I have heard of mythical tales of the old DayZ, where hackers were non-existent (even on high pop servers) and unicorns would trample down any duplication tents it would see. Are these tales true?

Man, I need to figure out what the key code is for special star characters (I want them too!). Any who, on to the topic at hand....nice to see more trading guilds are popping up. -
Working as intended. If you're on a boat, your chances of getting sick increases exponentially. Probably due to the "high speed winds" you'll be experiencing on the boat. As for the slow speed.....there's only one boat that's worth using and that's the pbx speed boat. Everything else, blow it up as service for anyone that may mistaken it for a useful means of transportation.

Uh....the only retro gaming I ever did was a super nintendo emulator......does that count?
