Forgot to add, After a server restart it was night time,we came across a motor bike south of Nobby with no petrol. Searched a nearby barn and got a jerry can. Heading back to the bike a player appears right in front of me I panic and empty an AK mag into him......Nothing!!! He shoots me in the legs so I fall to the ground, I tell my mate to leg it as he is a hacker and your not going to be able to kill him. The hacker then bandages me up, grabs me and teleports me to the Islam very very very south of the map. Gives me morphine, blood transfusion and teleports away again. Knowing my fate I decide to give the 10k swim ago, eat, drink, heat pack myself and enter the water Mean while my mate has filled up the bike and is riding off with the hacker appearing taking shots at him so my mate logs off. The hacker then appears back on the island behind me so instead of giving him the satisfaction of watching me swim then shoot me I log off. Luckily when I log back on on a different server i was back on the coast, minus everything in my main inventory but I had all my weapons, equipment and back pack. I then called it a night!!!!!

I got the sidewinder x4 keyboard and do not regret it one bit. I was looking at razor etc but the reviews were not great. I guess when you pay that much ppl expect more. The sidewinder x4 does everything you need it to do and more, keys feel responsive and the backlighting is effective and has anti ghosting. I recommend it

I play with one other person and we always use Skype. Normally when We come across a confrontation one of us seems to die and the other lives. One then guards the dead body till the new spawn arrives to collect his gear. So having a 2nd player does seem to help.

Next time you are left alone in a jeep like that and the kidnappers are preoccupied, scroll the mouse wheel and select "move to drivers seat" then try and burn the hell out of there!!! Sounds like an epic story, dayz does have steep learning curve!!!

Hi guys, I came across and picked up a bear trap the other day. I've never found one before and unfortunately died before being able to use it. Has anyone succefully used one before? I.e killed someone with it (if it does indeed kill) or Injure someone. I was thinking its good for Confined spaces like the firestation tower etc. Be good to hear if anyone has used it to its full potential and how regularly available they are.

Hey guys, Just seen there's a new update, unfortunatley I wont be able to get online to play for a few days. I have read rockets post and was hoping you can tell me what's changed regarding combat? Also rocket mentioned dogs? Are they in this update? Has much else important changed in this update Can't wait to get back online but I have to go to work :-(. Bloody job!!!!!!!!!

Just whilst in combat? How does the system know when you are in combat? Can u still log out if you are fighting zombies? Is it just pvp alt f4ing it stops you from doing

Cruel fraggie, very cruel but I like it!!! Can u get into a car with a broken leg? I've got a car hidden in the woods and the suggestion early about placing one in front of the car door is a good one. Not much point though if you can still drive off.

I was in Stary Sober at the top of the red barn like building over looking my friend looting the tents when I noticed a bandit enter below me, i instantly open fire as he has a bandit skin. As i watch him panic and run around I then ask if he is friendly which he responds "yes" and that I've hit him and he needs medical attention. I call my friend over from the tents and ask him to give this bandit a blood transfusion whilst I'm overlooking. The bandit thanks us and leaves heading north into the trees. Was I wrong in opening fire first and asking questions later? This ended relatively well for everyone but could of ended far worse. I have very little trust for anyone in a bandit skin, he could of been hunting me and I just got lucky spotting him. If it was a survivor I saw coming in I would of asked questions first, it was only because he was in a bandit skin How would you of handled it? Should I of just blown him away or not opened fire at all? That's what I love about this game, so many different scenarios to deal with!

How many people are logging into this server now to kill this guy and his team?

How do u log onto the different maps? Do u have to download a separate mod? I've only ever seen the option for chernerus. I use play with six as my dayz launcher Thanks

Hey guys, I've been playing dayz now for a cpl of months. I've gone from scatty noob to semi experienced survivor. I have a friend which I team up with regularly, when we first started playing we used to get so frustrated with player killers, especially as new spawns. But now I understand why there are many player killers out there and shoot on sight mentality. We both are geared up to our eye balls, have a cpl of vehicles and have just been spending our dayz surviving. As we are so tooled up we suffer from extreme paranoia, seeing another player within close proximity makes us do what we hated ppl do to us and that's shoot on sight!!! We do not go out our way to hunt players down (except when we see snipers picking ppl off in towns) but if we incounter a player in the same room or building we end up shooting without warning to protect what we have. It's taken us dayz to find the gear we have and we can't risk hoping the other player is not going to shoot at us. I love this game for the way it makes you think and react to scenarios differently depending on your circumstance. Has anyone else found as you Collect better gear the more protective you become or are my friend and I turning to the dark side?

