The Asylum - BUILDING CONSTRUCTION, REDUCED MIL SPAWNS, CUSTOM ANTIHACK AND MORE!
paratus replied to paratus's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Players on The Asylum can now build structures in the world. This includes everything from buildings and fortifications to furniture and even utility items such as wells. For more information check out www.dayzasylum.com and click the link to see a list of possible structures and their requirements. We've just opened this up so the list is a bit limited but we'll be adding hundreds more. -

If you're serious, you must not know much about the legal system. They'd be spending a lot of money for nothing if they wanted to sue me. And why? I'm helping them retain customers for their retail release. -
Fire up your Six Launcher and join the server "ArmA2 PvP - The Asylum". Hosted by the same people who run one of the most popular private hive DayZ servers, www.dayzasylum.com. This server is unlike anything you've played before. Imagine a mix of BF3, CoD and DayZ. It requires NO downloads, just the base ArmA2 OA which you already have installed for DayZ. Either join via Six Launcher or the in-game browser. If you join by in-game browser, make sure your shortcut to start the game does NOT enable DayZ. Six will do this for you though. Server Addy: dayzasylum.com Server Port: 2332 100 player PvP craziness!

The building system isn't in just yet, but it's just about ready and will be only a day or two now. We've already done tests internally and it's working well. :) -

The Asylum also now has detailed character statistics. Look up anyone who has played on the server for their personal stats, or view the front page for many top-10 leaderboards. -

Sounds like you tried playing on the Asylum. For that you need to sign up at www.dayzforum.com, not here. -
A current solution to ghosting, hopping and more
paratus posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
For a while I've been posting on here about the issue of ghosting (that is disconnecting, moving to a location on another server, and going back to the secured one), hopping servers for gear, alt-f4 disconnects and more. The majority of viewers all agreed that we need to have official private hive servers. I wanted to make everyone aware of the server The Asylum, if you haven't heard of it yet. It's exactly, in every way, identical to every other DayZ server only it's private hive. That means your character is only on that server, but it's a dedicated and permanent server. The server's only a couple of days old so it's perfect for a fresh start without everyone having duped gear, etc. Check out the site at www.dayzasylum.com and drop by. Hopefully some of you will learn there is a way to get around those gamebreaking issues. There other plenty of private hive servers around but this one is new and fresh, extremely fast (fastest you'll have ever played on I'm sure), permanent and identical to hived servers in every way. -

Hackers are overrunning DayZ and we need your opinion on what you're willing to do to solve the issue: http://www.dayzforum.com/index.php?threads/solution-to-hacking.15/ The more people we can get to vote on this poll the better! -

No EU server yet but maybe they'll have one in the future, not sure. I believe the current one is in Dallas. You can search characters on their sites for stats now, ie: http://www.dayzasylum.com/character.php?c=11159814 Bunch of leaderboards tomorrow, too. -

Has there been any word when the tent/vehicle dupe will be fixed? It's been around for weeks now, is just about game-breaking and affects both private and hive servers. -

The server has a new backup system in place so that if a hacker hits and affects a lot of people, the majority of times it can roll back only a few minutes so that nobody loses much. PS: Last night, with 70 people on, it was faster than most severs with 10 people. Fun times. :) -

All servers get hit with hackers.. they're all as vulnerable as the next until BE gets a considerable update. At least they get permanent bans on the Asylum as it almost always has a moderator connected. Can't say the same for the other servers. -

I've never wanted all servers to have private hives, but it should always be an option for those who want a secure and pure experience. It's a lot different playing without the issues the hive has caused. It might not be for some, but it is great for many. -

Look up the posts by me and others that had polls, with over 50% in agreement. That's the majority. -

I don't own it but I do play there. I love the game but until this issue is addressed by rocket, and no longer ignored, it's the only decent way to play. -
I'm sure this has been suggested in the past, but I did not see this in the list so I want to hear the community's opinion and make sure we're heard. One of the largest issues I've seen with the game right now is server hopping. Whether people do it to avoid being killed when under fire, to relog in high loot areas until they find what they're looking for or to break into fortified areas without trouble, one solution could fix it all. The concept is to save your characters to a specific server. When you change servers, you'll be starting fresh (unless you played there before). This has many benefits: Server hopping becomes pointless and will almost cease right away. Each server will develop community. If you've been lucky enough to play regularly on a server with established players and teams already, you'll know this makes the game infinitely more fun. With characters still saved on the "hive", from a database management and performance issue it actually becomes easier to handle a large load. Yes, character data storage will be larger due to multiple characters per account, but at the same time it'd be extremely easy to cluster the servers. (Ie: cluster data by server number) which could actually improve server performance with nearly no work. Best of all it'd be incredibly easy to develop! Attaching another single piece of data (server ID) to characters would be almost no work at all. Opinions? NOTE: This could be made as a server option so some servers could opt-in to function this way while the default majority would remain as it is. That gives players who crave security over ease of access the option.

40% OFF SALE | Premium DayZ Server Hosting | Host Altitude (Ltd)
paratus replied to jonnerz's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Anyone can say customer service is their top priority. Any company in the world can and most do. This does NOT mean that your customer service is even remotely decent; HA customer service is, by far, the worst I've ever experienced from any company I've dealt with in my 30 years. I was more than patient this whole time, but I'm going to be getting a refund and cancelling the service. I plan on paying nearly double the amount with another company. The funny thing is, I requested a refund in a support ticket and we all know the likelihoods of that even being read or addressed (the ticket originally started 4 days ago without a reply still). I requested the refund yesterday but they're unaware, it seems, as I've no reply and my server is still running (but not working of course). It's sad to see that I'm almost certainly going to have to handle this at the bank level. -
I have a managed server from Host Altitude. They don't respond to support tickets (been days) so I figured I'd ask here. Ever since I had my server go online, when someone connects, it waits a long time on loading and eventually shows an error message saying that the server software is out of date and to contact the DayZ staff. Any ideas on the cause and how it can be fixed? Does it need to be whitelisted, even though I have an instance id?

I've requested that my service also be cancelled (going into day 4 soon without the server even going online ONCE) if I don't at least hear an update before midnight EST. The crazy thing is we're mostly all requesting a written update, which isn't asking a lot. -

I'm still waiting for my server. Day 3 and counting, with nobody replying to my tickets at all. -
That was kind of hard to understand, but did you even read the thread? I'M SUGGESTING THIS IS AN OPTION FOR SOME SERVERS TO USE, not all servers would go this route and you don't have to play on them if you don't want to. That said, we need the OPTION to play on official Sanctuary servers. The fact that several DayZ mods exist like this show there's demand. If you haven't run into the issue of ghosting and hopping yet, you will eventually find it can be completely game-breaking. You say to let him work on "actual problems" yet in my opinion, server hopping and ghosting is one of the largest problems the game currently faces (duping and hacks aside).
