I just wanted to bring to everyone's attention that battleye just freaked out globally across servers and began kicking all users for corrupted memory (our server included). I've shut down the server for the moment to give it a restart to fix the issue and am talking to other admins. EDIT: Battleye Has been manually updated.

When it comes to placing tents, that's dealt within the dayz code. Reappearing tents has been a known issue (I've seen and also heard reports of destroyed and packed tents coming back after restarts). The reason why you can't pack up these tents is that you guys don't "own" them. This is intended as far as I know. Now with the issue of your two missing blood bags, it's possible it was never written to the hive. There have been some weird quirks with 1.7.2 and the contingency hive not writing all the time. This should be resolved in the coming update. Unfortunately these bugs are out of my hands. The only option I have is to roll back to 1.7.1.5, but with the update coming soon (one would hope) it'd be inconvenient to force users back to using an older version only to have them update it again. :(

Lots of servers out there, some don't reboot or get managed well, it's a fact of life. I recommend searching these forums for active server threads and reading people's reviews. :cool:

Nothing is saved locally on the server, can't you just get your new IP whitelisted and use the same instance ID? I'm not sure how you're currently hosted now but in theory you could perform a switch without losing anything. I would look into support with your current provider to see if it's possible to take the instance ID with you (that is if you are using a managed host). EDIT: That way you can also keep your current name of US 449.

Best bet is to check after the next reboot and see if they come back on load. If they don't, it's possible that they fell into the abyss. EDIT: And thank you for the kind words. :cool:

There have been some reported issues with 1.7.2 and the hive. A lot of these things are expected to be resolved with the upcoming hotfix. Tent locations, etc. are stored on the master database. Now that being said, tents can disappear after awhile if they are not used, that is intended.

Sounds like a weird bug with 1.7.2 and the hive. I'll look at the server .rpt and pass this onto Ander, but I know he was mentioning that 1.7.2.1 (or 1.7.2.2) will fix a lot of the hive related quirks. Thank you for the report Valicious. I hope your stay on the server has been enjoyable otherwise. :)

Sloppzz. The only time you may lock a server is when they are too many people in the lobby waiting to process using BEC. Servers cannot be locked just for friends, it is against DayZ hosting policy and your server can possibly be revoked.

As far as I know Rymdkejsaren, PV is always on. I don't see a value flag for it in the difficulty settings. In regards to armor, Bohemia Interactive put this in as a comment: // Gives you improved body armor, tank armor etc I assume this translates into be able to take slightly more punishment bullet wise. The exact difference I've never personally calculated.

This is probably better suited for the main discussion categories. Anywho, unless the server is running on super easy mode, you cannot find yourself. It's all about using good ole' fashion map and compass navigation. Look for landmarks, get your bearings and find that spot on the map. Until you're lucky enough to find a GPS of course. ;)

Look. I'm responding to your suggestions to help you (and others who may see this thread). Just trust me in saying that the server channel is where you need to be for this information. Patches are tested, but some bugs don't always appear until you get them into the wild. However, we are kept in the loop during the process. I don't know who to refer you to for the channel information directly, but I will post this thread in the channel so somebody who's responsible for handing out that information can pass it onto you.

As an admin, be in the IRC channel. Things are well announced there for server hosts.

The old thread for requesting access died in the database revert of the forums, otherwise I'd suggest to necro it. I don't know who handles the masking anymore. Your best bet is to rename the OP to something like "Requesting Server Hosts Forum Access." I don't know how far you'll get though. They usually view IRC as the "official" support channel of communication for admins as far as I see.

A server hosters section already exists. You need to be invited into it (or request to be invited). However, because of the responsiveness of IRC, most admins hang out in there and don't use the forums. Trust me, I've talked about restructuring the server forums last month, but I don't think it's high on their to-do list at the moment. They are probably focusing on other solutions.

Server is currently unreachable due to hive database maintenance. It should return soon (we'll do a reboot to make sure everything syncs). It hasn't crashed or anything, this is a global deal. EDIT: Server is coming back up. Ander said things are completed for now.

I'd report it as a bug, I heard another case of a gillie suit and a L85 disappearing on another player. My camo and akm are intact. I don't think it has anything to do with when you connected. I'm sorry about your loss. You could try getting items restored, but I can't guarantee it will happen. Nothing is stored locally item wise, it's all in the hive.

Are you sure you lost it? Were other items there? It may have not loaded from the hive. The update shouldn't have wiped anything, unless something was changed on the master db. if it's still missing, it may need to be reported as a bug.

baijiaqing, If the server is crashing there's something else going on. I know a bunch of admins who's servers are running just fine without crashes (ours included). Mattolio I also know a fair amount who notify when restarting (also ours included as well). So before you start accusing sever admins as a whole Mattolio, I suggest you get the facts. Perhaps your post would be more constructive if you provided the server you were on so the admin could fix it. Or the community can get in touch with the right person for you.
