  3. He probably meant to kit himself out, typo'd or misclicked, and everyone on the server got it instead of just him.
  4. I suspect other devs were tweaking ArmA2's weapons to make them more accurate to real life and there was a knock-on effect on the way Rocket calculates 'blood' damage in DayZ. We'll find out soon enough...

    L85 AWS and G36c SD (Camo)

    Any G36c variant is hacked in, the L85 AWS got bugged and whiners spread a lot of disinformation about it being removed, it's back now.

    Has to be enabled by developer luckily. It's stupid to think you can swim with 30+ items and not lose anything, especially after sprinting for the last couple kilometers and not taking any sort of rest.

    It's for Wednesday's patch! I can't wait for the whining to blow over in a week as everyone realizes it isn't a big deal and vastly improves the immersion of the game.
  10. You realize the aim of a simulator is to simulate, right? Not to be a shining beacon of game design but to simulate X, maybe Y and Z if the devs are brave, to the fullest extent possible. ArmA does a fine job at simulating combat, especially advanced optics like FLIR or AWS. If you've been engaged by someone with one you can't just whine on the forums, real life, and thus simulators, don't work that way. If they nail you with their first shot sucks for you, if they miss, sucks for them, if you don't get behind cover, sucks for you. Sure they can't simulate everything, maybe in a couple of decades we'll be near that point, but it's about as close as it's going to be for now. Missing some things isn't an excuse to miss everything.

  12. People that don't play at night are afraid of it. Once you spend some time in it you become afraid of day.
  13. 1) Walk into a supermarket 2) Enjoy your invisibility People forget that ArmA is a milsim, there are pros and cons to everything, just like in real life. The AWS is rare, has a piss poor FoV, too much zoom to be useful at short-medium ranges, isn't very powerful, and is foiled by glass.

    civil discussion about PVP

    All the issues around DayZ's player interactions stem from the fact that there was ever something besides a survivor. The existence of 'others' who had free reign to kill, and were marked for death to survivors, started a death spiral of becoming a bandit in the process of protecting one's self, getting shot by survivors, and finally being fed up and shooting everyone on sight as there was nothing to lose anymore. Spawning with weapons, the inability to holster sidearms, and the weakness of zombies certainly didn't/don't help.

  17. Agreed, it'd be interesting to play around with overheating, making players stick to the shade during the mid-day sun if they want to run everywhere.
  18. Like Eve, there is no end-game, only a late-game, which anyone can reach at anytime regardless of experience or game time. (due to having connections with others in the late-game) The late-game in this is chaotic unless you're just sitting on your ass, and even then you can wake up to a pillaged camp with some vehicles missing and the rest blown up.

    Main inventory: Assault Rifle w/ 4 mags, Flares, Canteen, Food Item, Painkiller, Blood bag, Morphine Secondary inventory: G17 (for light) w/ 3 mags and 5 bandages Backpack (normally ALICE): 2 canteens (or cans of drink), 2 food items, Painkiller, Blood bag, Morphine, 3 spare primary mags, 1 spare G17 mag, Chemlights, rest is space for carrying loot Toolbelt: Anything I find, you can't run out of toolbelt space (yet)
  21. You want harsher consequences? FUCKING MAKE THEM. There are already anti-bandit groups, there's a subreddit where you can attempt to contract bandits to kill anyone, stop whining on the forums that the game isn't being played for you and do something about it.

[/quote'] Players are supposed to be able to shoot through walls. What the wall is made of and the calibre of the bullet determines if the bullet will pass through. You can shoot through metal pipes and bricks with some guns, just as in real life. I'm sorry. I didn't realize this was Call of Duty. What point are you trying to make here? Call of Duty is much more realistic than most shooters in the area of penetration (it has it at all vs not having it at all, even if it's terribly inaccurately modeled)
