  3. FIRSTLY Me and a pal have only been playing Dayz now for three days. We tried over and over to meet up and it only ever happened once, but then I managed to fall and break my legs and bleed out... Until last night that is. I was outside a very deserted Elektro and my mate was up one of the chimney towers and he said he could see me. He said he'd been up there a while and there were no shots so it's pretty safe, so I walked through and up the tower to meet him. Up there we looked around and agreed the city probably isn't safe to be hanging around in, so we'd head out of the city in a northern direction and loot the buildings on the way out. I was equipped with a Lee Enfield that I found and a magnum too (which I was luckily enough to find in the same house), he had nothing so I gave him my rifle. As we were scuttling out we heard a few shots, we instantly hit the ground wondering where they came from. After lieing completly still for a good 2 minutes, we heard some more and they sounded like they were coming from the fire station. So the next 40 minutes seen us get from the chimney to the fire station, covertly running behind buildings and fences until we had sight on the targets. When we finally got to the house opposite the station, there were bodies littered in the road and a shit tonne of flys in the area, there was a tent set up in the middle of the road so we assumed it was a sniper luring out inexperienced folk like us... We decided that we should go prone and make our way out of the sides of the building very slowly, one on each side, and try and get a sight of the murderers. I seen one, who looked like he was loaded with some kind of sub machine gun enter the little hut in the fire station car park, he stayed in there for a good minute then came out and proned right in my line of sight. I told me friend I was going to engage the shot so keep an eye out for his friend. Then I did it. I crouched up, lined up my magnum and put three shots into him, I saw he had been killed in chat and a huge relief came over me instantly. (How immersive is this game, my heart was going crazy for a good hour up until this point) My friend instantly saw the other guy stand up and try to run back and around the fire station, but he managed to land one shot on the target and made him start to bleed. We decided we needed to fall back and find a more suitable position because we were now giving ourselves away with the gunfire. So we went a few tiers back and had a new plan. We decided to throw a flare on the right side of the fire station whilst sprinting down the left flank, hoping that, if the guy was actually concentrating bad, it'd give us enough time to get by. It worked, we managed to get ourselves on the grass bank right next to the fire station. I had 3 rounds left in my pistol, my friend also had three. I was throwing flares into the doors of the fire station trying to get some kind of movement from the area but it was dead. Suddenly we seen him run down the field next to us, not knowing we were there. We both jumped up in front of his face, at around 5 meters away and started to shoot. I STILL HAD MY FLARE EQUIPPED. The guy, much like me, had completely frozen dead and forgot how to use a keyboard. My friend (who missed both shots too) had time to reload and shoot the guy twice, once in his chest, once in his head and drop him like a sack of spuds. All we could do was laugh, this was the first moment we had stand with other hostile players in a situation where it was 'Kill, or be Killed' as we are generally just survivors getting killed with no equipment. Two complete noobs to the game, managed to stake out two hostile players (that must of easily murdered around 8-12 people on that road) and get out of there alive. We wanted to get out of the city ASAP so we looted the guy on the field and took off. I took his ALICE pack and and a map, compass and a watch. Also all the medical supplys, hunting knife and matches etc and we got out of there. That hour and fifteen minutes had me sweating buckets, it was the most on edge experience I've ever had in a video game.
