It was always a first person shooter. You just chose to ignore it. If you don't want open world ffa PvP then this game is not for you. Do not expect it to change into a PvE-oriented game, much less a PvE-dominated game.

It is entertaining. You don't need a logical reason to kill a defenseless player, you just need to enjoy it. This is, after all, a game that is played for entertainment purposes. -

You can put it on just about any key, button, or group of keys. It should be something that you won't do accidentally but can still do quite quickly. -

You could setup autohotkey to call winclose to shut arma 2 oa down on the press of a key. That closes the game with a click of the back button on your mouse. Hit that quick enough and it'll save you from anybody who is teleporting you and THEN killing you in some way. If they just finger of death you from the other side of the map you don't have time to do anything. Of course this is only to save yourself from a cheater, not to cheat death itself. :) -

Not getting shot is pretty easy. There is a technique you need to learn, though, it is called stealth. Instead of running around trying to talk to people who don't want to talk to you, who only want to kill you, stay in the tree line, stay behind hard cover, only move when the coast is clear. It is hardcore PvP survival, not 3D facebook. -

They're very easy to find in civilian buildings. Apartment building triplex, office building, and train station are all great places to snag ghillie/camo. -
Headshots are a 1 bullet kill, any weapon. If for some reason you haven't been taking advantage of it now is a good time to start. M9 SD ammo is quite common on soldier zombies, BTW.

If you can't get a headshot on a zombie you haven't aggro'd yet---which is one of the reasons you're using silenced weapons in the first place---you might want to try harder. Right now ammo isn't a problem because of various bugs and exploits but if it ever gets as scarce as it is intended the people who can get headshots will always have ammo while people who can't will probably be running around with hatchets. -

I wouldn't assume that everybody who favors ghillie, m4 sd, and m9 sd are hackers. :P Optimal gear is optimal gear, regardless of the method you use to obtain it. ---I'm not saying this is the best loadout but it certainly is a good one---. Even seeing an AS50 thermal doesn't guarantee hacker since somebody else could have spawned it in. -
I wonder how dumb a person has to be to believe it impossible for BE to come up with a false positive. I wonder how dumb a person has to be to believe it impossible for a GUID to be mimicked. We already know how fallible BE is, you'd have to be pretty dumb to believe it could only be fallible in one direction. Be happy they appear to be trying to step up their game, don't automatically assume that everybody accused is guilty.

Of course it will. The freedom the "pile-of-scripts" model gives the engine allows any number of wonderful things. You think they're going to throw all of that out the window just to put a dent in the cheaters? Not likely. Don't expect it to be significantly harder to hack. Do hope whatever they use for anticheat is generations better than what they currently have. -
Good news, at the rate battleye is handing out global bans to legitimate players there won't be anybody left but hackers. Problem Solved.

You don't get hacked for picking up and using items spawned in by hackers. HOW MANY TIMES DOES IT HAVE TO BE SAID?

Loot spawns have a chance of spawning no loot. Additionally, if you login too close it will remove all loot from a building---this appears to be a server option, though, so it doesn't happen on every server.

This isn't an argument for why a respawn button is needed, it is an argument for why effective anticheat is needed. Furthermore you don't know how much removing the respawn button helped unless you have load and performance stats for the Hive from before and after the change. If you have them, show them. ;)

Very rare spawn, I've been playing for weeks, hit hospitals any number of times, never seen antibiotics. The two times I've gotten them I took them from other players. What I would do is tent my gear somewhere and then suicide and run back to it.

I think it is a great idea, a better fit for the DayZ "experience". There are some situations though where lack of respawn is causing some grief, be nice if those were addressed. -

No, lol. Collision detection is horrible in arma2/RV3. Maybe it isn't in RV4 and they can consider this for the standalone. -

No good reason to let an unarmed player get that close to you. Generally tell them to run in direct chat, if they don't they die.
