Separate slot for Flashlight in the Inventory

Thanks, Stubbies. It really does seem like a viable option that would make the interface a bit less clunky.

    1st Person vs. 3rd Person

I sometimes feel like I'm playing Gears of War when I look at my character. The only thing different being that we're much more conservative about ammunition, and it's a lot faster paced in Gears.

    Dungeons :)

I say hell no, because that will be the only thing that people will do. They won't even play the game for what it is now. The only thing people will be thinking of is "end game", and that will be the only goal. SCREW having fun rushing into a barn with your best friend to grab a Winchester and fend off the infected that followed you. SCREW looting residential houses for necessary loot like food. SCREW going anywhere up north, because you'll just get an office in front of the dungeon that will give you guns and ammo (it'd be inevitable). No one is going to want to go anywhere because there's going to be people with "end game" gear just taking people out even more than there are now. I do NOT want a dungeon, what, is it going to be the mad scientist who released the infection and has a castle north of Berezino?

That's really not what I was going for, I already knew of the existence of that pistol.

    1st Person vs. 3rd Person

The even bigger problem than that is why we can't have the flashlight in a slot of its own like the binoculars..

    Are there still friendly Survivor?

Dr.Lyme, if you aren't speaking straight out of your buttocks, I'd like to play a game or two with you, if you would like it. You're the kind of person that I would enjoy playing with. Though, I almost enjoy playing the game with someone who isn't a pro. There is a level of DayZ that I think I don't want to achieve, and that is logging on everyday and running through Chernarus making rounds from the NWAF and Stary. I want to play and have fun, explore and die, and in death discover new things about this game. I feel like that magic is lost when you play with someone who knows everything. My Skype is Buddymcfriend Send me a request if you're interested! Or if anyone else is, for that matter.

    _.-General Chat-._

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Hey everyone, I wanted to start something, if it catches on that's great, if not, that's fine too. Basically, I didn't want to keep starting threads about questions I have and things that happened to me because I would only be adding to the clutter with 10 more topics. So my idea (granted it was most likely not revolutionary) was to start a small chat-lounge so that anyone can say anything they want and people will respond. It's basically like a forum, but for all of the unnecessary threads like a few that I've posted (maybe this one is too :P ). It probably won't work out, but my heart won't break if it doesn't; I just wanted to chat with a few good (or bad) soldiers on here. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= For my first post: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= So I've been hoarding these M1911 mags for a while now, I have six on my belt and four in my pack (not to mention the 4 ACP rounds; survival is for those who improvise!), and I'm not sure if I should drop them or not. I mean, I don't really need any more room for food or drink, what I could possibly make room for is more medical supplies, but still. Do you think I should drop many of the mags because of how ineffective this weapon is currently? I can't help just pickin' em up when I see them on the ground all shiny in their boxes.

    Let me have it :D

    0.28% Chance..

That is extremely rare (Speaking of Camouflage and Ghillie, to be clear), considering how much trash is spawned.

    Answer?

    0.28% Chance..

I've been hitting the apartments, office building, and pub over a few servers, yet to no avail. Am I hitting the right places to find a suit?

