It's just a small transition snake2356, most if not all of us have been in that same predicament. Be it from the mod or now standalone, the quicker you come too terms with the fact that in DayZ anything can and will end your life. You'll get a lot more enjoyment out of looting, exploring new parts of the map and even some encounters with the "Friendly/not so friendly" locals. This endgame gear is just a static goal for some players and can hinder their experience because after all it's all about the challenge and experience you want to get out of this game. This game(experiment) is suppose too frustrate you and make you paranoid otherwise why play it. Hope you manage to overcome your login phobia and get out there and enjoy the DayZ experience for what it is. Some beans for your journey. :beans:

Very good rydekk, I also love the nights and still jumped out of my chair @1:28.... The only thing missing for the nights at the moment is the good old flares. Looking forward too the next scary encounter . :lol:

I foresee a lot of "William Tell" humorous moments, with a few casualties. Lets hope they add the crossbow.

This is my last character, found myself a nice new blue beret at Green-mountain after returning from an exploration in the upper-north of the map. Just make it down too Chapaevsk outside of Chernogorsk in time for a beautiful sunset, so I decided to make my way too one of the rooftops of the high-rise buildings and just take in the scenery. Alas while climbing the last two ladder rungs he's mesmerized by the view in which he's confronted with and misses the last rung. Breaking his neck instantly. And all along I thought the Green-mountain curse would forever reside in the mod. I think not. Just a nicer why of being piss-off losting ones gear, not really pissed about the gear but I missed the sunset ;)

I've just posted a screenshot below of how dark it really is ingame. Is it that dark on your screen? without exploiting the gamma & brightness.

I've no problem seeing at night........ What did you think the flashlight was for? Using the excuse that everybody else is doing it, so you'd be at an disadvantage is just an excuse in itself.

Inception has sent him to the furthest out most parts of Chernarus, in an attempt too teach him some decorum. One will just have to wait and see.

A bit of an unpredictable character you may not want too meet in the dark of the night or day come to think about it. (He is Irish). ;)

Sure why would he tell you when he could use his divine powers (hopping on a roof) and just find what server you're on. He is the "Special one" after all.

Totally agree I've had many a great adventure on night servers and as you stated they could tweak the darkness, just a little. Even last night I happened to lose my bearings (for 2 hours+) in the darkness and I was tempted too open up the menu and adjust my "gamma & brightness. But I taught to myself what's the point, all I'll be doing is taking away the difficulty and experience of traversing across Chernarus. Hope they add flares into the patch after this one. If you're just hopping into a night server to gear up, then you're missing the point of DayZ, but this seems to be the norm at the moment. As the OP has clearly point out.

Wasn't there something about seals back in the day when "Cangate" gripped hold of the community. But unfortunately Rocket came out in protest and so they where never implemented, quite a shame really. Sorry mods for reposting these pic's, but they seemed quite fitting with the topic at hand.

@Kos. I totally understand where you're coming from, but as you know DayZ involves many playstyles. No matter how much this discussion comes up you will always have certain people which will not agree. To be honest I'm on the fence about the hole 1st/3rd debate, sometimes I like the challenge of 1st and other times 3rd is just convenient for me. Each to their own. I'm not like you, a murderous raging bandit. Just joking. :D

It's not what he was trying too put across is the fact with 3rd you would see something that in 1st you wouldn't or would just miss, so in some circumstances the encounter may or may not happen. Which could lessen kos, it's just another way of getting a bias opinion across.

very one-sided, most of the polls usually are. You have a very unique why of getting your point across, so can you blame people having a stale reaction. It's not like there hasn't been god knows how many topics & polls already, people just need to let it go and worry about the core of the game before any other discussion. I'm not insulting anybody but the 1st/3rd camps are starting to sound a lot like the steam forums at the moment. Myself personally couldn't care less, but when it's blatant and bias too one side then it's just not a poll I'm afraid.
