Start liking the DMR. If you don't like the .50s then the DMR is your next best bet...if you're good with it. Requires lots of practice.

After about a couple days of playing I finally had enough gear to start venturing north. I ran up to meet a friend and his squad in Stary. As I was skirting the town in the treeline, a guy jogged out of some bushes about 100m ahead of me. Clearly doing the same thing as me, he continued scouting along the trees....with me hot on his heels, slowly catching up. He kept stopping to scope his DMR at the town, looking for people to kill...or avoid. Finally, after pursuing him for 2-3 minutes, I had a clear shot and took it with my Lee Enfield. This was back before they got nerfed, so the guy instantly slumped over. + DMR + Rangefinders + Coyote Pack + everything I needed to round of my tools and supplies. Great first kill. Dumb luck that he popped out of the treeline ahead of me rather than behind me.

My friend and I were sniping noobs in elektro when some kid says "friendlies in elektro?" My friend tells him to meet him at the school/office and that there's a UAV there. My friend instructs him to get in the UAV and wait. ... The kid shows up, gets in the UAV, and my friend shoots him with a grenade from the M16A2 M203, blowing up him and the UAZ. We get another UAZ from our stockpile (the non-hive server we play on has a vehicle duping bug currently) and park it in the same spot. Shortly thereafter, another noob falls for the bait and hops in the jeep. My friend takes aim and....misses high, sending a cascade of fire down on the noob, now undoubtedly shitting his pants. The noob, however, has the wherewithal to hop over to the driver seat and try to drive away. He FLOORS it and turns around the corner down the road in front of hospital. I manage to snipe the front passenger tire with my DMR, sending him into the wall at the end of the street at full speed. The jeep violently explodes, killing its occupant.

DMR and I'm set. Best countersnipe gun in the game. While they're out there zeroing their AS50, I down them with mil-dot aiming. Takes a lot of practice and knowledge of terrain. Shooting range is an awesome arma 2 mod.

next to an AS50, the FAL is the best gun I hope for at c-sites. you can't get ghillies or rangefinders at them. seriously, do NOT underestimate the effectiveness of the FAL...it's the best AR in the mod hands down.

i shot a hacker in the neck last night with a DMR as he was sniping noobs with his AS50 thermal in elektro. killed him. so he nuked me. just abort when you see hackers. i've never not aborted when i've seen a hacker without regretting it later.

just quit and play the release version. or don't. who cares?

once measures are taken to prevent duping and infinite ammo exploits end-game will be significantly more difficult. AS50s will be impractical because the ammo will be far too rare. Same with many other "end-game" rare guns. Tents and vehicles won't be brimming with duped end-game guns and ammo.

afaik BE is really good about only banning hackers and rocket has specifically said that you won't get banned for simply picking up a hacked gun--only get banned for spawning it in. there's a good chance he actually was hacking and doesn't want to appeal it because he knows he'll lose the appeal.

if nothing happened when you tried to fire (and there wasn't a click from no ammo) then your weapon was most likely in the "down" position. did you try firing twice or just once? because left clicking brings up your gun when its down

this. it simply means there's a hacker on the server. the smart thing to do is abort, though, regardless of the hacker/s' intent.
