    I'm not quite understanding why you think I don't have any friends far less how you think it's relevant to the topic. In any event, allowing players/friends/clan members to meet up 'quickly' is not conducive to DayZ nor is it fair for independent players to come across large clans who've met up by means of mashing the respawn button or being given the choice of spawn locations. This is a survival game. Not an "everyone spawn together" game. The map is 255 square kilometers... USE IT! If you know how to navigate and read a map/compass properly, then meeting friends is not a problem. Yes, it may take 15-20 minutes, as you said, but you'll have a better appreciation for your life (and the welfare of the group) as not to make risky life-threatening moves. Here's the bottom line: DayZ is designed to be unforgiving.

    You sometimes need to shoot at several pains of glass. Sometimes it breaks instantly. Sometimes it takes several shots. Also, once the glass has been broken, it will automatically repair itself after like 20 minutes or something.

    Rocket is trying to find ways to improve server performance by despawning dropped items... Not bog it down with 'washed up items' on shore. Terrible idea. Also agree with what Azrail said.

    I fuckin lol'd. :P Honestly though, I feel your frustration. I lost 3 vehicles so far due to server restarts/roll-backs. And to the wanker that said "alpha": gtfo.

    Oh please. DayZ and ArmA 2 is also about adventure and roaming the vast landscape. If the size of the map scares you simply because you're 'unfamiliar' with it, then you should consider going back to playing CoD. :\

    I support this idea. You'd need a cap though on the number of lives players can regenerate. Maximum should = 3.

    That would be the best idea if the game wasn't as buggy as it is. The respawn is necessary in the event of spawning in the debug plains or spawning into the ocean from the guillie suit bug. Or what if you broke your legs by falling down a steep rock in the mountains and you don't have any morphine? You'd need to crawl for hours to finally get back to civilization and find a zombie to put you out of your misery. The respawn button itself is NOT the problem. It's about finding a way to stop players from abusing it.

    Terrible idea. Cherno and Elektro are already over-populated enough as it is on 40-slot servers. And what's the point of killing a player if they can simply spawn back into the same area? I like the satisfaction in knowing that they must walk for 30 - 45 minutes to get back.

    This idea has been suggested before. I agree that you should be asked "are you sure you want to respawn?" so that you don't accidently kill yourself. However, it doesn't really matter if you apply the same concept prior to disconnecting since most people just press ALT+F4 to avoid death anyways. Rocket mentioned that he's trying to work on a system to prevent disconnecters (such as a logout timer).

    My suggestion: if you can remember which server(s) it happened on, don't play on them anymore. Also, it isn't necessary to frequently hop servers to ensure it saves. You can test this for yourself using the same server. Just disconnect to the player-list and click "join". Your progress is stored on the central servers, so by disconnecting, you will be receiving your latest progress on-file. Generally, however, this is not a problem if you play on reliable servers. Coming from someone whose played on close to every server in DayZ, I'd say that the Dallas servers are the most reliable and I've never had an issue with them. Only negative thing I would say is that they rarely pre-warn before a server reset.

    I've experienced the same problem with some servers. It happened to me a couple times on NYC8. I don't believe ANY update is responsible for this glitch since this only happens very rarely on a few servers. My guess: it has something to do with the auto-save timer (which saves your progress every few seconds) or perhaps the server is not relaying your progress to the central servers. This issue, for the time it lasts, affects EVERYONE'S progress on the server.

    Some servers reset every 6 hours.... Does that mean people only have 6 hours to find a vehicle, repair it, and drive it before it's gone? Hardly seems worth the effort, don't you think? D:

Based on my in-game experience thus far (and correct me if I'm wrong) I'm assuming that: 1) Vehicles will no longer spawn on a server once the 'cap' has been reached and they've all been fixed, taken, and hidden. 2) Vehicles can de-spawn if they're destroyed (thus putting that vehicle back into circulation and re-spawning in another spawn point across the server). So, in theory, an 8+ member clan could easily monopolize an entire server's vehicles and hide them in remote areas making them almost impossible to find (especially if hidden in the debug area outside the map). That being said, here's my questions: Q#1: What's the "official" word on players going into the debug forest? I know Rocket made a thread about it being against the rules to kill loading players there. But, in general, is it off-limits? Is storing vehicles there "legal"? Q#2: This is more of a suggestion, but I think it would be wise for all servers to reset the vehicle cache (say once a month?). That way it'll give solo players a fighting chance to claim a vehicle before an organized group takes them all and hides them hundreds of kilometers outside the map.

    I agree. If they were to disable vehicles from being allowed to save outside the map, then resetting the vehicle cache wouldn't be a necessary measure to prevent hoarding. Thanks for your reply.
