  1. I don't even like Elysium and I've seen the post.
  2. This idea that in a "real zombie apocolypse everyone would help each other" is absurd.
  3. Not once was this situation defined as combat. My comment was an indication that I felt this scenario is as bad as combat logging, and some people took it out of context/added their own context. And yes. Obviously, it is an opinion. Just as the idea of logging out during combat being bad is an opinion, which I'm sure some people don't agree with.
  4. First of all, trying to compare something to a real zombie apocolypse is silly. It will not ever happen. Secondly, comparing it to WW2 death camps is a bad analogy. I'm not going to get in to why, it seems pretty obvious. It's a completely different situation. Don't be so sure about your claims. It's nice and all that you would probably help people in a real zombie apocolypse. But the "people would help each other" statement is not correct. I can tell you with certaintly that I would be very unlikely to help a single person who wasn't a family member or close friend. In a survival situation, myself, my family, and my friends come first. End of story. I'll do everything I can to ensure that's how it goes. I'm not one of those people that supposedly has no faith in humanity, but that's just how I feel.
  5. OP logged out after looting a backpack in order to prevent combat. Logging out to prevent combat is as bad as logging out during it. You didn't want him to turn around and kill you, so you logged out. Pretty clear cut. Might be funny, but still cheesy and low.
  6. Thanks for not disconnecting. Not sure how many of you were together in a group, but it was a fun fight that the people in my group enjoyed. Always nice to see people who like to fight back instead of Alt-f4ing. Perhaps we'll see you guys again soon. To survivor Nathan H and Atum, also on US 928. You're both bad and you should feel bad. First you run at our sniper multiple times and die. Then you decide to server hop to get to him, the cool cats you are. I do hope you enjoy the DMR, perhaps now you can experience the game without logging out. Really, the best part is how Nathan H thought it would be smart to log back in at the same spot. Thanks for the free kill. Anywho, no hurt feelings. I do feel it is important to let the community know who the bad kids are, though. Until you hide behind a name change, anyway.
  7. I guess it's acceptable to log out during combat then.
  8. I like threads like this. People fall for bait and post troll comments, and OP tries to be cool by playing the "lol obviously made up just wanted reactions" card. Good entertainment all around.
  9. I feel as though it would be fun to give you a list full of various paragraphs and then have you interpret them.
  10. I'd also like to order this one as well.
  11. Honestly? I prefer holding someone up. It's much more fun. Besides, maybe they'll turn out to be cool and want to join up. Problem is, yeah, person will probably just alt-f4. But at the same time they're probably going to do that anyways if you shoot and miss, so does it really matter?
  12. You are attempting to use a straw man or you are simply trolling. Quote the person that made the claim if you want people to think otherwise.
  13. If the profits are enough to consider adding something, that group is no longer a minority. Keep in mind I am speaking of a scenario where a minority group wants something added, but the majority adamantly opposes it, to the point where they would stop playing. In such a case, no, it doesn't make sense. However yes, in a case where a small playerbase wants something added to the game that isn't opposed by a huge group, then it's totaly possible to happen.
  14. Cute straw-man. The fact that it gained a following was a complete surprise to the man who made the game. The point of the matter is, he didn't intend it to be fun. It was made to show people who said he couldn't do it that he could, in fact, do it. Not once did I state that it currently was not fun, or should ever be not fun. You misinterpreted my words, or you're simply trolling.
  15. I didn't say I didn't think it was fun, I was simply pointing out that the person I quoted wasn't entirely correct with his wording.
  16. What is wrong with using Six Launcher or DayZ Commander?
  17. I would suggest you read the post by rocket where he quite clearly states it was never meant to be fun.
  18. Not really. Most smart companies cater to the majority. The minority playerbase is insignificant. Harsh, but true. The only time a company should ever cater to a minority group is if that group suddenly becomes the majority. This is assuming the company in question us out to make money, anyway. People don't seem to understand that a game like this is not going to be balanced a certain way. That's not the point. If you have a problem with a game, and can't bring yourself to get over it, stop playing. End of story. You are entitled to absolutely nothing. No change needs to be made to "balance" the game for you. Not liking something is a personal choice, an opinion, subjective. Similar to how the concept of "fun" is subjective and personal. If 2000 people don't like something but 30,000 people do, that's unfortunate for the 2000. This is not a matter of balance, it is a matter of common sense. That being said, most successful companies who follow a money making model will throw a bone to a minority playerbase from time to time. It's just a nice thing to do, and sometimes it even balances something out. But at some point people need to start realizing you're not entitled.
  19. This isn't how logic works in a normal discussion. You do not get to say "Well you are saying I said this, but I actually meant this" and then turn around and do exactly that. Not once did I say scripts were cool. Not once in either of my posts did I mention that someone who writes their own code is inferior to someone who writes a function from someone else' code. Please quote the exact spot where I make this claim/implication, or accept that you misinterpreted my words. You've taken "what someone offers as the alternative to that" and applied your own context to it, assuming that I was referring to the actual act of programming something or writing code. What I did do was call out the claim that saying "go write some real code" is some how an indication of ones skill, or will somehow gain them some sort of elevated status and recognition. In order for that to make any sense at all there would need to be some indication of the complexity of the code this person should be writing, the amount of time put in to it, so on and so forth. However, I will say this. The beginning of my first post quoting you was worded pretty badly, and does seem like somewhat of an attack. For that I apologize, as I'm pretty confident our opinion on cheaters is the same.
