I find the idea of having a forced look pointless and stupid. Allow me to explain. Let us bring up the old time type of saying "realistically speaking" if a zombie outbreak were to occur I find it highly unlikely that all murderers and "bandits" would don a specific clothing to show they are indeed bad. It pretty much kills the fun of trying to figure out whether or not someone is a bandit or not. Puts you on edge and gets you thrilled. Second, most people shoot on sight so how does this help?? Third, I believe that the old bandit skin and future skins should be clothing you find throughout the game world just like camos and ghillies to give more variety on what you can wear. Four, forcing someone to wear something is plain retarded and those of you saying there should be a penalty on being "bad" when their is no structured society that dictates what is bad or good meaning anything goes in this setting of a world. Some of you may disagree and I would like to know why other than the fact that you want to meet friendlies when that "bandit skinned" guy could just have received the skin because he had to defend himself. Another note regarding the hero skins, survivor skins, the hell you thinking about putting in "hero" skins?? Hey look I transfused a bunch of my clan members to fool people into getting near me so I kill them. Random people off the coast won't know about a hero when they see them because there are no heroes or evil people out in the world, only people out there with different intentions. Your idea of good is different from the person next to you, one may believe in helping others and the other may believe killing them is saving them from the zombies. I know what I am saying sounds twisted but try and understand it from that view before shunning my opinion.

How do youtubers get so much gear?
The True Nova replied to calvin mc5's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
My bud found a legit l85 thermal from a crash site and we don't have a camp or something like that to resupply ourselves because if we die to something from the game. Other people/zombies and even hackers, I don't mind dieing because the fun of collecting it all again is the best!! The longest I have survived in game is 8 days with a m16a4 acog and a DMR all found legitimately. The Acog was taken from some player who tried to kill us. This will all probably be fixed in the upcoming standalone. -
The idea is good in theory but unless it has heavy drawbacks it would be rendered unfair for most players.

If the standalone came with a new map...
The True Nova replied to Adrian563's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Actually, I would prefer multiple maps such a single biome maps and then multi biome maps if you understand what I am saying. I am pretty sure there will be more maps than just one at least in the long run. -

Problem with this idea is this. People who alt f4 do so for different reasons and so putting limitations on everyone because select group do it is wrong. If you manage to get the whole ordeal on video this won't be necessary. Also take into account that admins are people and do not work together so everyone will have a different opinion on each situation granting unfair bans especially if the admin is involved. I would say not worry about this stuff anymore in the mod considering the final game will come out but a neat suggestion for the standalone. Once the hacking issue is resolved, I believe leaving a server would grant some kind of penalty.

NOOBHERE Possibly stupid question, but can I grab ARMA from Steam and play DayZ?
The True Nova replied to Treze13's topic in New Player Discussion
Yea you can, I have arma 2 and op arrowhead from steam and day z works just fine. -
I would say Electro because way to many players go there due to it having twice the amount of low tier military grade stuff namely the fire stations which I am referring to. Me and two of my friends were over by electro almost fully geared and were about to loot it when a ghillied sniper rushed out from the wood line and killed me. Sucks for him that my bud had a LMG and unloaded into his ass and killed him. Read about it in the day z stories thread.

Global Bans for legit players?
The True Nova replied to unhap's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Neither I nor any of my friends have banned and we have never used any sort of hack or cheat. I still find it funny though that hacking is still running rampant like yesterday when me and my buds saw about 20 buses all over the fire station outside electro with a weapon crate at the top of the tower with everything in it. It could be that in someway to those of you who claim to have been banned for no reason may have been linked to someone who did hack. Not saying your lying but just saying it's possible. -
I have a solution to the evil at green mountain...... We need to find a large clan... Willing to risk everything to lay c4 up and down Green Mountain and blow it to hell. Problem solved no??

