Hi all, I played this game religiously for quite a while but chucked it in 4-5 months back after one too many encounters with people hacking. I've had a browse through the forums, but it's still a little unclear as to how regularly you die via hacker now. I'm not too keen on spending hours on this game again only to be killed by being teleported out to sea, turned into an animal, thunderdome'd, nuked, shelled by artillery or some other such bollocks again. Can anyone let me know if this is still a prevalent issue with the game or has this been stopped now? Your feedback is appreciated :-) As a side note: I realize I could just play and find out, the problem is I've reinstalled windows in between then and now and I live in New Zealand where the internet allowances are fairly stingy, so a 15GB download is a bit of an ask.

Sweet, I bit the bullet and reinstalled. Have only run into one cheater so far and he was basically only spawning in good gear for himself, so no biggie. It's good to be back, lol

Airsoft guns...actually a good idea. If only there were a way to turn hacked in weapons into airsoft guns. Would be hilarious! Asshole hacker teleports in behind you, lines you up and squeezes the trigger to be greeted with an electric 'phut' and 0.01% damage to the target. Player could then turn and fire a legit weapon in response. Provided they aren't doing that invisibility trick they have...

Yep, same problem...I can play for between 2-10 mins before "You were kicked from the game: BattleEye failed to update". Have tried installing the latest BattleEye .dll's (Client & server just for good measure) in the /expansion/battleeye directory, no joy. Have tried running as administratior, no joy. Played with firewall settings, all Arma exe's have full in/out access..can't see a problem there. Running OA_Build_94876 (The more recent beta's cause "Wait for host" freeze for me..) and DayZ 1.7.2.3 - Spent more time trying to get this to work than playing recently, but that's part and parcel of Alpha's I guess. It's funny that BattleEye dosen't actually seem to stop any hackers, but certainly cannonballs legit players.

Hiya, issues with this patch - 1.7.2.3 DayZ, patch OA_Build_94945 - Have tried joining several servers ANZ (5, 9 & 3), NZ (1, 4 & 9), US (??? - sorry) all with the same result - Waiting for host freeze. Gave each server a good chance, around 10 - 15 mins, but no joy. Is it just me or are there others?

Yeah, this is already happening on a small scale across certain servers. People are walling off areas with Barbed wire, sand bags and Tank Traps to establish base areas. Some are simply making the good loot inaccessible, but I think there are a few who are using it in a less annoying fashion to simply cut off points of entry into a certain area. That way, they know where they're gonna have to watch (Presuming any incoming people don't have a toolbox).

I've had the same thing. Works fine on some servers and dosen't on others. Like the way item pickups sometimes take a while to register, I think it's a server thing, not game mechanics or intentional battery depletion or something. My guess is if you're on a server where the red/yellow chain is popping up often your gonna have a bad time with turning the flashlight on/off.

Skin Swap makes Lost NVGs + More. Backpack Fine.

Me too. Lost NVG's, Rangefinder, M4, all the ammo. Pretty much everything except items in the matches/compass/map area and the stuff in my backpack. Went from Bandit to survivor and lost the lot. Soooo raging at the time as I've played this game for maybe 2 months now and have only ever found NVG's once. Lost them in under 30 mins thanks to this glitch. Was running along with NV on and suddenly all went to darkness. Thought maybe they had limited battery life or something...checked inventory and they are gone. Along with almost everything else :-( More delicious tears for Rocket. -
Yep, a friend of mine has the exact same bug. I couldn't see him at all over a prolonged period of time (20-30 mins), so it's not server lag or anything. He described his new predator suit as a "tiger stripe army uniform with nomex gloves". I could hear him moving though and on servers with crosshair can see his name pop up. Also was unable to give him a blood transfusion. Possibly cause I couldn't see him at all, but seemed to be able to open his pack. Weird.

Yep, same problem here. Twice now I've played for an hour or so and picked up more kit only to log out to do something else, log back in later and find myself back in the apartment complex in Cherno from a previous logout point, missing all the new items and back to the gear I had back then. At one point I was up round the back of Stary Sobor after a brisk hike north and ended up back there again. If your character doesn't save correctly, It really takes away the motivation.

Yep, loving the new zombie levels and other refinements, adds a little more caution to the gameplay. Not loving making my way up to Stary only to log back at a previous save point in Cherno about an hour prior. Not loving it at all. It's happened twice now and each time I'd crawled around for a good length of time to get some supplies. Even found the PDW, but lost it as all my gear was back to the stuff I had in Cherno. I can suck it up though, it's till an Alpha, and I can respect that. Maybe it's something to do with using servers in different countries or something, I dunno. Or perhaps the overwrite that should occur when logging out isn't occurring for some reason.
