Radio station music in standalone?
Maca (DayZ) replied to spofny's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Sorry Op but do you really want to hurt me. Do you really want to make me cry. I love the 80's, its making a come back. Who's Phil Collins, Boy George all the way. -
Why do you chose Dayz over Origins
Maca (DayZ) replied to linuxas21's topic in New Player Discussion
Its just not the sort of mod i'd be interested in trying. Also your comment on "DayZ silly deathmatchers" is your opinion and I respect that, but find it hard to believe Origins is a world apart when it comes to deathmatch or pvp in general. As Klesh has mentioned in his post above and what information is out there at the moment about base-building in the SA. It looks like the same mechanics will be implemented, hence you will still be at risk of it being discovered and ransacked. Now with the crafting system who knows you may be able to set booby-traps or early warning devices, to deter someone from looting. we'll just have to wait and see. I've also given up on tents in DayZ vanilla a long time ago, to be honest once i manage to obtain an alice backpack that's all i would ever need. -
This should answer what you need to know. @3:35 list of Zeds you have to kill. I think it might have a time limit, but if you log out at all then that ends the streak. So you basically need to kill between 15-30 zombies in a certain amount of time without logging out in order to get any humanity.

Brilliant work Vandal, is it weird that i was singing along to that video, then again just look at the thread i'm in. (Its like something from the twilight zone).

Why do you chose Dayz over Origins
Maca (DayZ) replied to linuxas21's topic in New Player Discussion
I see your point about the hardwork in the beginning to find the resources you need to build your house. But from what i understand as you stated in the above post the "codepad system" is such an immersion breaker, because once you have a safehaven set up and nobody can ransack it if they happen to come across it, then your characters life is just irrelevant and for me that's the main reason i've never tried the Origins mod. It just seems to lack that fear of losing everything you worked so hard for in the beginning, once you find your first blueprint and of course codepad ect. -

I foresee a lot of hostage taking and blood becoming some form of currency, as renegades start to setup blood clinic facilities across Chernarus. Survivors will just be corralled and drained of blood, life will never be the same again.(Just imagine the scene from The Road in the basement, minus the cannibalism factor). With the new medial system i think it's about time I dust of my doctorate in ID infectious Disease (I wish) or learn as i go. The standalone is going to have such a hard learning curve, that it's inevitable people will become frustrated and it puts the focus on us as players to reevaluate or form of gamestyle. Which to some gamers is an unwritten rule you just don't cross. But for many others, we just relish in the challenge. Can't wait...... -
Why do you chose Dayz over Origins
Maca (DayZ) replied to linuxas21's topic in New Player Discussion
To be honest from what i've seen and looked up about origins (Never played it), It defeats the purpose as to why you would even want to play an outbreak survival game/mod. They could even remove the infected and I doubt the playerbase would notice, now that's how i just interpret it. The fear and paranoia of losing your "Beanz" has to be non-existent in origins with the unlootable houses ect (Like any other game with a global inventory). If all you have to do is respawn and "endgame" gear up at your safe-haven, just seems to take away from that raw feeling you get with DayZ vanilla. As in nothing is guaranteed be it setting up a tent or stashing your vehicle. If you're luck nobody will stumble across it. Having a GI in the form of a house in the middle of a field just kills it for me, hence why I've never given it ago. But each to their own. -
What guns would you like to see in SA?
Maca (DayZ) replied to WBK's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Think i'll just stay with the more simple approach when it comes to guns, less attachments the better. Can't see myself scoping someone with this. -
If you could revenge kill the first guy who spawn killed/betrayed you in this mod...
Maca (DayZ) replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Couldn't tell you as my search is still continuing to find the judas who betrayed me over a year ago. All i do know is he was wearing a baseball cap, small backpack and had a Makarov also in his mid 20's, if anyone ever comes across this person please let me know and swift justice shall be carried out. (Sharpens axe). -
I would have also chosen the hatchet, but unfortunately S & P (sounds like something nasty) put it in before me *Cough*. Anyways I'd have to go with the M4A3 CCO or Makarov.
-
Dual weapons, please tell me nooby hasn't gone over to the darkside. Scriptkidies just joking. As always great work, hope you had a nice vacation. Now back to work and produce Episode 31. ;)
-
What is this YOLO you shout? I'm to old for this internet slang.
-
Wasn't expecting that twist (Sniper Sam) in the story, thought Nooby was fcuked. looks like it's about to kick off.

Things About The Mod That Suck Thread
Maca (DayZ) replied to Ghoul_Life's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I can't "skin the apple orchard" up at Berezino or even pick a few to throw at the infected. -
You may want to cool off a little my friend, you have your opinion and i've mine. Anybody can throw around the term "Fanboy" loosely, nobody was attacking any of your posts, so i fail to see why you would go of on a rant. You seem to hold a grudge for some apparent reason towards a game which in all fairness hasn't been released yet? I've bought Arma 3 so i know what it's capable of, best of luck with the DayZ port (if you're working on it) and if i hear promising things about it, you never know i might give it ago myself. Being a "Fanboy an all" of anything DayZ related.
-
Very good point about the buildings klesh, the Arma 3 buildings are to Mediterranean and lack any form of decay in which we have seen from the SA screenshots for chernarus. Don't get me wrong might be a nice port over, but I feel it may lack to create that certain atmosphere. Which they are trying to create with the standalone buildings ect....

I kind of knew who G000gle is/was (Banned), hence the winking smiley and beans. I wasn't a fan, but he had his funny moments.. Maybe if he is added daisy could do one of her famous crotch attacks. :D
-
I'm so sick and tired of god damn zig zagging to get my launch, when it's just straight in front of me, AaggaGGhGhghGhGhghhhh.
-
Who is this "G000gle" ;) keep them coming JeffD. brilliant.

So zombies are just a nuisance again in 1.7.7.1
Maca (DayZ) replied to kumando's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I never had any problems with using my trustworthy hatchet in close contact with the infected, be it Viral infected ect.. I quite enjoyed the uncertainty of any given encounter with the infected in the 1.7.7 patch. But then again that's just my style of play, it brought back the immense feelings of emotions in which any situation with the infected could be your last. I have great admiration for the Dev's in what they're trying to achieve (bugs and all). To bring the best possible gaming experience and balance in which we all can enjoy (But unfortunately not everyone will). We all need to consider that this is an ever "revolving door" and problems will arise. Nothing is ever perfect. -
Found a duping bug in latest build
Maca (DayZ) replied to jimdude101's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You mean this http://dayzmod.com/f...what-hit-them/y the dev's know about it. Have a look at the video quite hilarious. -
Dupers in 1.7.7 don't know what hit them
Maca (DayZ) replied to blancharke's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Well played good sir, just epic. -
He'll have to team up, no bandit ever setup base alone. Especially a bandit with a sexy German accent.(Every bandit in Chernarus will want to get into that base). ;) Nooby might need the help of a "hero".

If you're having no luck in Electro or Cherno i would suggest the hospital at Berezino. Anytime i've looted that area it's ok nothing great (Haven't see a medical box in a hospital yet) but have come across bloodags and the "Holy Grail" antibiotics.