Should the new standalone have bosses and dungeons?
The True Nova replied to Darky1307's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The only "bosses" in day z are other players who can do anything at any given moment which is more than enough as a challenge. Example when I was playing yesterday.. My and my 2 other buds see some person up the road. Us 3 were loaded with DMR, m16a4 acog, l85 thermal, MK mod 0, and all this other crap. We could have killed her if we wanted to but decided to pass and let her go. We ran off to solchiny and heard shots fired when we were running from zombies only to notice that she had been stalking us the entire time. We lost zombies through a building and I managed to get my DMR out and snipe her from across solchiny since she had the nerve to keep following us. Turns out she had a M4a1 cco and could have killed us at any time had the opportunity presented itself. Point is that the game wouldn't be the same if you had vendors or dungeons because it wouldn't make sense. It's surviving a zombie apocalypse and from people in the world. -
Never keep weapons in your backpack when you're around unarmed players... Ever
The True Nova replied to Mr-Zer0's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I would of just taken it and ran off... No need to be an ass but then again it is do or die.. -
Hacker in Cherno.. Raining buses and cows
The True Nova replied to Zyloh (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I find the cows humorous actually and wouldn't mind that lol. I would rather have random funny crap like that happen than nuking an entire server. -
Well this would be the first extreme feeling and experience on day z I have ever had so far. Let's start off, me and two of my friends joined in were we last logged off being on the coast by balota. I had a m16a2 with m203, bunch of food and drink, with basic tools ready to go such as map, binocs, etc.. One of my friends had a L85 with thermal and infrared laser and a g17 with basic supplies. My last friend a Remington 870 and cz550 with basic stuff as well with a revolver. We started heading towards cherno in which we looted the medical tents for med supplies. Cherno was a breeze with no one in sight and we looted like free men and headed down to electro. As we left cherno we went on the mountain across from the lighthouse inbetween electro and cherno. We scanned the area and noticed a destroyed vehicle with a couple of dead bodies around it. I noted a survivor with a hatchet going towards them with my binoculars. I told my buds to let the guy pass but one of my asshole friends promptly shot him in the face with his CZ and the bodies had nothing of value on them so we headed towards electro. The guys name was Arthur... As we made it to the hills overlooking electro, we spread out a bit and I was crouched up on the hill with my two friends following suit slowly down the hill. Suddenly a ghillied player with a mk48 and svd camo shot and killed me in which I yelled guy to the left. My buds killed that guy and gathered a supply of satchel charges and his various weapons and nvg/rangefinder. His name was monkeyman16 and we noticed him leave soon after he was killed. As I spawned by solchiny, I began running back to the spot were we were I was killed in hopes of getting my gear back. My friends were guarding the spot until I came. Over skype I hear my friend who had the cz yell and noticed he was killed. My friend with the L85 turned and shot/killed a player who snuck up behind us. My friend was hit before he killed him so they both died. My friend with the l85 spawned at the base of the hill and ran up and looted his gear back and stood watch. We checked the guy who kill them and to our shocking surprise it was Arthur. Talk about karma lol. I received my gear back and we were waiting for my other friend to get to us. We stood watch and waited till he got there and he also got his stuff back. My and my friend with the L85 logged because we were done for the night when my other friend noticed another survivor running up the hill with a handgun. My friend had hidden all the bodies so the loot was all gone and logged when he saw him. All in all a great experiance but sure as hell lucky.

