This time last year, The Asylum was one of the most popular DayZ servers in the world. We've brought it back a day ago on improved hardware (even though it was great already before). If you're looking for a fresh start, now is the time to join as it's only been up a day. It's a 90 player server (may change) and you'll experience the least amount of lag you've ever had in DayZ. That might sound boastful but try it and you'll see what I mean. It's a vanilla DayZ private hive with the added bonus of base/home construction! Nearly every building or object can be crafted. Filter for "The Asylum" and you'll find it.

www.DayZAsylum.com The Asylum is the world's most unique DayZ server, running on incredibly powerful hardware so that lag is always minimal. Custom Anti-Hack Solution The Asylum has a custom-built anti-cheating system which will ban the majority of hackers, making it the most legitimate and clean DayZ experience you can find. Modified Spawners *NEW* We always hated how everyone in DayZ has the best weapons known to mankind in an apocalyptic scenario. We've modified the spawners so that the best of weapons are far more rare. Low grade (enfields, CZ) and mid grade (AKs, etc) are the norm. While all guns except the AS50 (replaced with the G36) are available, some have become quite rare. In addition all ammo has reduced spawns, making your ammo more valuable. Gameplay Enhancements We'll often do minor things to make your game more enjoyable. As an example, you can fuel up your vehicles at gas stations without using jerry cans, or upright ATVs when they flip over. Statistics! Our website, listed above, stores the statistics of every player who comes on the server for both their current life as well as their entire playing history. What's more, is we have working leaderboards showing those with highest humanity, survival time, player kills and more. Database Reverts If we are struck by a hacker, we have the ability to revert the entire server only a few minutes so that nobody loses their equipment after being teleported, etc. We can even do this on an individual level if the hacker attacked only a few people. Custom Bug Fixes Our own team of programmers makes server code changes on a regular basis, correcting many bugs plaguing normal DayZ servers. Bugs such as tents saving, tents duping, vehicles repairing and coming back and even the bag loss on skin change are fixed on The Asylum. Construction DayZ has endgame! Players are able to build structures, utilities and more in the world. Some things you can expect include: buildings, furniture and decorations, flags, structures (ie: vehicle camo netting, etc), utilities (ie: wells, fuel tanks, etc) and more! Certain things, depending on size and usefulness, will require different materials. You will have to collect all of these materials before the item can be constructed. Is there any way to mute side chat on a per-person basis? I can get the standard radio spawning in DayZ no problem, but I'm wondering if there's some way to limit side/global chat based on that.

We actually had a train going up and down the coast on The Asylum server. It needed more work though, but we might be bringing it back. -
GOOD survival server

Check out The Asylum (www.dayzasylum.com). It's in the US but on a very powerful backbone and server. Pings should be good from almost everywhere. We have a very custom system; night time is enabled (although big cities have house lights on so they're a bit brighter), high end military loot has greatly reduced spawn so most fights happen with AKs and such, ammo is rarer, and other cool stuff like the ability to refuel at gas stations. We focus on realism and survival. It's harder to get going than other servers, but that makes it more rewarding when you do. -

Check out The Asylum. It's one of the most unique servers there is, and it just reset yesterday so everyone's starting over again. -
The community has voted, and the Asylum has started fresh again. We've reduced high-end weapon spawning, as well as ammo spawns, to make the absolute best guns much more rare while low and mid-grade weapons are still as common. Because of this, a wipe was in order to make sure that the world wasn't overly saturated with hundreds of the best weapons around, as it is in all other servers. Now is the best time to get into The Asylum, so give it a shot. Everyone's just starting out again and there are broken, newly spawned, vehicles littered around the map.

We've made some more additions to The Asylum. Now, military grade gun spawns are far more rare. Low to mid range weapons are the norm, and ammo is also reduced. Finally not everyone is running around with the best of weapons. :) -
The Asylum (www.dayzasylum.com) has a sort of reduced-size debug monitor. It shows blood and humanity.

Video showing how to construct buildings on Asylum

This video shows you how the building construction works, and also how to set alerts on the buildings. A few buildings, mainly towers, allow alerts which will send you an email the instant someone comes within a certain radius (radius depends on the building). This means you can set up bases and actually protect them better. It's done to bridge the gap between a game where you can only be online for short times vs reality where you could be present and available at all times. The alerts don't tell you which building they're near (if you have more than one) or how many people are there, though. -
We have a custom program made for the private hive server The Asylum (www.dayzasylum.com) which finds and bans 100% of hackers that visit the server. I'm considering releasing it to the public but it has one flaw: I'm unsure how I can perform a kick to an active player so that we can get them off immediately. Is there any kind of RCON protocol, or any other way anyone with technical knowledge might know of for booting someone from a 3rd party application?

I haven't used HA for months (see my previous posts in this thread to know why.. what a nightmare) yet I was billed a few weeks ago for a service that doesn't even exist. I asked HA about it and they never responded.. I waited a week and now I'm in dispute with them via PayPal. Ugh, what a pain in the a**. Worst company I've ever dealt with, and I mean that seriously. -

This server, called Hunger Games (filter for Asylum) resets every day at midnight EST. You also only have one chance at survival. If you die, you're done until the next reset. At each reset, we log the "winner" of the hunger games. This winner is determined by number of player kills (and zombie kills if there's a tie for first). The winner must also still be alive! A history of all winners is available on our website. If you do well and survive, whether you win or not, you can gain "sponsorships" and the next day you play you can start with some helpful items. You can find the website at www.dayzasylum.com; if you've died in the games, drop by our other server, US #01. Our other server is standard DayZ with the added system of building construction! Yes, that's sort of the point. There's something fun about not going in every time with every gun under the sun though, and having to scavenge to survive before someone finds you. The building system is on our other server, The Asylum. Basically you fill up a tent with certain resources and then you can convert that tent into a structure based on what's inside it. More details are on our website. -

Performance issues? Did you mean to say performance enhancements? Keep in mind that not only does the server reset once a day, but players only have one life. This means a life is more valuable and the server won't get cluttered with a dozen bodies from a single player. Thus, it could run for days before getting noticably slowed. We have the stats online now at www.dayzasylum.com with a LOT more cool statistics to come. -

No plans to open one in Europe, sorry! The system we run the Asylum servers on are quite expensive. Coming soon: Asylum Hunger Games! A whole new way to play DayZ. :) -

You don't need to log into the website at all, just log into the game server. Our server then notifies the website of which characters have been played by your IP last, and when you visit the website you'll be logged in as that character. Secure and easy.. no logins required. We've gotten around the issue, and it works great. Players don't need to download anything to play on our server. We even have a robust anti-cheat system that runs completely serverside.
