There should be an incentive to kill zombies and rewards for doing so. You may attract bandits though so it's risky. Perhaps if you reach 50 zombie kills you earn some type of skill, 100 you receive calm aiming, and so on. Leader boards are a great way to start an end game goal. In a zombie apocalypse there will be split groups/societies. Implement a feature where you can join red or blue team for example.

Toolboxes are scarce. Axes aren't really scarce unless you go to a 50+ man server and you realize axes are as good as AK47s. There is a grocery store where you can find food, backpacks, weapons, etc. There are factories where you find car parts please add a hardware store. Toolboxes, barb wire, axes, crowbars, empty jerry cans, etc I even saw some ideas about keys for a car. I know ace hardware does key making there so that can be a designated place to get a key duplicated for a car. (search this idea) In a zombie apocalypse the top 3 places I am going are a grocery store, gun store, and a hardware store.

These MUST be addressed or this game is garbage
Glimmermang replied to ssjenforcer's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I hardly see barb wire infront of specific areas with great loot. When I do it's because there is a clan on the server and you must abide by their law. Do agree there should be some more toolbox drops though. -
Removal of Sniper Rifles and Silenced guns.
Glimmermang replied to necroslord's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
OP, we all get frustrated sometimes when we get sniped. When that happens it generally means you were not being clever and were in the open or in a spot that you should of thought about for a second and been like "hey, probably snipers looking at that spot". I've had my fair share of deaths from looking at camping tents used for bait. I killed a dude outside a grocery store with a silenced mp5 and it was the most awesome thing ever. I felt like Ding Chavez. Your idea is invalid. Uninstall or learn to zig zag and hug walls. And use 3rd person to scout before u approach cities Oh and silenced weapon ammo is hard to find, as well as rare sniper rifles and their ammo so theres a balance. When you got killed you probably got sniped by the 1 out of 3-4 players that have it on the 40 man server. Don't go in chern or elektro. Zelengorsh is one of the best places to gear up. -
Would it be nice to have it on multiple platforms, sure. Suppose Xbox or PlayStation can handle the engine. Still, there are too many commands that require a keyboard. A controller wouldn't cut it....unless microsoft or sony wake the hell up and start implementing usb keyboards/mouse to the consoles. Also, having a game on a PC is more profitable. Gaming companies lose profit on console games because they have to pay more middlemen. Having this game strictly to PC stimulates the PC gaming market.

Add more cars if you want this idea. It's already hard to find cars on high pop servers as it is.

**This post is strictly suggesting a way to implement an incentive to kill zombies and add more aspects outside of "Hey I'm a friendly...ahh mannnnn. Okay back to gathering gear to just kill another player" Currently there is no benefit of killing zombies. It's best to avoid them so you don't attract other players that will hunt you down. As this is primarily pvp based with no PvE aspect, why not implement an incentive to kill zombies? Implement "Refugee Camps" in the game. Maybe 2, 3, or perhaps 4. At these camps you can trade with other players, maybe drop items in your tent, group with others, and have a safe place to log out. These camps cannot be destroyed. You cannot kill players inside the camp or part of your "faction". If an opposing faction player comes near the boundary, they will be sniped by the AI guards from sniper towers. Incentive to kill zombies: Every active online player for your camp adds their total zombie kill count to your "camp". Maybe when you reach a certain amount a fresh car will spawn? Currency needs to be implemented: How about checking a zombie's wallet for cash. At your "Refugee" camp there can be a gun dealer when you can purchase high end weapons. If you kill a player you can take the cash that was presently on them at that time too. More cars please Put Bears in the woods. Imagine a Bear that may have a chance to spawn in the woods. This thing is tough too, maybe 10+ rifle shots to take it down. That will give you an option to take the woods and risk coming across a bear, or take the roads that may have players or zombies. World events? Have the server announce that a specific AI heli just went down in an area so camps can engage in a PvP combat in an area outside of the main cities to fight for currency or high end items? Maybe implement a radio where you can listen to the broadcasts for these? Have them at the camp site so players can sit around and listen for an "objective".
-
These camp sites which would be your faction would have AI troops that would snipe you or something so you wouldn't have opposing players coming anywhere near them. And they cannot be destroyed yo
-
It's PLAYER survival dude. There is no point to kill zombies in the game unless you really need to. If it's a zombie apocalypse game then there should a reason to kill zombies. This game is a sniper/stay alive against another player survival. If you die from zombies then you should uninstall
-
YA right now boats are really stupid, except for the dingy boat which is fast. Maybe they don't want a lot of players using boats so they don't strafe the coast and grief new players. If they implemented a fatty river that ran thru the middle of the map with bridges then boats would of been way more useful.

The "Official" FIX on trust in DayZ
Glimmermang replied to Bladez 0f Fury's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
A different type of chat channel will not change someone's trust. It may create more social players and perhaps save some lives, but ultimately people will still kill each other because there are no incentives to working together. Blood Bags are the only incentive to group with someone so you can heal each other back to full after some PvP PvZ. -
While this can be done, they may disappear on a server reset and there are no AI guards to shoot opposing "camp/faction" players. The whole idea around it is to provide a place you can trade and be part of a "guild" with some type of benefit. You don't have to join. Whether you do or not you can always still set up your own private camp sites as well with your friends somewhere in the woods.

Idea my Girl had for Cars\Trucks
Glimmermang replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
You could have the keys idea but what a player could do is this: If they have a toolbox on them they can make a mold of the "key" and go to a key store and get one. Choose to hotwire it and it's one of those bomb defusal situations where there are 3 wires and you have a 33% chance of selecting the correct wire to start it up. If you are wrong you can't mold the key at that point. So if a player wants to gamble its an all in or bust move. -
Kicked/Banned from us 401- Abusive Admin "EXILE Gaming'
Glimmermang replied to kwark's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Simply put they are childish admins. I can't tell you how many times I have been kicked/banned from a server shortly after I killed the admin that was all decked out, ambushed their clan w/ their vehicle, or stole their vehicle. Really wish there was a thread to grade server admins or just grading servers in general. If someone can mention an awesome US server where this doesn't go on I would love to know. -
DO NOT POST YOUR GLOBAL BAN APPEALS
Glimmermang replied to rocket's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Bean King, There is definitely a flaw in your scripted global bans. I have an idea how they work as I used to be in Support for Blizzard Entertainment. I was in a Novy Sober when I heard a bus come in. I started unloading at the window and a guy hopped out of the bus. Unfortunately for him he didn't know who he was screwing with and I mowed him down. They took off on the bus and I looted his body. He had a M4 Acog rifle and that was pretty much all I looted from him other than mags and a military flashlight. My buddy found a motorcycle ditched in the woods about 5 minutes later and roughly about 20 minutes later after we filled it up and got going, I received a global battle eye ban. I do not hack whatsoever and do not have any other programs running in the background. Now is it possible that the gun I looted was created by the hacker and when it exchanged to my hands your Battle Eye system ran the script and gave me the ban, that is what I am leaning towards. My buddy killed a player just before and he was all decked out, maybe the admin and he thought I was my buddy (same clan tag infront) and he banned me? I was talking in direct communication voice chat and that is also something I am suspicious about. Every time I have done that I receive a ban shortly after. It did say Global Battle Eye ban, any thoughts on this? -
Banned from 847 LOTC 2-NOt sure why I wasn't doing anything wrong?
Glimmermang posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Glimmermang here, I was just banned from your 2nd server. I was using voice chat in global a couple times and then switched to direct. Not sure if admins near me thought i was still on global? I was just collecting items with some friends and got banned. Love the server, can I get an uplift or explanation? THanks -
