  1. Not if you have so much loot farmed you can instantly re-equip your mates. Its more of an annoyance then a real set back.
  2. This isn't an exploit. That said it removes just a bit more mystery and sense of being lost from the game, essentially creating another environment of chores. Very dull. If its possible so be it but my hope is that the ability to easily farm loot is tackled via one method or another.

    Fun to done in less than 30 minutes...

    You bought ARMA2. Arma2 works perfectly fine. You then installed a mod in alpha, this mod is under heavy development. You did not purchase this mod. Do you notice the difference? OP and a few others need to go have a cyanide breakfast.
  4. I voted Yes on head shots. However I think the best idea would be that a head shot would have a 100% chance kill rate. Limb shots would have a 0% kill rate, but would disable / break limbs. However to kill with body shots should require A LOT of firepower or organ damage (i.e From larger rounds). Pistols 1 shot killing in the torso is a huge thrill killer. This would also make ammo much more precious.
  5. I'd say its against the spirit of the game but I'm a little old fashioned with the notions of integrity and fairplay. In the old days we called this "ghosting", that was spectating others and telling your friends where the enemy was and was greatly shamed and looked down upon. This is no different imo.

    All that is need to reduce the whole KOS issue is player tools that allow people to establish some semblance of order. This includes Intel sharing, notoriety, familiarity and the ability to share these things with others that you come into contact with. A natural standing would also help, I see your face (ie within 50m of you) you then shoot me, in the future you'll show up red when I put my crosshair over you (only within X meters) simulating the fact I know what you did to me. Yes I'm aware thats not how real life works, guess what we don't respawn irl so we have to work around it. Additionally anyone with high familiarity with ME (Blue) will also see you as red. Someone with no familiarity with me willl have no change as they have no allegiance nor an understanding of the situation. However, they could choose to set us both to red if they so choose. Some kinks to be worked out, but atleast this forces no one out of their prefered style and would help people (those so inclined) begin to trust each other.

  9. No game forced penalties are needed. What is need is available tools for people to enforce their own penalties on people. Intel, Familiarity, notoriety. The ability to construct (and destroy) radio towers to broadcast said things to others which then allows them to I.D hostiles, friendlies and groups etc through colour coded and distance based text. Long story short. Dayz needs Toolz. Not arbitrary penalties. That said I still like the heartbeat idea since we need a gut feeling mechanic.

    KDR is the last thing that should be encouraged in this mod. Any "intel" based stats should remain unknown. As for taking this mod seriously, You know what? Yes I am taking it seriously because its the first game to come along in a looooooooooooong time that isn't watered down shit that the modern gaming industry seems intent on spoon feeding the shit for brains masses. I would like ONE DAMN GAME to maintain some sense of mystery and adventure without having to put myself at a disadvantage because of spreadsheet and heat map fuckers. The loot tables were face palm worthy enough. /end rant
  14. Bandits are always fucking sulking. Do you people not live in the REAL WORLD? Animals are not stupid, if you constantly provide food wether directly or indirectly certain animals will notice and begin to follow you around. Birds are ESPECIALLY known for this .. Seagulls, ducks, stray cats and dogs.. the list goes on. Fucking care bear bandits... This actually makes sense unlike a random skin morph and you still cry.

    Killing Sprees need consequences

    This has been suggested a few times, mainly in the form of suffering psychological effects due to certain behaviour as most would in todays world. Paranoia, ptsd and hallucinations etc depending on the severity and access to hospitals for psych meds to keep your shit together if that's how you want to play.
  17. Agreed with pretty much everything. We need to spawn with absolutely nothing on us, including backpack. As well as having zero chance at carrying EVERYTHING we need to wander and explore. At least not without severely hindered movement speed.

  20. You are a care bear. You are crying when someone suggests making the game harder for you (Even thought this design targets EVERYONE). That makes your a care bear. Also lol.. combat vests are made to hold items with sharp corners (ie square, rectangular) not cans of beans. Like a said... TRY IT. These ideas FORCE nothing of you. You simply wish to be a 1man/woman god. That is not realistic, or even as rocket put it capable of "suspending disbelief" .. Like I said already. ADAPT OR DIE CARE BEAR. No one is forcing you to cooperate, you are more then free to create a stash and horde items.
  21. Don't stress Cain, most people have zero reading apprehension. I blame the parents. Any ways ... Your ideas are on the right track for encouraging team work without forcing it. Realistic carry amounts and weight affects is a great idea and one I've been throwing around in my own mind. I'd go so far as to say something like cans of beans should not be able to be carried on your person, only in a backpack. Seriously, try pack 1 or 2 cans of beans IN YOUR POCKETS and go for a job... let me know how that goes. Like wise someone with a full personal inventory and full alice pack should be moving slower and require more energy. Some say this is about removing bandits?? No, it is not. How can a bandit survive if they cannot carry everything??? Like they would in real life, by having a home, a lair, a stash .. somewhere they return back to with their spoils after a successful hunt. That is the mark of a real bandit, not some weekend warrior. To all the bandits who are sooo scared of any change that will harm their lols method of gameplay I have only one thing to say. ADAPT OR DIE CARE BEAR BANDIT.
  22. Hey rocket. Here's a mechanic. Player deaths multiply zombies spawn numbers in x hundred meters/kilometres for X hours. 1 or 2 people die? No worries. Death match occurs? Prepare for zombie infestation of a zone. I don't care how its justified. They can come from the smell of rotting corpse, or the sound of gunshots. Either way it makes sense and doesn't FORCE players in or out of a decision.
  23. I'd more then happily pay $25-50 for a quality stand alone product. I'd even buy expansions as long as I was still playing the game and they made sense. Micro transactions in a game like this would be detrimental beyond repair. Hell i'd even pay a small sub ($5-10) if you wanted to go for the 10x larger map and 10x more people per server route. The sub for people who are thick is needed to cover server architecture. My only issue with that though is that no mmo's have an Australian based server so pings are always 200-500. (thats bad) Donations are definitely a losing battle. Honestly a risky idea, most will never give a dime and those that do will soon grow tired. At the end of the day my blanket suggestion is do what needs to be done to make sure your creation survives in some maintainable form that gives you total control over is creative direction.
  24. Some things I'd like to point out for the rejects. - Starting traits/professions has nothing to to with mmo's. - Starting with a skills wont change your ability to play as yourself. It'll just give others a reason to consider hailing you rather then shooting you. - People ask for reasons to work together, if only a surgeon can remove bullets, a Doc diagnose illness and a nurse expertly apply bandages and morphine then you have reasons to TRY WORK TOGETHER. JUST LIKE IN RL OMFG. - OH NOES People will spam respawn. Easy fix tards. Regardless of death you must have your profession for X hours/Distance travelled in game time before death will grant you another. Distance travelled prevents idling also. - You guys are always begging rocket to make the game harder. This is a great way to do so. - Just like in rl, people should be able to fill different roles and contribute to a group in a unique way. This starting system also negates any need to have a skill/levelling system in game. - Last time I checked you probably don't know how to fix a helicopter, let alone a car. So much for "playing yourself". If it wasn't clear, I support this idea as I think it would add a lot of incentive and depth to the game. That being said. I'd still change some of the ideas and add a whole lot more. There needs to be SOMETHING in the game that makes us different other then gear.