Things That Would be Awesome
The True Nova replied to SSJason (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I frankly don't understand what the hype is about War z and the constant threats that you will jump to that. Don't be too eager because for all you know it could fail. Chances are your going to get both because from what has been presented in regards to war z, they will be two different styles of the same genre. Stated countless times before, Day z is a mod and will most likely and hopefully get fixed up if it becomes standalone. -
Electro Super Market Massacre **Watch**
The True Nova replied to InfamousTrigz's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
I don't really understand why you bothered wasting ammo on the first guy but whatever. -
People who complain about DayZ. STOP.
The True Nova replied to yumey95's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
People have a right to complain on the forums and they do so regardless of what is stated here. Their complaints keep this future game alive showing there is a decent sum of people still interested in it and wish to see complete some day. The bugs or whatever else is complained about need to be addressed time and time again to ensure they are fixed. Half of all the posts here are irrelevant and unnecessary as are the numerous times threads about the same issue are raised. Just because people are complaining, does not mean you have to respond to every damn one as if you are all expected to respond. Not everyone will go through the forums and dig up old threads on the same topic, fairly easier to make a new one and if they do, readdress their threads and explain why or why not this or that will happen or why the way it is. If you care enough for the game itself and it's playerbase, take the time to actually correct them and answer their questions, if they don't want to listen to reason, too damn bad. Don't insult them, don't put them down, just say what you know is right and leave it at that. -
The idea of building up zones to be "safe zones" could be done in a different way. This is my idea of having temporary safe zones. In order to deem a town "safe" a event would happen in which a player or group of players must liberate a city from zombie inhabitants. Once the zombies have been removed, a small amount of NPC's would spawn to defend the said town. zombies would spawn in the exterior of the towns and try and overrun the town again but the town has it's preset defenders. Those defenders fight off zombie hordes but do not have infinite amounts of ammunition therefore cannot indefinitely defend the said town. The npc's would spawn with handguns but can given any higher tier weapons with ammo to help defend. It's actually up for discussion so I am not saying that should be exactly as I say it. The zombie attack could happen once every hour and in between you have time to rearm. Any loot zones will stop respawning so it is fair and the zone can be used for whatever reason. However, if someone kills another player, all guards in town immediately become hostile towards that one player and will attack and kill the said player on sight. This would prevent the emergence of 100% safe zones because they won't always stay and can moved. Main cities and airports all the way to military locations cannot be liberated as they would be near to impossible to clear realistically speaking.

Make everyone infected from spawn with just 24 hrs till they turn...
The True Nova replied to zonn44's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I would rather have you being far more capable of being infected rather than starting with the infection because your not really a survivor if your going to become a zombie... Also, antibiotics are rare as it is and I have only found 1 box and with this people will never find them because everyone will constantly hoard them. -
Plz help a newb enter hospitals and a couple other things! thanks!
The True Nova replied to redmantab's topic in New Player Discussion
Try shooting or throwing something at the glass on the edges of the hospital which usually cause them all to break. Far as the hatchet, the only way I know how to equip it while having a main gun is to either drop the gun or put it into your backpack that has at least 10 free slots for the gun itself. Then remove the hatchet from toolbelt and there you go. -
Some of what I may say probably has been repeated above. 1. NEVER and I say NEVER get attached to the stuff you find because you WILL die at some point for one reason or another and lose it all. 2. Your first day or two may just be getting accustomed to the game mechanics and how everything works. Use the arma simulators to get a feel of things. 3. Read on the forums and search for tips and tricks on how to play the game. As you play, you will become much more comfortable with the game controls and how zombies work and locations on the map. Also realize that the game may become frustrating when you first start out so keep trying until you get the hang of it.

Yea man, I feel your pain!! I was with 2 other buddies of mine while we were in the woods making our way to the NE airfield. Bam.. everyone on the server which was 40 people teleported onto a building and a grenade went off killing us all.. I had a AKM with 2 mags, MP5 with 2 mags, 4 food, 4 drink, hatchets, map, and all that good stuff. My friends had an M16, winchester, and m4a1 with a shotgun. Lost everything but my friend Alt f4'd right when we were teleported so he kept his M4a1 and all his good stuff, me and my other bud weren't as lucky.

Play in first person, problem solved.... -
I find it funny that people are always threatening to leave and play war z when we all know well enough they will continue playing Day Z. For all I care, Rocket can take care of "his" mod whenever he see's fit because this mod is more or less an experiment in my eyes to see if he could produce something like this in the future. This mod isn't the final product and take into consideration that it is a mod that you are playing for free. He is not liable to fix anything you don't like about it and he could just drop the whole mod whenever he pleases... I understand that the bugs are issues that we all have to deal with and we all want things to change. Going on the forums and demanding isn't going to make it fix any faster. Sit tight, suck it up, enjoy the mod and good day. When War z comes out, play it a bit, and compare it to the final product of Day z if it comes out ;make your decision on which one to play.
