There is no real difference between VDS/Dedi plans and Regular DayZ plans for the client, except the level of access you get. What's this then? We've decided to run something for the community that does not cost you any money (yes, free!). What we've done is take the characteristics of the regular hive and improved it - less lag, faster load times, support for more maps and faster instance generation times. Some could call this HIVE v2. It's very simple to use for both server hosters, server owners and clients alike. All you have to do is request an instance ID from the Vert Hosting page here, have it inserted on your server and place the database details into your configuration files. This should slide straight in to most hosts without any issues, most hosts will require a simple support ticket to get this done at the most. We will also be offering a simple download and extract, ready-to-go option. What are some of the features over the normal hive / regular private hives? Private hives are great and all, but what if the server you like to play on goes down? Time to start again on a new server. This is solved as you can just join another CommHive connected server. Faster load times as it is not as bogged down or overloaded as the main hive can be. It is also more reliable than the main hive as it uses the tried-and-tested Bliss Hive technology. Faster instance generation. A lot of people were plagued with having to wait 8+ days before receiving their instance IDs from the DayZ Team. We will have 24 hour maximum for instance generation, with instant instance generation coming soon via WHMCS modules. Easier installs, with a simple download and extract install method, you will be good to go within a matter of seconds. Support for more maps than the regular hive - we currently support Chernarus and Lingor Island and are hoping to expand to Takistan, Utes and Fallujah if we're permitted. So where do I sign up? To sign up, go here for Chernarus based servers and here for Lingor Island based servers. You will receive instructions once your instance has been processed on what to do from there, but it is very simple. You will need the latest version of Bliss Hive.

To all customers who are having issues with TCAdmin / their servers, we are working currently to fix this. Edit: We have determined that only our main Seattle node is down and are working to bring it back online. Edit 2: All nodes and subsequent servers are back online and functioning 100%. Turn around time depends on the staff available at the time. Since it is the weekend, it should be within an hour of any member of our staff receiving your order. If you order is placed within the next hour or so it will definitely be processed within an hour from that, any orders after will be provisioned from 8am onwards (it is currently 9.30pm). Same sort of thing happened on NZ 25 (around 9.30 PM GMT+12), everyone was teleported by a hacker to some island out in the middle of the ocean. I managed to abort before he killed me, so I'm still stuck out there at the moment (well, I'm currently almost dead from hypothermia from spending 20 minutes trying to swim back to the mainland).

There are two links in the email. I've got a feeling that the links aren't supposed to be posted here for a reason.

A lot of hosts (my company and ViLayer included) use TCAdmin. All that they have to do is download the latest files, zip them up and push them to all the remote servers. It takes around 5 minutes to get all the files zipped up and added to the panel and then a little longer to push the files to the remote servers. You do have to appreciate the amount of remote servers ViLayer must have, however.

Almost all servers have been updated to the latest version of DayZ and Hive. There are some servers left as they were not updated as they had a large amount of players on-line and we did not want to interrupt the services. If you still need your service updated, you can either use the Update button in the TCAdmin control panel (please turn your server off before you try install any updates) or just contact us via support ticket. All DayZ regular servers are going to be updated to 1.7.2.6 and Hive 0.7.4 in the next 24 hours. If you would not like your server updated, please send in a support ticket. To any of our customers on DAYZ-US-C1, we're sorry for the downtime. We were discussing having the RAM on the dedicated node doubled, and due to a misunderstanding between us and the technicians, they took down the server and upgraded the RAM without us saying to. This happened at 4am this morning (GMT+12 - where I live) so I wasn't up whilst this happened.
