Okay so my dipwad of a friend (Ingame name "Selby") has a blacklisted gun in his inventory, we haven't been onto hive servers since 1.7.6.1 and went back on to check out 1.7.7 and to cut a long story short, he can't play. Due to what we believe to be some variation of an AK 107 (It's been a while since we were on) being in his inventory, he gets kicked for Cargo restriction # 6. I was just wondering if there was anyway to reset his character data to allow him to start a new character on DayZ or anyway to remove it from his inventory. <<Playing NZ hive servers (21, 22) btw>>

Unable to repair vehicles fully, since update 1.7.3

Hmm, I had a similar problem with the white off road in particular, I checked a few NZ servers, each one of the spawns had the off road with the same damage and none wanted to be repaired, so far as I can tell, they can't be fixed at the moment. -
To those who look down on bandits/pvp...

hey I don't mean to be rude, but as much as scumbag sniper PvP is annoying, PvP is essential to the game in that peopl make the decsion on how play and survive, be it killing another player in a confrontation. But a PvP only server??? Have you heard of this game called Arma 2? You bought it right? You know it has its own MP game types right? I have, just for lulz played a "Death match" Dayz server, yuo get a loadout set up randomly and parachute in and there are buildings and loot spawns, but they arent used its a giant deathmatch reminicent of actual Arma 2 gameplay xD, completely pointless. Anyway, a specific PvP server would serve no purpose because the only thing it would add would be a food/water metre as I'm sure we all agree, DayZ mod Zeds are a funny side game in this. -
BUT REMEMBER KIDS! Drugs are bad.

bro, you're forgetting about the triangular lump of ground boss, that mofo flips 2 ton cars and 5 ton trucks
-
Ahhhhh, see that's your problem right there :D You can only check spawns directly after a restart, if you don't find one within an hour of the restart, your best bet is to wander around up north anywhere you think would be a good idea to stash a vehicle. The bonus of doing this, is, if you do find a vehicle, chances are you'll find it near a camp and you'll be pretty set after a raid through their hideout... the one draw back being, there's a good chance if its a high pop server, you may run into the survivors who set those bases up, so tread carefully, hope this helps.

The reason you should buy it and play it is not as simple as it's a "Good game" it is a unique game that requires as much though as a good game of chess, you need to plan where you want to go, what you'll need to get there, ration your supplies and factor in annoying, yet also rather comical zombies (Don't worry too much about their erractic movements, they're doing the best they can with ArmA2 and it will be better in the stand alone), not to mention the possibility of bandits and other survivers. Once you do that, you're on the move, either sneaking slowly through a town to check for the most basic survival items, maybe checking a firestation for some military loot... then you see it, a sweet ass rifle, maybe an AK or an M4, the type you're familier with from all the typical FPS'. But no, it's different, you have scarce ammo, it takes time to get used to, knowing its range limits, it's noise, it's ability to draw agro from all corners of town. You start moving from town to town, deer stand to deerstand, finding precious ammo to feed your one companion you can truely rely on, then it happens, a bullet wizzes by, you sprint for the nearest bit of cover, your heart rate leaps up and you're searching for the bandit. You see him, he has some friends and a car. A firefight ensues, you breath deep long breaths trying to stop the adrenaline from shaking you as you desperatly fight for what may as well be your life. By some miracle you seem to over power them, your trust rifle has gotten you through so much and you have less than a mag left, btu they're all dead. You spritn over to their corpses and loot to your hearts content, packing all their food, ammo and guns into the sedan they were driving in. But alas, you were reckless, you hadn't made sure they were all dead, as you step into the car all you hear isthe crack of a rifle, the smash of glass and before you know it, your body lies limp in the drivers seat as you see the combat log announce your death and a final bandit totting a large rifle run back to the car.... "YOU ARE DEAD" is the next thing you see, you're numb, you can't seem to proccess what happened, one second you're on top of the world, the next, awash with sadness, grief and anger. You respawn on a familiar beach, near Chernogorsk, you silently make your way back to the town, empty, with nothing but a box of pain killers, a bandage and a flash light. You are sad, but don't be, you're starting a whole new adventure...

