Hi all, I'm new to DayZ so I apologise in advance if I use wrong terminology etc. I started yesterday, and on my second character got out of the city, and up until today picked up some cool items etc. I was sneaking in to a town when my connection severed or something, and I got booted back to the server screen. When I rejoined the game I was starting fresh, as though I died. I figured the game was just buggy, probably a once off thing, so I played that out and died. I then decided since I was dead it was a good time to change my profile name, so I went and did that, and when I logged back in to the game I was back at the first spot, with all my original items!! I was pretty stoked. Took me a long time to find a shotgun. :D So I continued playing for a bit, got disconnected again, reconnected and blammo, back in the spawn point. Sigh. Log out, create a new profile, log back in, back at my old spot. Phew. I played for a bit more, got some new cool stuff, then left game by choice. When I returned later I rejoined the game and once again I'm back at a spawn point. Leave game. Create new profile, start game. Spawn point. Leave game, try an older profile. Spawn point. :( So I've lost all my hard work, which I guess is ok (I was probably going to die soon anyway). But I'm hesitant to get in and start again if regardless of how careful I am there's a good chance my character will be wiped to a random bug. Sooooooooo I guess I'm asking: a) is this a known problem? B) is there a work around? c) is there an estimated time on a fix? d) can I have some NVGs and a silenced rifle with an alice pack full of the required ammo as compensation? Thanks, Mitchell.