We used to be very friendly players, helped a lot of ppl but when doing that we came across a lot of ppl who would just shoot to kill. They were probably just protecting there gear, now we are geared up we are acting just as bad. Gear is like gold! You don't wana lose it!!

Hey guys, I currently have and play dayz (no very well mind) but a friend wants in on the action. I am pretty new to Pc Gaming and he wants some advice on a budget gfx card. He was looking at getting a 2mb radeon HD 6950 but it has been discontinued. The next one up is the 6970but this is £200 my friends butget is around £150 but we cannot find a 2mb gfx card for the budget. Is it worth buying a 1mb then adding another 1mb at a later date? any advice would be grateful

Hey Guys, Ive been playing this for a week now and have yet to have anyone use or respond to any of my direct chat messages. Also I have not heard anyone on a mic. I select direct chat from the list (not group or vehicle) and type away to players I have seen........Normally i am frantically typing friendly while they are lining up a perfect headshot!!!! I was looting a city (can't remember which one ATM), I was lying down in the shop winchester out and watched another player come charging in followed by a horde of zombies, i took out about 10 of the rotting walking corpses for this guy and typed in direct chat that im here to help etc. What thanks do i get? a shotgun in the back!!!! another occasion I was in the firestation in elecktro, I was up the tower watching a player evade many zombies, He came running towards the firestation, I typed "friendly in fire station ready to help". He ran in, i go downstairs, he runs past me and I kill all of the oncoming zombies. Guess how I was thanked? thats right a hatchet to the face!!! their are many similar stories all ending the same depressing way!!!! I have 3000 humanity at the moment, I have only come across one person in about 20 who was willing to give "humanity" a chance and that was great fun. I am really trying hard not to turn into a murderer who shoots at other players without warning but I think I slowly being drawn to the dark side. I use direct chat as im yet to buy a headset. But I still do not hear anyone else with a mic. Is direct chat used alot or am I the only one stupid enough to be typing when instead I should be looking at murdering everyone??

I use "play with six" to launch my games, this automaticly downloads updates etc for the game. I am yet to have a problem logging into a game.

Got my new Pc a couple of days ago along with a copy of Arma 2 Annerversay edition. Like most people I have been watching all the you tube videos and followng the forums on here till my Pc arrived. I booted up Dayz for the 1st time last night and I have to say the you tube videos make the game look at lot easier than it is. My 1st go I died within 30 seconds, aggroed a Zombie and ran up ladder and fell off once i got to the top. Good start :) My 2nd go I lasted about 30mins, tried to enter a few barns but kept on aggroing zombies and ended up at a city where i found my first weapon, the hatchet. Which by the way is pretty awesome against zombies.......after running and panicing around the city I began to master (i use master very loosely) the art of breaking the zombies line of sight to get away from them. Even though I was able to evade most the zombies I could not find any food anywhere so eventually passed out and got eaten!!!! My 3rd and final go started me near Elecktro (i think) where after some evasion and 20mins of searching has found me 2 x cans of food and 2 x cans of soda. I have never been so excited about soda and beans before in my life but I was over the moon when I got these. This means I can continue further without the worry of starving.As it was getting late I logged out and cannot wait to get home to continue my journey. This game is very hard and I love it. I love not starting with a weapon, I love having to scout out an area before moving forward, taking things slow and then have a mad panic when things dont go to plan (which for me seems all the time). This game seems to give you a sense of achievement no other can. I'm yet to come across another player, when I do will I be a friend or a foe? who knows as Im not sure my self yet, I guess it depends on my gear and the actions of the other person but I cannot wait to find out. Keep up the good work

I downloaded "play with Six" downloads easy enough and finding a server was a breeze. Downloaded and played for the 1st time last night and Im New to Pc gaming (only got my Pc 2 days ago) See if that works for you.
