Unfortunately, the "It's an Alpha" argument doesn't work here. Rocket has said himself just a couple of days ago that there is very little the mod itself can do to combat hackers, that lies in the hands of BI and BattleEye. People need to understand - They are hacking the game, not the mod. The game is not in Alpha. EDIT: Here is that very quote: -
The annoying thing is, I LITERALLY just finished setting up DayZ for my friend, I was browsing servers while he was on the phone for a sec, backed out of the menu to tell him to change his video settings, went back on multiplayer and got this -.-

PLEASE make it a game purchase only. I don't know where this 'free to play is the future' bull is spawning from, but it's terrible. (I should imagine it's from kids playing Farmville or something). Not only does 'free to play' end up costing a bomb for the consumer through 'micro-transactions', it easily becomes pay-to-win, and those willing to buy every goddamn hat the devs put in the game get the biggest advantage >:( As for servers and development models, the community should come first and we can run our own servers :)

Maximize Frame Rate On DayZ and Arma2 - Low Frames Fix

Gave me an extra 10 FPS indoors, up to 70FPS, but I still dropped to 30 in forests. Interestingly, the latest beta patch has now made my frame rate more consistent, so it is always around 40 (in forests) to 55FPS but it never seems to go above that now... In other words i've lost max FPS to gain a steadier overall value. Edit: On GTX 570 -

While in Kamyshovo, I was searching for food with a friend. I aggroed an infected and so began to run away, seeing as I was completely unarmed. Running in the direction of Krutoy Cap, I get shot. *Sigh* Look, i'm all up for PvP, but: 1) I was completely unarmed, doing that retarded sprinting animation trying to get away - why would he even want to kill me? 2) It would have been SO much more badass if he shot the god damn infected, becoming an absolute saviour out of nowhere. Just thought it'd share this cause it was pretty ridiculous and had potential to be so awesome :P

Also, would like to know: are people only seeing improvements with SLI / Xfire setups? I've heard it was a bit screwed and only using 30% ish of each GPU resulting in low FPS so maybe this was fixed... Anyone seeing improvements with a single GPU?

Does this just mean if you install 1.62 you can't play online on servers running v1.60 and 1.61? I can still install beta 95168 on the current version 1.61, right?
