    A headshot is a 1-hit on a player. If you're trying to hit a running player and can't perhaps you should rethink which targets are viable and which aren't. Even when I have a very accurate sniper rifle I tend to wait till the target stops moving.
  2. It will always be a death match, regardless of how hard the zombies are. There are already roaming gank groups, all you'll do is make it harder on the people who aren't grouped up yet. Those people will group with friends they made outside the game, for the most part, so you won't be doing anything to reduce death match or reduce shoot on sight. Your best case scenario for harder PvE just makes the game lean more towards Team Death match instead of Death match---which is where it already is for smart/experienced players. It isn't the boring PvE zombie fighting that is making this mod popular, it is the open world PvP. Expect that side of the game to get more attention, not less, if they intend to grow the mod. After all, there are plenty of boring PvE zombie games already for people to play, the market isn't just filled, it is saturated. You need to realize that now and get over it or move on.

    Dude, I know about it. I'm saying I don't notice it because I aim for the head and that anybody else having problems should do the same. Just shoot them in the head, they're still a 1-shot kill that way.

    I haven't noticed any weapon nerf myself headshot is still instant kill. One of my friends learned that the hard way when crossing my line of fire. Instead of complaining about the stopping power of pistols, start working on your marksmanship.
  7. bahahahahaha, you can't be serious? The patch notes were out of date when I last checked, which was yesterday. They did something to .45 ammo, probably by mistake/accident.
  8. dayzcommander reboots my router, even with the slower update option checked. Other than that I like it, lol.

    BattlEye client not responding

    reinstalling doesn't fix it for me, something "changed" after beta 95054 such that battleye always ends up "not responding" 5-15 minutes after I join just about any server. I've uninstalled everything, reformatted the drive in question, reinstalled steam, reinstalled arma2/oa/dayz, same shit. 5-15 minutes into the game I get disconnected due to battleye not responding. I suspect if I had a different router the issue would go away but this router worked fine with 95054 and previous betas---and their related versions of battleye---so I'm not going to buy a new router for something they broke and could break again regardless of what router I have.
  10. Thanks to battleye I can't even play DayZ for more than 10 minutes at a time. Something happened after 95054 beta that makes Battleye end up "not responding" 5-15 minutes after I login to a server. I'd rather have punkbuster, it hasn't ever prevented me from playing any hl/hl2 mod/tf2/l4d/etc.

    If you spend more than 30 minutes in Stary you're camping, not gearing. ;)
  13. Depends on where I'm at and what I'm doing. These are possible options: 1. Kill it loudly. 2. Kill it quietly. 3. Run away, breaking line of sight on a row of bushes/trees. 4. Run into a building with a large entrance or with multiple entrances and leave them behind while sprinting out the opposite door. 5. Wait for the person with the bison or mp5sd to do their job 6. Wait for the person using stanag sd ammo to do their job 7. Not even notice it until I get knocked down with a broken bone because I've got tunnel vision 800m down range on some fool running across an airstrip in broad daylight.

    Stary Sobor dead?

    We were on a full server yesterday and spent over half an hour in Stary without seeing anybody. It was spooky, like there was a zombie apocalypse or something that had killed off all the humans except for us.
  16. What part of getting chased by zombies doesn't start out completely unrealistic? I've yet to be chased by one, much less a horde of them in real life, yet to see it on CNN, yet to read about it in the newspaper. Please, inform me of these realistic zombie hordes that the game should be properly modeling and isn't.
  17. No. I'm not interested in paying for a game that wasted resources on a throw away singleplayer experience. Singleplayer is a dinosaur that needs to be put into storage until technology has advanced to the point where we have really good AI. Until then it provides no challenge that doesn't involve behind the scenes cheating or overwhelming numbers, neither of which I find entertaining in the least.
  18. So many incorrect statements in your post, not sure where I should begin. Zombies are an environmental hazard. If you disagree with that I guess you've never been knocked down with a broken leg by one swipe from a zombie. You've never aggro'd a zombie while trying to sneak into town. You've never aggro'd a zombie while firing your weapon. etc., ad nauseum. As far as how this game is different than other PvP games, it is quite easily stated: Open World, start with nothing but a bandage and a flash light. There are lots of PvE zombie games but I can't think of another Open World PvP, barehanded start game. I can't even think of an open world PvP game that isn't just a subset of some crappy MMO. If you want to play against zombie AI that never learns, that never challenges, that grows stale within minutes of playing the game there are plenty of PvE zombie games to choose from. Go play them. If on the other hand you want open world hardcore PvP in a zombie-infested post-apocalyptic landscape you came to the right place.

    DayZ Inventory Redesign

    I think that is the most depressing thing I've noticed in Arma 3 footage: The same crappy inventory system from Arma2. For a game purported to be a sim they go out of their way to make an inventory system far more difficult than the reality they're attempting to model. Why do I need space in my pack to swap from primary to flashlight? Do real people attempt to stick assault rifles into their backpacks? I seem to recall this handy invention called the "sling". I seem to recall seeing them attached quite often to rifles.

    I don't see an inherent contradiction in killing everybody who isn't part of my group and continued survival. In fact I find that dead players are the least dangerous aspect of this game. People who keep asking for gameplay changes to increase grouping are ignoring that smart players already group up AND KILL OTHER PLAYERS ON SIGHT WHO AREN'T PART OF THEIR GROUP. The only way you stop players from killing other players on sight is to remove PvP entirely. Good luck with that.

  22. You don't need weapons to do anything besides kill animals or players. Everything else in this game can be obtained without ever attacking anything. If your stealth skills aren't good enough during daytime I suggest you try nighttime, the zombies don't get much Vitamin A in their brainz diet.