What is the difference between a bandit and a coward?
Alpha331 replied to Ozelot (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Ehhh, I would say far more of a bandit move, I, personally don't see myself as bandit as I rarely kill people, I find pointing a gun at someone's head and asking them to kindly move along without bloodshed works well enough for me. But I have killed a few players, most of the time for a vehicle. Veehicles in this game are very rare and anyone who posseses one should be aware of the risk they make, a fresh spawn who finds a car has made the decision to be a giant high value target, so they should be on guard. Also in any case, whoever is driving a car may aswell be unarmed considering the amount of time it takes to get out of a car and set up a good firefight is so great you'll die anyway. So to sum up, no, not a coward move, just a very concious decison to sack up and do what you needed to do to get yourself an upperhand in the zombie apocalypse. -
So yeah, I just set up a new rig, prior to this I had been using a laptop my family had got me for Christmas/birthday (around the same time), I would be perfectly happy using it except for the fact it was designed by morons. It's a Emachines E732, i3 processor, 4Gb DDR3 RAM, decent 500GB HDD... but for some reason they decided to use Intel inbuilt HD graphics, which suck so much crap. So anyway, anybody else ever have/seen a computer that made you sigh and facepalm?

I have a similar problem, except I was sniped in camo clothes, I respawned on 0 humanity, down from 5,300 and then I walked around for a while waiting for my friend to get on to bag him, but it got to 600, then i logged off, i came back an hour later and im on 0 again, anyone know how to fix this, I don't like looking like a bandit (also I see myself in hero skin so not sure if this changes anything)
-
double post sorry
-
Ok they really don't work. I had Camo before I got sniped after me and a mate set up camp in the middle of nowhere, he was pissed, but I was used to BS deaths like that. Anyway I respawn and get the horrible glitch where you loose all humanity I was on 5,300 then I respawned on zero, trouble was I thought I had hero sjkin on, but then everyone shot me on spawn and I finally clicked that I had bandit, anyway, I then use about 10 bloodbags on my mate to get my hero skin back. This highlights two problems, one skin glitchs, secondly and more importantly you can't be sure, me I was a guy with only one self defense kill to my name looking like a bandit, then the next minute I look like a hero because I exploited it back. People are more comfortable shooting a bandit, you have to do something pretty bad to be a bandit most people think, but with a hero, its so easy to get, you may as well be an untrustworthy bandit in hero's clothing.

To those who look down on bandits/pvp...
Alpha331 replied to daspope's topic in New Player Discussion
I consider the getting sniped business a really cheap and irritating death, namely because all I see is "You are dead" and that's the end of that. I can understand why a balanced fight would be fun, the one time when I was jumped by another survivor in Kamenko when we had a hatchet duel was amazing, kiting through the town getting every zombie on us and trading blows was so much fun, because, even though I wasn't expecting it, it was a PvP experience that had both of us with a chance to win. The so called "PvPers" that sit on a hill and snipe people who have no clue of their murderers whereabouts or intentions, who pose no threat to campy McSniperton aren't "PvPers", they're people who are just bored with the game and take some sadistic pleasure in ruining someone else's game. So rather than finding a different game to play, rather than attacking someone who has a chance of killing their attacker, they sit on their buts with a sniper scope glued to their eyeball and pick off random people going about their day trying to survive, then to top it all off, they complain about how boring the game is and use it as a flawed justification as to why the snipe everyone they see. TL;DR Proper PvP, fine, annoying prick sniper, go away, we don't want what you're selling. -
How to gear up on respawn while avoiding zombies?
Alpha331 replied to ThuggleS's topic in New Player Discussion
Kamenko, simple layout, a few spots to find basic loot, then you can head to the next town over, Komarovo and loot the warehouse/officey building and by then you should have enough to venture to a few barns for a gun. IMO best starting gun is the Winchester, large clip, moderate noise (quiet comparatively to other guns) and behaves much like a rifle and has a decent range. -
Day Z should be a constant battle for the resources you need, not a constant battle for something to do.
Alpha331 replied to Silent331's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
@silent331, fair point, but I was getting at the fact that, if you kill a survivor in these hypothetical food shortages, you may gain 1 or two pieces of edible loot, however if you team up with them, you can then loot more effectively and gain 3 or four pieces of food (among other items) each. But then again, the psych of most players in this gain is "shoot first..." and "oh look a piece of candy", they, IMO don't really give any thought to the fact that they're really fucking up someone's game, so this may not working out the way I predict and more the way you predicted.... this game really depresses me sometimes. -
This isn't really a newb concern as such, but I've been playing for a month or so and me and my mates have found four vehicles, 1 boat (Marzeman then got shot looking for fuel) 1 bicycle, 1 ATV next to a guy who was obviously hacking because weapons kept dropping around it, and I was on NZ05 when Kemanko was on fire and there were a bunch of trashed buses, one I drove for about three second before it spontaniously combusted. So any way, the question is this, can you help with any suggestions finding vehicles?

