Would you kill the unarmed?
junglist (DayZ) replied to Ashnik's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In all honesty it depends on the situation, and how I feel. Most of the time I would not, but I have before. For instance last time I killed an unarmed noob I saw him running east from Kamenka (I had just left debug world and respawned), and I had just picked up a MK Mod 0. I had not shot it against a player yet. I see the guy running, and say to myself I will let him go. Then I notice his name plate "Baller Status". I felt compelled. Gun worked great though. Since that time I have tried to stay away from servers with name plates on so I do not repeat that again. LOL :) -
Why I dislike this forum...

This issue is not limited to the Dayz community. This is common place on the web. My apologies if this was already pointed out, as I did not read the complete thread. -
OMG IF YOU DON'T HAVE FUN IN THIS GAME THE SAME WAY I HAVE FUN IN THIS GAME YOU ARE A FAG. *Please note the above is sarcasm

It is so easy to recognize satire/sarcasm in a text based medium..... -
B.I. doesn't give a shit about you...

LOL someone needs a hug. You said it yourself. 30 bucks is chump change. You don't have to play this. Obviously you get off spouting shit on the forums. It reminds me of a small child running round screaming "look at me guys, look at me guys" until they trip and fall on their face. -
Towns up North (except for Staruy) are totally useless & empty of activity
junglist (DayZ) replied to oleg86@msn.com's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I love these posts. The beauty of this game is people can play the game however they want to. They can spawn in Electro gear up and start hunting players right off the bat if they choose to. They can gear up run north, and survive in the wilderness if they choose too. I can go on and on about possible paths a player can choose to take in this game. I believe that is what Rocket's vision of this game is. It is all subject to opinion, and telling people they are WRONG or RIGHT is only your opinion on how you THINK the game should be played. My suggestion is take a look at DayzDB and look at the percentage of what can spawn in those areas, and then make the call if they are useless or not. Either way opinions are like assholes everyone has one and they smell bad most of the time. Happy Hunting/Surviving! -

My Dayz Helicopter Experience 7/25/2012
junglist (DayZ) posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Hello Dayz peeps, I am relatively new to the game. I don't really follow patch notes very closely, and am just starting to post on the Forums. Last night I was on a US server (unsure of the number I will follow up when I get home) and my brother and I had finally regrouped north of the NW Airfield. We are having fun with the inventory, and trading weapons when I hear the sound of a chopper in our immediate area. We immediatley take cover because we are unsure of what to expect. My bro mentions that choppers are not currently in this patch, and most likely there is some hacking going on(i am not sure on this). My brother says he can see the gunner and the pilot clearly with his DMR and asks me if I think he should risk making the noise to shoot it down. Hell YES! i say. I cover him from up the hill keeping my eyes south because I figure if anyone hears the action they will come from the air field (error in judgement on my part). My brother begins engaging the gunner, and the chopper returns fire but they cannot get a read on us I assume because they never hit us. After going through two magazines the gunner is dead, and either my brother killed the pilot or he freaked out and crashed the chopper in the open field. Needless to say it was an intense battle, and hax or not it was incredibally fun to see a chopper go down to a sniper. Shortly after we get attacked from the north by multiple grenades, and both perish because I covered the wrong direction (and we did not just move out of the area right after the chopper crashed). I just wanted to tell the story to the community and see what everyone thinks. *Note - I am immune to trolls :) Happy surviving all -
No Respawn button now? /sigh
junglist (DayZ) replied to A Bush killed me's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I had no problem with the proposed change before I was aware that it could also help with server performance! Typically when I play with my friends half of the fun is trying to find each other (and not shoot each other). I think this change is more aligned with "the spirit of the game". -
Why do you people do these things?
junglist (DayZ) replied to Inception.'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Why do people play video games? Well I cannot answer for everyone, but I play them for fun. So i can only assume they shot you for fun. -
First Post on these forums after weeks of reading. I am impressed with how often the dayz team keeps the community in the loop. You guys are incredibally patient. Most people have no idea what it takes to not only develop a new project, but implement it as well. I think people also forget what alpha means. Either way my compliments to the chef/s! Looking forward to testing it out. Err I mean playing. :P
