    Would this run dayz?

Don't know your budget, but and Geforce GTX 480 is $66 more with a hefty boost in performance.
  2. He means having wrong versions. Yes they are. Some server admins are too lazy to update it while some jump right on the ball. Use DayZ Commander (my favorite) or Six Launcher and search for your beta build number.
  3. I was hoping people would be able to realize I meant things that can't be disabled such as HDR.

can anybody help w running dayz

Arms 2 has a weird graphics system. You see, your Pentium processor is bottlenecking your system. Arms 2's settings work like this: Low and medium settings cause everything to be put on the CPU. Try setting stuff to high, to force stuff to be rendered with the GPU. Keep anti aliasing off and vsync and post processing off. Shadows disabled. I did this and saw a great jump in frame rates. Good luck! EDIT: SynisterSilence, I over clock my GPU in my Mac all the time. It runs at 220f while playing DayZ. Maybe I'm just lucky? Now the CPU, I wouldn't even bother with that. The slightest bump up and your screwed.
  5. Only posting because people are complaining with better performance than me... I get around 20fps everywhere. Playable, but could definitely be better. 13" MacBook Pro, mid-2010 Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz P8600 4GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce 320m 256MB dedicated, 1.5GB shared (304.79) Windows 7 Professional x64 Run at native resolution, no AA or other filtering, no shadows, everything on high or above. EDIT: Just a tip, been said many times. Having stuff below high, although it sounds like you'll get better performance, will DROP your frame rate by at least 10, unless your GPU sucks (Intel GMA, etc) because everything is being rendered by the CPU. Putting stuff on high or above makes it rendered on the GPU.
  6. I run DayZ mod on a mid-2010 MacBook Pro (13"). I have everything on high (except the special effects like post processing, AA, etc.) and get 25-30 fps. My friend has an Alienware m11x and has done everything to get it to run at playable frame rates, but gets about 2 fps (literally, no joke). My specs: 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4gb RAM, nVidia 320m (256 shared mem), 1280x800 His specs: 1.2Ghz (he says 2.6) Core i7, 4gb RAM, nVidia gt 335m (1gb dedicated mem), 1376x768 So what gives?
  7. *UPDATE* It appears he has the r2, so it is 2.266 Ghz i7. That also has a GMA x4500, and I believe the game is using the GMA, not the nVidia. So does anyone know how to force it to use 335m?
  8. That must be the problem. Although he set most to high (since that pushes it to the gpu instead of the cpu, therefore reducing the load on it)
  9. Don't know how they stand against AMD's, but I know his is definitely better.
  10. He's tried that to no avail. He runs every game BUT this better than me.

    Introduce yourselves

Names Gatortribe in game. I say I'm friendly but cautious, but I think I'm too friendly (I looked at someone with an M16A2 while holding a revolver. Didn't shoot because I didn't have it in me. Apparently he did...).