Alpha331 replied to Silent331's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
It's true, half the people I've met have killed me, BUT the other half have been more than willing to share supplies with me because they realised that me alive would be more useful to me than risking aggroing ever zombie near us in a firefight that would leave one of us dead and the other in no state to survive. IMO reducing food would actually increase teamwork, rather than legitimise banditry, looting a zombie infested city would be much easier with a few mates covering you with their snipers aimed at ZOMBIES rather than players, which I thought was their main use for them, reducing food spawns and general equipment in the game as well as scarier zombies would make the game much better, because it makes teamwork necessary, not optional. In a real zombie apocalypse I'm pretty sure most of us here would get cut down within the first week if we tried soloing ;) -
YES! It is a great feeling finding a gun, It's great just knowing you have it and it's better knowing you can generally survive without it... Then, when S*&t really hits the fan, you can be damned sure you won't be going down without a fight. Not just finding you're tenth lee enfield and being mad because you already have one and you really want a sniper rifle and an AK to run around killing zombies because you're bored and then when you aggro every zombie in town and run out of ammo, just logging out to repeat the looting process for ammo and start again. If you play like that, you ruin the game for the guys who are trying to survive and be stealthy when you aggro every zombie and the guy that was making a quick dash across the road gets seen by all the zombies now running past him in the direction of the shots.

AHAHAHAHA! that's rich, the last five or so replies you have made have in some form or another been you bitching about how you can't play the game, when I said at the start, that I acknowledged you didn't need want help, I was trying to make this game a little more fun for you by giving you some simple advice about how to make the game easier for you, considering you can't seem to hendle the incredibly complex tutorials anywhere else, but fine if you want to insist that I'm off topic, maybe you should keep on topic, about how you think the games getting worse because it's getting harder... OH WAIT! That is what we've been talking about, an easy game getting too hard for you to play... interesting. Tell me again how, me telling you how to get better at the game isn't related to this post, because IMO, if you stop being so darn stubborn about how hard the game is, give it another chance and rather than acting like some whiny CoD boy who runs everywhere in video games because he's too impatient, you would understand, this game isn't getting worse, it's becoming more challenging and keeping the people who play the game on their toes.

To whoever finds this note, If he's passed out don't hurt him please! He's Marzeman and he's the only friend I have left in this hell hole. If he is out, check his pulse and please keep him comfortable, hes really low on blood, I had to half drag him here from the last town, we came here, just like every other place on our way to Cherno, looking for food, we only found two cans of beans, I felt really guilty about eating one, but he told me I had to eat to keep my strength up, it was best for both of us and I was just soooo hungry. If you have any spare please offer it to him. Anyway I've left him up in this small building with a gun, some drink (which we have plenty of and he'll be happy to trade it for food) some hay to keep warm and some chem lights. I left for the big city at nightfall to look for food and a blood bag, if I'm not back by sunrise and he's awake, keep him company and I'll try be back by mid day. If, however I'm not back by mid day, I please implore you to help him get on his feet, if you can't and don't want to risk a suicide mission to save someone you don't know, then fine, just put him out of his misery, he'll die of exposure with no one helping him, I'm not a praying man but if you are, do pray for my safety, not so that I may live, but so my companion may have a chance of survival in this world he believes his God givith to him, and let him survive this so called culling of all the sinners of the world so that he may live to see the end of the apocalypse and preach the word of his god to any and all who will listen. Sincere gratitude, Alex.

In all my play time I have never seen matches, they remain for me, the prize among prizes, a way of getting food and blood back from crappy canned food or looting the camped out hospitals for blood. If everyone had matches, there would be no animals left, all dead, It would ruin one of the last real survival element that seriously effects game play, food. I'm sorry if this seems mean but matches for everyone is stupid, I would like the chance of matches spawning a bit higher, but not free. This brings me to my next point, the free hatchet. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! The hatchet is the most OP zed smashing weapon, it one hits everything! Also the fact that you want to spawn with one is comforting as it makes me wonder if you have trouble finding one and getting started after spawn, they are so common in most places it becomes annoying, Eg. finding 4 in a barn. People shouldn't start with hatchet, it would make starting out again far too easy. If you need a weapon to survive this apocalypse, where the zombies are oblivious to everything not making noise, but standing right infront of them, where you can crouch run around a building to lose them, you need to work on your skill level, maybe WII sport might work for you.
-
I don't see why most people don't play this way, its damn fun, so fun in fact I'll hack through a conga line of 13 zombies and loose blood and my only bandage, just for the chance to make someone elses DayZ experience a bit better. And to be honest, only a right royal prick is going to kill the dude who selflessly waded through a horde to save him. You guys should try it, even if only once and you will really enjoy the fact that you just helped some poor sod with the least chance of survival (unless he guns you down, in which case, they're a prick and it doesn't count).
