That isn't how the hive system works at all, every server on one hive has to use the same map (as well as other mods)
-
Allows you to easily make sets of mods, and easily switch between and update them. (I have a DayZ_Lingor + ACE + Lingor profile for the DayZ + ACE on Lingor Island server, an ACEX + ASR AI mod for singleplayer missions, and another modset for private MP missions)

hacker removed my Bandit skin

Be happy you lost the forced free-fire target on your back. -
Six Updater is pretty good if you play more than just DayZ/Vanilla ArmA2. Don't understand why anyone would use Six Launcher though.

The game. (I'm guessing it is banned then)

Should 1 Hit Kill Sniper rifles be removed from DayZ.

Who would leave a tank just laying around during the beginning of the apocalypse? I'd say, with the amount of crashed helicopters, transport trucks, and humvees, and the lack of any just sitting in base, military forces in the area rushed an evacuation. It'd be nice to see some broken, abandoned, Strykers or something like that on the roadways though, just to push the point across even better. -
Check out /r/dayzbanditforce?

Is Telltale's The Walking Dead series banned in NZ and Aus? It features cannibalism pretty prominently.

1st person only, waypoints, what more?

Which is why it's so overpowered in PvP. Apparently some people can feel and see their own head bobbing in real life? Are you the reason this shit exists? -

ArmA is one of the few FPSes where you aren't a floating head! -

dsi24 replied to echosyp's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
True! So why do people whine and plead for their PvP exploit to stay? -
You won't make money on standalone or Arma3....

Hey hey, another person who doesn't understand Arma's target audience! -

These are all great ideas, ACE actually adds CS grenades and White Phosphorus grenades. -

Roll down the grass infront of you and position yourself on a hill, anyone expecting to lay down in foot high grass and see everything in front of them is just stupid. I enjoy how people try to make excuses for 3rd person but then say nameplates need to go, you don't want to see nametags through walls but you're ok with seeing an entire character through the wall? -

dsi24 replied to echosyp's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If you want to see someone behind you use free look, again, you're trying to use 3rd person to do something something else in the game already does. You just want to keep it so you can exploit it to make the game easier for you. That argument doesn't work when every server is connected. -
so wait wait even if they're shooting you they're innocent? what the fuck is wrong with you

50cals are used on soft targets in real life, and the reason they are in the game is because it is a simulator. (DayZ just adds zombies and even more simulation with food, water, and temperature) -

dsi24 replied to echosyp's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I don't understand if you want more prephrial view raise your FoV or double tap numpad -. Third person isn't needed at all. All it does is introduce the possibility of exploits, it is no different than nameplates. -
1st person only, waypoints, what more?
dsi24 replied to echosyp's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Third person allows for exploiting and needs to be removed, it was not intended for a PvP environment and every PvP ArmA server (and even most PvE groups) disable it themselves. A poor decision by BIS a few years ago is not an excuse to keep your exploits today. -
Bandit skins are a free-fire target regardless of how the skin was earned. Yet another reason why the system needs to be removed in the next update.

Arma 2's mechanics make dayz lame
dsi24 replied to Slobbergoat (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
1) Stealth 2) This is literally no different from "press 'E' to open door", instead of 'E' you press 'Middle mouse button' 3) So you couldn't control yourself and blame the game, got it. -
It's in 1.7.2.5 This just exposes more problems with the system, unless you're a stealth god you're always going to end up being a self-defense bandit.

Arma 2's mechanics make dayz lame
dsi24 replied to Slobbergoat (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
User errors here: 1) You got chased by zombies 2) You're slow at using the system (pro-tip: if the door opening icon appears you can just click middle mouse, no need to scroll) 3) You opened the door while standing on the hinged side I don't understand, do you walk through the door when you fling it towards your face in real life? -

dsi24 replied to zecele's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No, go out and get shot by a 50cal round to see the reason why. ACE mod does this, I don't know why ACE's infantry focused features aren't already in DayZ... -
Arma 2's mechanics make dayz lame
dsi24 replied to Slobbergoat (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The scroll-wheel interaction system is easily the best scaling and context dependent system I've ever used. Imagine if this game used BF3's terrible "press 1 button to pick up guns and complete mission objectives!" system, "here bro let me revive you... woops picked up your gun let me put it back down and try again... woops... woops..." The only clunky thing about arma2 is the movement, and that is fixed by mods and will be fixed in arma3.
