Cannot Use An Item (E.g. Drink/eat) If It Is "ruined"

Please increase their durability so items are not entirely wiped out because of a single rifle shot. Not everything should be destroyed. -
Cannot Use An Item (E.g. Drink/eat) If It Is "ruined"

It's bugged. Tested. -
Barely able to run and escape. Can hear them, but only visible indication is blood dripping. Wasn't sure if this is wide spread. It seems to be the same case on multiple servers.

Anyone else being mobbed by invisible zombies?
KC_Admiral replied to KC_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
Unfortunately, the only thing we could do was run away, bandage, and log out. When we logged into a new server, without moving we were attacked by a number of zombies (judging by sounds). -
After killing someone, most items are "ruined". This assumes a bullet went through every item in the inventory, or, just because (for example) the pants were destroyed, everything in it was hit by bullets. This, unrealistically, takes all the reward for winning in PvP away from the victor. Please lesson these impacts to keep PvP worthwhile in DayZ. Suggestion: Decreasing the inventory space on items (clothing, backpacks) due to damage seems more appropriate; causing items to drop on the ground vs being destroyed automatically.

Yeah, it's understandable to a degree, however, the loot on a corpse presently looks like they were hit by a cannon.
-
The player that got the jump on him clearly missed his opportunity. Regardless, a timer for combat logging will be implemented later as things progress.
-
Combat logger is already designed and ready for implementation. It isn't yet because this alpha test is bare bones in order to test stability in the game. Rocket has already said it's going to be in. Corpse disappearing after death has also been fixed and will be in the next patch.
-
You go ahead and "prepare, plan and practice" all day long. I'd rather hunt you and take your stuff.
-
Why don't YOU punish bandits instead of relying on developers to change the way the game is played?
-
Well, some are here to make camp fires and sing songs together while playing silly emote games, but yeah, most are here for player-vs-player survival.

How about Balota airfield military loot getting removed?
KC_Admiral replied to Twixxer's topic in General Discussion
Where is this stated? Link? -
The whole game is PvP centered. That's why it's using Arma 2. Loot or no loot, players will not need a reason to kill others. Even if it handicaps themselves in some way by doing so. That's the competitive drive in this game - outsmarting your opponent.

Massive Balota Battle Against Ghosters
KC_Admiral replied to Merrick362 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
Server hopping allows more items to be tested. Searching is great and all, but the best way to test gear out is by attaining it as quickly as possible. We (testers) understand that server hopping will be fixed before release. Until then, enjoy. -
Exactly my point. The conversation changed a bit when people complained that bandits should find their own loot instead of killing others. Quite funny actually. :)

If handling situations tactically and intelligently means trusting everyone who says, "I'm friendly, don't shoot.", then more often than not, you'll find a bullet in the back of your head. I don't kill everyone I see, but I don't trust anyone outside of my group either. I don't need your gear to survive, but if it means I'll survive with a lesser amount of difficulty by taking yours, you're free game. Or, I just might want to kill you because it's safer for me not looking over my shoulder. Either way, that's why there are weapons. I don't need a sniper rifle with 20X scope to kill a zombie.
-
Killing people in the game is part of surviving. Some people just don't get that. If running up to people and emoting "hi" gets you shot, then stop doing it. Many players, including myself, play for the competitive PvP. If going to Cherno gets you in the crosshairs of some sniper on a hilltop, find another place for loot. Or, better yet, be smarter and look for ways to kill him instead.
-
The game is survival against the elements, zombies and other players. Being betrayed, or killed-on-sight, is what makes Chernarus a dangerous place to be. You don't implement thousands of zombies, harsher sickness/weather conditions, and then carebear it up to those who want others to get along and place nice. Restricting PvP and minimizing it's reward is no solution. People will work together by choice, not design.

It seems to coincide with this: http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/ad128/rnrossell/error.png Any suggestions as to what it's referring to and how to fix it? So far I've patched 1.7.1.2 and installed the ARMA2_OA_Build_93825.zip.

KC_Admiral replied to collinfz28's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This happened on Dallas 24 at 4:38 p.m. Central if it's possible to restore items. I too was affected. -
Unable to play. The error reads: ArmA 2 OA Addon 'dayz_code' requires addon 'CABuildingParts'.
