Maybe you did not uninstall 95883 (delete beta folder) before you reverted? in that case it would be just 95883 with maybe a little extra code (i think).

hmmm... this makes sense. I had to force-quit due to load screen, and i spawned half the map away and lost my coyote backpack.

Sniper is just the name given to players in ghillie suits, not hackers...this is a cheap move. -
Wait, you list all these guns, and don't include one of the most iconic guns of WWII, the M1 Garand? Sounds good, but a lot of work involved. Maybe in the standalone, but it would be too much to add into the mod (unlikely these are in arma 2 currently)

I honestly think the best thing to do is to leave it for now until most of the bugs have been ironed out etc. Although, as DayZ standalone is being developed now, it is likely that a reset may happen when that is released.

My inventory is identical except i don't carry other clothing on me. Everything except the soldier is legit (although there are rumours of soldier spawning on heli crashes). Keep the gear and have fun.

Sorry I didn't specify. yes this is what I was referring to. I loved my SVD due to it's ability to hide me better (camo), but once i found an AS50 (173k damage), I've never looked back.

Only ever found one in the barracks ONCE in over 2 months of playing. While it has a built-in rangefinder, it is probably not used as much as AS50/M107 due to its inability to zero and zoom.

Been suggested a lot. I honestly feel (if it can be implemented) that if you are within x metres (x probably being 100m or less) of gunshots, your body should wait 30 secs before disappearing but if you are farther away then you are fine (no delay). I also feel that if you disconnect bleeding, you should continue to bleed until you bandage yourself (making alt-F4 a lot harder as you would lose too much blood to disconnecting and restarting the game to survive easily). TBH though, I have hardly encountered alt+F4s (one-hit-kill guns work wonders :P ENFIELD FTW!)

There (occasionally) is an NPC who runs around the map, gets in vehicles etc. Sometimes he has good gear and other times not so good. Anyways, these messages (from experience) have shown up whenever we have shot this NPC. Kinda amusing when you see him at/near the top of the zombie kill scoreboard (I think the name is george smith or something). -

once i jumped a couple of guys with my AS50 near Novy Lug (1 had an AS50 other had M4SD). I was lucky they ran right past me in my ghillie with my M4SD out at the time. I waited until they were 200m away and fired 2 shots, and both targets were down. Next thing i know i hear crack, crack, crack (that familiar sound =P) as they must have had another buddy with an AS50 meeting them or something. I sprint to my motorcycle, zigging and zagging like crazy, jumped on and got the hell out of there. I still don't think i've ever had such a high heart rate EVER as i did then. This mod is just great at doing stuff like that. -

First, download and install the beta patch from the arma 2 beta patch website if you have not already done so. FOR RUNNING WITHOUT GOING THROUGH STEAM Then, inside the ../steam/steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead folder on your default steam install drive there should be a file called "_runA2CO_beta". Open this file in a text editor (such as notepad or notepad++). Find the section near the bottom that says ":run" (shouldn't be hard). find the line "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca" and change it to "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;@DayZ" then if you want to skip the stupid boring stuff at the start (just load menu) add "-nosplash" after "-mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" outside of the quotes so that it looks like this "-mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion" -nosplash . Then save the file and close it. To run DayZ, double-click the file you just edited to launch (no overlay etc. as it is going out of steam). TO RUN IN STEAM To launch in steam, first rename the .exe "ArmA2OA" to something recognisable (I did "A2OA norm"). Then locate the "beta" folder located in expansions. Copy "arma2oa" (an exe) to the folder where you had just renamed the other file (steamapps/common/arma 2 operation arrowhead). Then, inside steam click games, then add a non-steam game to my library. Click browse, and then navigate to the arma2oa you had just copied. Click add selected programs. It should now appear in your steam library as arma2oa for the game name. Right click on the game in the library and select properties. now you can rename arma2oa to DayZ (so it filters as DayZ in the library list). Then underneath the name where it says target, add -mod=@dayz -nosplash after the quotation marks of the file location. Hopefully you can launch DayZ through steam now (like I do). I hope you can read and understand this mambo jumbo, as it is 11pm here so i'm getting ready for bed. Let me know if you have any issues. -

Unless I'm on comms with them and they have earned my trust (TS, not just voip) I will shoot on sight. It's essentially the only way to survive left in this game. Being the pilot though has dropped my average murder/week count a lot. -

My guess is if there is a river (like a wide body of water with land on both sides), it is likely you at the bay to the north of Olsha (north-east corner of map). Are there trees or no? -
Quick question about Packs and Tents

The backpack items will (usually) only remain until the next server restart. As i say this though, tents are extremely buggy and as such sometimes it doesn't save at all, dupes gear, or doesn't despawn items in backpacks. -

For starters, please do not say "an admin teleported me" as they cannot do that. Are there trees around? If so, you are still on the map. If you can move around, head south until you reach the coast. Then head east and you will eventually run into a town. If you cannot move, just leave your character on overnight or something so he/she starves to death. -
and then the unarmed players do this... (a video posted couple of days ago on forums)

The DayZ devs have no control over this. It's the people over at BattlEye that are responsible for trying to stop hackers.

Illness is already in (requires antibiotics to fix). As for the others, i think there are enough status effects at the moment. I'm playing a survival mod not a go to hospital mod.