    Considering Survival

Like my "1st Person vs 3rd Person" thread, I'm going to ask two more fairly general questions; those being: 1.) Do you prefer to find a server with the least amount of players possible? Or do you jump into a server that has 20-max players? Also, please elaborate on why you choose either, or both. =-=-=-=-=-= I personally have been going for servers with the least population possible, whether it be that I want to scavenge for loot with the least amount of people scavenging along with me, or just the fear of the unknown (hence the title). Another thing is that I fear that the two or three other people on the map might JUST so happen to be in the same area as myself. =-=-=-=-=-= 2.) When you see a dead player body, do you spend time searching the outlying area (whether it be a building or an open area, etc.) first before looting it? Do you sit back for a while in a place you deem safe to see if anyone is around? Do you run in, nab what you can and then bolt? Or finally, do you just get the hell out of there? =-=-=-=-=-= I personally freak the heck out when I see another player's body, whether there be two other players in the server or ten. My heart tends to beat faster, and my first reaction is to see if there is a safe place that I can sit in while scouting the area, but knowing my luck, the person that had killed the man on the floor is probably sitting in that spot I deemed safe, waiting for someone to go and search the dead body. =-=-=-=-=-= 3.) --The 'Standard' Question-- Do you shoot another player on sight? If you do or don't, please explain why. Is it the guilt that you killed someone who was working just as hard as you were to get where they are? Are you not confident in your abilities to withstand a firefight? Do you fear the possibility of another player that might be accompanying the player you've spotted? Are you concerned with the noise of a gunshot? =-=-=-=-=-= I believe reactions are very situational. I for one have only killed two men in the two weeks that I've played. One man was killed because I was walking down the stairs of the ACT tower located at the Balota Airstrip and he scared the bejeesus out of me, crouch-walking up the stairs with an M24 in hand. This was the first time that I had seen an actual LIVING player (all the other players were a bunch of dead survivor bodies), and was incredibly nervous about the situation, hearing so much about "shoot or be shot". I regret it now, because the poor man didn't even have ammunition on him, and I reacted too quickly (ironic, considering it was a 'reaction'). The second man's death was due to my fear of dying, and the need for self-preservation. Same place, the Balota Airstrip, but this time, there was much, much more gunfire when I logged in next. The man was standing next to the door of the ACT tower, shooting in the direction of the airstrip. Fearing that he would turn and shoot at me, I shot him a few times in the body and he went down. Karma got me good, for when I was looting his body, a crazy axe-man came out of the bush and slashed me a few times with his hatchet (I had only heard the sound of feet crunching grass before it was too late). =-=-=-=-=-= Have fun below! I'd really enjoy seeing what you guys have to say.

    Clothing Spawning?

Quick question, if you don't have an answer, don't be dumb and post something dumb. As of right now, are clothing like Camo and Ghillie available in loot spawns? I'm running build 95248. If so, can you please tell me what build it's actually available in?

Zombies are actually much more receptive to gunshots now.. Which is a bit terrifying when you're in the smallest of the residential homes, bleeding, with 5 zombies lumbering into the room and 7 more skulking past the windows in the heavy rain..
  19. BuddyMcFriend

    Clothing Spawning?

I don't know if they have those in Elektro, I've actually never been to Cherno.

    Just wanna know

Considering how I almost always get stuck in a night time server, even after server-hopping, I just resorted to cranking up the gamma to the max, and also raising the brightness so everything isn't tinted blue. Night time is otherwise nearly unplayable. I'd rather not fumble around in the dark like an idiot and bump into a zombie, because I'd be really disappointed in dying like that after getting all the items I've gotten.
  23. No one wants to go throught that much trouble for a blood transfusion. Just sit in a residential house, get a Skype call going, and if you get shot, it's not a big deal. An AKM can be found in a Fire Station.

    1st Person vs. 3rd Person

So THAT is what those dots are for? I assumed that it was the sun in my peripherie..

    1st Person vs. 3rd Person

The times that I have been stuck in first-person, due to server limitations, I've actually enjoyed. It's something that I think all of us should experience, being in a server of 'mercenary' difficulty (no crosshairs, no third person, no nameplates, no 'armor', no death messages). If you really are getting bored of the gameplay a bit, I guarantee playing on that difficulty will keep you dancing on that same edge you were on when you first started playing this game. You never really know what's going to be around the next corner, and if someone dies, there isn't a message there to tell you. First person isn't a disadvantage. You might not be able to 'sense' someone standing next to you, or smell them (?), but you can hear them and see them if they're not careful enough; and you can make the same mistakes. Everyone is on the same level with first-person, unlike third (which gives much more advantage to the man who can see over walls and behind corners with a 2 foot distance from the actual corner).
