thanks for the replies - I thought it was a hacker. I am lucky he was just messing with us, I hope Rocket is able to lock down the code and hacks soon (dup hack is still in there - atleast the one where you save items in a tent/vehicle, take the gear out, then restart the server - so the clans with their own servers end up with as much gear as they want, to then raid other servers).

Been playing DayZ for a week+, and had a very weird occurance last night. It was daylight and my brother and I were by some trees outside a small town. we just killed about 6 zombies.. I used my silencer pistol and my bro used his hatchet, so we were not making any noise and we were being very stealthy.. and all of a sudden I hear music for a second (loud 70s rock?) right by the trees beside us. My bro said there was a guy there, and I look over to see a guy wearing tan/desert? colored camos/fatigues and had a red beret on his head, and he was holding an Axe. (he looked kind of like this picture - https://dev-heaven.n...eret_badge2.jpg) I have seen Zeds looking kinda like this- but never with a weapon, so my first thought was to clear out and reasses. (during my link/syync issues, there was just a zed stuck in that tree, it seemed, so I was not sure what was going on). I told my Bro to retreat, and took off. I admit I panicked a bit and got stuck in zoom a sec when switching weapons, making my mad run into the forest a little crazy, and when I pulled back to regular vision and turned around, there he was- coming right after me, Axe in hand! And there was a a second of rock music again. I backed up an open fire - unloading a whole clip of my machine gun into his midsection (and saw a lot of blood hits), but he did not fall.. so when the clip emptied I stopped back walking and instead charged right through/past him with the hopes that it would offset his timing and he wouldnt swing his ax right. I got past him, ducked around a wall of some trees before he could turn, and disconnected. (I would not disconnect in a fair fight, but I strongly believe he was hacking hard). what do you guys think? I have never seen that model on a player before. I thought it was a player with admin/god /hack powers that was messing with us.. who comes up to someone and plays music in the direct channel? It could be that i did kill him, and my link/sync issues just delayed his death annimation.. but he looked very alive as I charged him (after filling him with bullets). But what really threw me was the different look - a player with a baret? But if not that, then it was a zed with an axe? sure made an interesting encounter!
