No thanks, not interested in an endgame that centers on PvE when the only part of the game I've enjoyed up to that point is PvP. People who think every game needs an "endgame" really need to think again. "Endgames" are required for games with monthly fees. Other games don't need one at all. SImply put, if you don't enjoy the game without an endgame then why on earth would you spend the time playing to get to an endgame? I find it mind-boggling. -

The community hasn't changed. The metagame has evolved as people gain experience and realize zombies are actually quite boring. Just look at youtube videos posted by people who have been playing awhile. They start out playing one way and eventually end up playing quite another. Not because of some imagined change in the community but because of an experienced approach to DayZ. PvP? Endlessly entertaining. PvE? Almost instantly boring.

I thought I had found some in an office building. Instead it was the civilian clothing somebody had dropped there when they changed clothes. NOoOOOoOOoOooOooO. So close, lol. -

Crazy graphical glitches after updating to 1.7.2.4 and 95389

I wouldn't count on it, after all graphics glitches off of barbed wire is NOT A NEW PROBLEM. One of the recent updates just took an existing issue and applied it to even more players. :) On top of that ruined humvees are causing the same corruption now as well. -

It isn't barbed wire. When this happened in the past it was barbed wired. Now it seems to be wrecked humvees that are giving me the most problems. If you have this issue you'll notice it at the gates to nw airstrip, where the ruined humvees are. You'll notice it at the central industrial building there too, where the ruined humvees are. -
Looking over the patch notes I can't see anything that would seem related to the massive increase in artifacting we're getting. Maybe it was one of the 2-3 beta patches we've had yesterday/today and not DayZ itself? I went to Stary and couldn't even see the tents for all the artifacting, figured it was just me. Took a group to NW airstrip and it was impossible to navigate due to artifacts filling the entire screen for all of us. If it was DayZ then it should have shown up in last night's testing. You can't tell me none of those testers were at Stary or NW Airstrip. :) If it was *814 beta, or a combination of that beta and DayZ then it wouldn't have shown up until today?

Funny how people make up changes that don't exist. The map and gps work just like they used to if, IF you're on a server with the same settings as you're used to. Temp is off the debug panel AND this is the first time I ever got the shakes from being too cold. Coincidence? Even stranger, pain pills cured the blinking thermometer and the shakes. Thermometer went to alpha, though, instead of green or red or blinking, was just the outline. -
I didn't say there was. I was responding to a conversation where the context was that there was. In that context if you can't headshot somebody sitting there for 5 seconds you are a bad shot. :)

FN FAL has great damage, ok range, and is pretty loud. I'd take it over any other AR with just iron sights. Since I can get an ACOG on an M16, though, I prefer that as my primary with an SVD for longer range and an M9 SD for stealth work. I prefer the ACOG on an AR because it is a quicker option for scouting than switching back and forth between binoculars. Not only can I quickly scout an area but I'm also ready to fire on any target I locate.

The player isn't moving in those five seconds, he is just sitting there. If you can't headshot that target you probably shouldn't be playing shooters.

He isn't a super hatchet hero in that video, lol. He doesn't even find a hatchet, a hatchet he wants so he can cut firewood to cook meat. Maybe you don't understand spoken English so don't know what he was saying in the video.

I find it easier to play solo than to play in a group, mainly because I take far fewer risks and end up in far fewer dangerous situations. You haven't played much if you think blood is a problem. You don't replenish your blood with a blood bag, you replenish it with cooked meat. 1 Cooked meat = 800 blood. Instead of advocating changes you think you need because you don't know how to play the current game, learn how to play the current game. Rhinocrunch started a new solo series today, I suggest you watch it. His first episode he starts on a moonlit night, hits up Balota airstrip and Cherno, grabbing most of the necessities to survive without taking any damage, without firing a single shot. He is good at explaining why he is doing something, why it is a good idea, why it will help you survive. Somebody plays every bit of content in an Alpha---evidently enjoying it else why continue?---and then decides the mod is boring when he runs out of content. lol. -
If you want an update just launch DayZ and put 1.7.2.4 into your filter. That will show you the test servers. If one of the test servers is at near-max capacity---as it is right now---they're probably still "testing". I'd say at this point if Friday/Saturday/Sunday releases are out of the question you're looking at Monday if they don't find any show-stopper bugs. Path of Exile has open test this weekend, play that while you wait. :) Every MWO founder who doesn't have beta access gets it today, you could play that too. :)

How are the nerfs affecting the bandit buisness?

Enfield was nerfed too, otherwise you could have just 1-hit the other player. Nerfs haven't effected my playstyle at all. Headshot with SVD, M16A4 or M9 SD still equals instant death. -
I feel sorry for people who think a no-PvP version of this would be even remotely entertaining. Even the best zombie PvE games only hold interest for a matter of days.

What are your methods or routes to finding good weapons?

Spawn on coast, get a hatchet from nearest barn, check every sniper spot around Cherno for a fully-geared player. Find one, axe him a question, take all his gear. This method saves so much time and effort since you get everything except your hatchet in one place, the tunnel-vision sniper you just axed. -
In the real military how are they taught to deal with zombies? People who cherry-pick their realism to support their arguments probably don't win too many arguments. I am not saying the changes were good, I'm saying you have the ability to deal with the changes in-game. I'd think you'd have more fun doing that than crying about it on the forums but I could be wrong. I've been using headshots since the day I started the game, it just makes sense to conserve ammo that way.
