A simple set of zombie changes to make DayZ what we've all wanted it to be
Grodenn replied to Blay Wayne's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Actually I believe they won't despawn in SA anymore because the server will handle the zombies instead of the client -
Feasible way to tenfold the map size and server capacity
Grodenn replied to Grodenn's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well even if that is the case it should be possible to change the design so it would be possible, shouldn't? As for max players yes technically that is true but if NWAF was on one server and Electro on another and together they have 100 people on them (same game world) does it actually matter that they are running around on different machines(read: servers)? The feel will be the exact same as if they where on the same. The difference is that you are not as limited by the performance potential if you are running several servers, ie higher player/zombie count in a larger area. -
promote walking (will be unpopular of a suggestion)
Grodenn replied to SoWeMeetAgain's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Would make sense but you gotta think about the impact of a system like that, this would simply mean that people (in a grp) would start shooting near each other (to get into combat) so they can move faster and for a longer time :P. -
This idea is great but I really don't think you should be told what blood type you are. You should do some in game test to find out :) that would be awesome and would create some new exiting challenges.
-
Well by "manually" I do mean the workarounds and yes I know that the settings inside steam are very new :) just saying they actually exist.
-
You are wrong you have been able to change it manually for every game for ages, and now adays there is an option inside steam to place specific anr/or new games in different folders / hdd's
-
Try not to run everything on the lowest setting if Im not misstaken this forces all calculations on to the CPU which means your CPU needs to work really hard while the GPU does nothing. So putting some settings a bit higher will actually give you better fps. I can't remember which settings you should change I recently got my self a new computer so don't have that issue anymore :).

[Suggestion] Zombie Behavior V2 Topic
Grodenn replied to Countercruel's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
All sounds cool except the smell part, this is just another visual sight thing and doesn't really make much sense. There is most likely very few times that would actually matter as well. -
hum, Seems like you want a cheaper machine considering the graphics card you choose. But why on earth whould you pick a 6 core AMD processor? First of all AMD is far behind intel atm so I would suggest going for an i5. and you really don't need 6 cores if you are building a pcs for gaming. There is no games that actually use 6 cores so it really is a complete waste. When it comes to storage I would recommend that you get an SSD aswell for your OS / Programs (that needs to be fast), this will be one of the biggest improvments you can get for a 'fast speed feeling'. The ram should be running at 1600 mhz which is the sweetspot between price / preformance. The part you should spend the most money on is the graphics card for sure, if I remember correctly, the AMD cards run better on arma than nvidia does for other games it is the other way around.

Gamercamp - Nov 2012 - Interviews and Article
Grodenn replied to SmashT's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
What do you mean by "Rocket appears to be moving away from that kind of "marketing" "? Rocket have state many times that the standalone is going to follow the minecraft model with a alpha release with a low price and as things move along the game gets updated and the price increases. -
Found the new plane at the NE Airfield! (Video)
Grodenn replied to moeps2's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
A few weeks? are you serious? I tried this a few months back in the editor cause someone suggested that this should be added into the game. I could easily land it even on my first try on an air field, was also able to easily land it in any other field all though that took a little bit of practice. These planes are actually rather useful you can land and takeoff pretty much anywhere because the amount of "runway" needed is very small. -
why not? it's not like torrents them self are illegal lol
-
Both yes and no, it would defiantly limit the amount of cheaters how ever it would also suck balls to see that the server you are playing on suddenly got shut down.
-
Rocket resently said that 100-200 players are easily achievable for the standalone and more would require a bigger map Here is a quote I took from the reddit Q n A thread ( http://dayzmod.com/f...stions-answers/ ) Q: With the standalone, you've said 100-200 players per server is a possibility. How are you going to tackle the density issue? Will the Chernarus in the stand-alone version be much bigger than the current iteration? Will we see a totally new map that's bigger?I'm just concerned about 200 players on one Chernarus-sized map. I feel that'd be more deathmatch than survival. A: Make the maps bigger is the answer [Rocket's answer]

If you check out the interviews with rocket from gamescon (there is a thread in general discussion linking all) he talks about adding this to the game. Some history for the virus it self how ever he also states he don't want to add a story to the game cause that will take away parts of what dayz is. Dayz is about player interaction and there is a reason why the under title for dayz is "this is your story". I really like this approach rocket have cause it creates something new, something I haven't experienced yet and I love it! As much as I would love more content and stuff to do in the game I think that this idea (suggested by OP) doesn't really fit that well with the concept of dayz.
-
You think dayz is getting a little bit boring and there for wants single player? Yepp fuck logic
-
Can't you just use a link to the youtube clips instead as a workaround?
-
And this interview just posted on the news section http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-08-21-dayzs-dean-hall-rocket-man-rising

Not to mention the 3 deer stands just above Kamenka, I have personally found an AK and some other military graded weapons in them. Kamenka is actually a very good spawn unless you plan on grouping up with someone at elektro/cherno.
-
Crossbow could be my favorite weapon
Grodenn replied to dillonblunts's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Agreed and they really need to increase the effective range, according to the dayzwiki page that range is currently 30 meters. As far as I know such weapons are easily lethal at 200 meters in real life so it doesn't make much sense at all. -
DayZ Standalone: features I'd like to see in the game.
Grodenn replied to fickers's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
And how is that good in a game that is suppose to be hardcore, gief more challenge this game is way to easy atm. -
Yeah obviously ^^
-
Finding a hatchet should take no more than 5 minutes, there is like 4-5 of them in every barn lol and they spawn pretty much everywhere. You must be running around in some forest if you are unable to find any type of weapons.

I hope you are trolling with dem links to your own desktop? One cannot simply be that stupid, or can you ?
