1.7.2.4 - No Longer Worth It To Sneak Past Zombies
The True Nova replied to d00m's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Stealth is still possible but far more difficult. I now find it pointless to try and sneak around them but will do so if I don't want to alert any possible players in areas such as Elecktro or cherno. I liked the zombie sight range in the previous version and I think it would balance out the fact that zombies can now hear gun shots so if you attract one and shoot, chances are your going to go through hell to survive. -
Bag reset bug (replacing current items with older items)
The True Nova replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
This happened to my friends a bit, few times actually. 1. Hacker nuked the entire server a few minutes after he had accidentally dropped all of his items and picked it back up. Everyone dies and we all lose our stuff, we get off and the following day he joins and see's everything he had was back. I wasn't so lucky... 2. My friend found a m24 and dropped his aks for it. We left to find another server to play on because the one we are on was getting dark. He joins in the other server only to have is original items back, the AKs. 3. I picked up a AKM and dropped my AKS 74 for it but had to get off due to some issues. Get on later and have my AKS back. From what I have seen, you have to stay logged in with your newly found stuff so it saves. Not sure if this is full proof but it's what happens to me and my friends. -
Actually, their was one hacker who did spawn a attack helicopter and started moving everyone down in elektro and cherno only to have another hacker spawn a tank and blow him up who then despawned the tank. The only time I have ever seen a hacker help the server lol...

Actually, I have given some thought in regards to the idea of a point skill tree progression that resets when you die. The more you run, the quieter you get and of course you stop at some point in which you make a balanced amount of noise. The more you hunt and gut animals, the more possible steaks you can cut from the body due to experience. Ex, first starting out and you kill rabbit, you are unable to cut any steaks due to inexperience. You still won't be able to cut more than each animal can give no matter your skill progression. The more guns you use, the faster you are able to readjust aiming after firing, not less recoil just becomes easier and smoother to reaim. I still don't think it's necessary but a neat idea. Add more to this as it can be a great addition and as always all the things I have said balance out at a certain amount.

Dear GZz// Hades on US 448

If he died and his body disappeared please enlighten us how he can give your shotgun back?? If he finds another shotgun chances are he is going to kill you when he sees you. -
Will there be enough ammo once infinite ammo is gone?
The True Nova replied to WisdomSnork's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I always carry two primary weapons on me all the time, one for legit combat against zombies and players and another quieter gun for sneaking. I currently have a AKM with 3 mags and a Mp5 with 2 mags. Honestly, I don't worry about ammo because I rarely use it, I always sneak and I have only unloaded 5 rounds that was directed toward another player in the exterior firehouse in elektro who I saw kill 2 people running by. Snuck up on the building and shot him through the glass in the tower, poor scared monkey ran off while my friend watched him from the hillside. -
Play around with both and see which one you like best. Any gun can get the job done if used correctly. Also take the personal experiences of others and evaluate which one you would prefer off that.

I don't mind this idea but for me the duration of the loading screen varies server to server. Sometimes I load and spawn in less than 15 seconds and other times it could take from 5-20 minutes if I have the patience.
-
I don't know whats more funny, your reaction to them or what they are saying lol.
-
Yea I found a box yesterday in the hospital at Elektro.

Machetes could act as an alternative to axes as well so you can use that to cut wood too. Hammers- only useful and make sense if the suggestion for building your own homes was to be implemented. Baseball bats and sickles would be a nice addition and a bit more fun. 1 hand axes are not needed at all considering we already have a axe in game and it's not like your playing Wow were you can dual wield them. Hunting knives should be capable of being used as a weapon, at very least secondary.

Do you believe in being trusting of other players?
The True Nova replied to newb (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
All I have to say is that this is why the side (global chat) is a necessity. May be unrealistic but if it can get you to communicate with others easier then hell, why not. Also have a player messaging system in game to talk to individuals without anyone else seeing it would be great. -
Bring back global chat
The True Nova replied to drmantistoboggan (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The only concern there is with the global (side) chat is the issue of people talking through their mics in it. Otherwise, it does not really make the mod worse and actually benefits people, especially new ones. If you had mic's disabled on it then I see no reason why shouldn't be brought back. It's not like it is going to change anything. It is a game after all.. -
Encounters With Other Players?
The True Nova replied to jonathan213's topic in New Player Discussion
I like meeting up with other players a lot and usually give stuff and supplies away if I have my buds with me aiming guns at his face so he doesn't try anything funny. -
Tragedy.. (glitched out of my guns and killed begging for help)
The True Nova replied to shypatrick's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I feel bad for you but I bet that guy was singing this when he killed you. Just a thought on how most people think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWsJcg-g1pg -
I would like to say that Day Z is not a full fledged game yet as it is still being tested by us the "community". You can purchase arma 2 and op arrowhead and enjoy it like a game, that is the reason I bought it for but your not paying for Day z. To me Day z is a bonus I got with arma 2 so your going to have to rebuy Day z if it goes Standalone. Also, it isn't a rip off considering every call of duty is a copy paste full price exspansion pack, EX Mw2 to Mw3

