Shooting players causes gear to break.

I had the same idea this morning so I am bumping this post since it didn't get any replies originally. I understand this would be extremely difficult or probably impossible to implement in the Arma 2 engine, but if it were possible it would change the entire way everyone handles their PVP. Just imagine having to take surgical shots so you would destroy that precious night vision the survivor could be wearing or has in his bag. If you actually shot somebody in the chest wearing a backpack, the pack is most likely going to be ruined and riddled with holes. It would encourage more robbery and sneaking than anything and less random engagements.

    Remove suppressed weapons

Your right, the spawn rate of the weapons themselves are low enough. But I still find STANAG SD ammunition about just as often as I find regular STANAG, so that tells you there is a big problem with the ammunition rates.

    Remove suppressed weapons

My character has been alive for nearly 30 days now, about 23 or so of those days has been with a suppressed M4 CCO. I have had MANY close calls but with help from friends I've stayed safe and been able to PVP, scavenge, find vehicles, and still manage to avoid death. The fact that you have a suppressed weapon makes it much easier to survive just because you have the advantage of never being heard while clearing an area. I basically owe the fact that I have survived to the gun, so I do agree that the way they spawn right now is unrealistic. I don't think suppressed weapons should be removed, but the spawn rates on the weapons and SD ammunition needs to be nerf'd down A LOT. Also a round life cycle on the suppressors themselves could be useful, just like in MGS 3.
  4. In light of all the server errors that have caused a huge amount of players to be spawned back at the coast (especially for those that were spawned with all of their gear deleted), are the devs considering doing a rollback? A lot of players died before they even got a chance to figure out what was going on. Fortunately, I was warned before hand and logged in at the right time to move north but I can't say the same for hundreds of other players that had their characters ruined because of it. Or is it really that unreasonable? Most people I have asked are praying that there will be some sort of restoration or correction for the spawn errors.