Reading about things getting removed... this should be removed!... no really read it
The True Nova replied to FraGGer224's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The second part I agree with but remember, people will be people and not everyone thinks the same. I would rather have people make pointless threads for me to show them how and why they are wrong or how they are right so they actually think over their suggestions before posting. -

The True Nova replied to FraGGer224's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Please don't take this offensively but everyone is entitled to their own opinions and suggestions. Making troll threads like this just diminish your image and I see your point on how some suggestions make little or no sense but still address the person who made them and show them why they are wrong. If you truly see that those suggestions are bogus, spend 5 minutes explaining why you are against them instead of making bs threads like this. The game is great and there is always room for improvement. -
Another day and another reason why to keep playing so you can show this mod whose boss!! REMEMBER IF YOU EVER QUIT PLAYING DUE TO A BUG, YOU SIR HAVE LET THE MOD WIN. lol :)

Didn't the recent update make it so zombies can hear and see at greater distances?? I mean, it was far to difficult for me and my bud to even sneak into a town because we accidentally agroed one zombie and fired one round only to have the entire towns zombie populace charging in through the door. We blasted our way out but we wasted so much ammo and got nothing out of it. It kind of made it so it is a bit more difficult to survive.

I have read some threads concerning clans hoarding vehicles as well and read this thread and came to another solution to that issue. In conjunction with the idea of soldier AI's, military grade vehicles should have some sort of AI defense with them. Meaning, how likely are you to find a helicopter sitting in the airfield with no one in sight. Another would be a military transport just sitting there. These vehicles should have some AI in them that could deploy out and defend the said vehicle. So disregard my post of having AI roam the wilderness but rather have AI roam the streets inland in said vehicles. Longshot idea but have a military helicopter keeping cover over airfields and they will have to land periodicly to refuel. Again, just a thought on how much further the idea could be expanded.

Removal of Sniper Rifles and Silenced guns.
The True Nova replied to necroslord's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Instead of removing sniper rifles altogether, just make them far more uncommon. Sure it won't be a 100% great fix but it could limit the amount of people having them on hand and could make hoarding them just as difficult. Far as silenced weapons goes, I don't see a valid reason to remove them other than this idea. What I am about to say likely will not happen in the mod but rather the standalone itself. Instead of finding already silenced weapons, find a separate silencer altogether as a drop and attach it to existing weapons of your choice. This way you may find silenced guns with the already ridiculous idea of SD mags which is pretty stupid to me. As with most idea's, this one needs revision to include how far and realistic it can go with what kind of weapons take silencers and all the other little questions, just a thought. -
Some of these ideas would make improve day z tremendously although I do have some notes. It has been said above that a "niche" would be where day z would stand if more and more "realistic" components were placed without any sort of balance. What I am trying to say is that including things like cleaning weapons to unjamming guns would turn this game off to a large player base. I myself wouldn't mind it, but the object of this game is to be successful and acquiring a player base of casual gamers and hardcore ones needs balance in how far you would take realism. Can't have everything 100% realistic.

I found the PERFECT theme for DayZ!

Do you really have to troll... Then again I see how most people who get attached to their stuff may feel when they die. -
Opinions on Zombie Hearing and Aggro in 1.7.2.4
The True Nova replied to HollowDizzi's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It happened to me to today, me and my friend reached solchiny and we started looting the outskirts for petty supplies because a lot of pvp was happening down in elecktro and cherno (go figure) and we aggro a couple of zombies and run into a warehouse. I fire two rounds of my AKM and kill the two and I just see tons more running in, as soon as I kill the first group of five, they just double up. Me and my bud had to drop looting the place and rushed the hell up into the mountainside. I don't mind zombies hearing being fixed, just would like to have gunfire being muffled in buildings again. It does go against realism but it would a fair balance to the game.
