Removing spawns is making this game bad

Completely random spawns are a terrible idea and I'm glad the devs aren't dumb enough to do it. -
Removing spawns is making this game bad

The problem is there's nothing in those bases you can't get at the neaf, or town. Yeah, you've got a higher chance/more options to get some attachments but why bother when you can server hop at the neaf or even better just kill some one? I'm not a fan of server hopping, and it's shitty that it's the current state of the game, but that's the truth for most players. Why run 20 minutes across the map when you can swap multiple times? Also, for a player like myself who doesn't care about m4s there's really no reason to go. The highest end gear I care about is a long range scope, and usually not even that. It's easier for me to kill a sniper and take his gun than to bother going cross country. This will get sorted out as more gear is added, but until it is that's the state of the game which is why they shouldn't have bothered adjusting spawns yet in my personal opinion. Once shit like high end guns and gear (nvgs, range finders whatever) gets put in, and hopefully put in specifically to the west then we will see traffic increase across the map. Loot respawn is also important for this. -

http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/198365-official-spawn-in-east-travel-west-source/#entry1995792 It's by design, you're meant to spawn east and travel west, though I agree they should have waited till the game was more complete before doing it as there's little to no incentive to leave the east currently. That will come as content is added, in the mean time I would have preferred they left the entire coast. I also don't care for some of the inland spawns they've been adding. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Bororm replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
But what's their actual value? A full 30/40/60? Do you set every mag to its full amount, just to set every duped mag to normal? Set them all to 0? I mean it wouldn't really make much difference either way, some people would either lose some ammo or get full mags which isn't a big deal compared to the infinite ammo mags but it just seems easier to wipe it all. It's not just mags that are duped extensively either though, it's full inventories. I don't really care either way as long as they're removed though, just seems like less work to wipe it all. That hotfix very well could have done it, but I've not noticed any impact at all myself. Still run into duped mags constantly which is why I figured it wasn't even in yet. -

I thought the fix for infinite ammo mags wasn't actually in yet. If it is, then what's mentioned above is true, people are still just duping them. So maybe they should just do a full wipe if it is fixed. Some people will bitch, but unless all you're doing is hanging out on no pop servers alone in the woods, everyone dies eventually any ways. Besides that, it's alpha =P They need to fix how easy it is to dupe too though before that. -
I'd wait for the patch which is hopefully Wednesday, give it a go and see how it is. You can always take another break, the games not going any where :]

Yeah that's true as well. Really short of what we saw with private hives in the mod, and admins being able to check logs as well as whitelist servers I don't know that there's a ton to be done. The hacks need to be addressed at the source, but they'll always exist/evolve, so there's a need to police them as they happen. But giving people power to do so, also gives them power to be assholes themselves (hey just like real life policing =P). Eventually the good servers with fair/legitimate admins rise to the top, but finding a server is a pain and shitty drama always ensues. You could do paid game masters like subscription based mmos which helps cut down on the corruption, but I don't know that it's in the budget without some other form of monetization. Personally I'd be willing to pay a subscription to DayZ if it meant a huge reduction on hacks, but they've already made promises that it will never go that way.

Yeah, which is why I don't really consider it torture to begin with. I wasn't included but I'll answer any ways. Personally, as long as the game was still fun and it wasn't the major focus I don't think I'd really care what they added. If it turned into a total rape/baby killer/twisted simulator, like if that became the focus of the game, I'd no longer be interested and I wouldn't buy it to begin with. But, if fucked up shit was added, but was an option and an edge case that I didn't need to willingly participate in or be frequently exposed to, and the rest of the game was awesome I probably wouldn't really care. Again I'd think it was in really poor taste though.

Yeah pretty much my thoughts, similar to the discussion going on in the other thread. The false reports would be through the roof and make it pretty meaningless, even more so if it was done in regards to telling you who killed you, rather than you checking their body (as suggested in the other thread). Even beyond people calling hacks over legitimately being outplayed, there's enough lag and bugginess in game to create a ton of situations where people would also unintentionally file false reports. -
I think there's a line, I'd draw it around rape. The "torture" present in game isn't very graphic or anything, it's poisoning and beating as mentioned. You aren't pulling finger nails or getting too crazy (ok that one guy shot a dude in the dick with a .22 =P but that's about as wild as you're gonna see and more funny than cruel) so the "torture" isn't really any different than the things you're able to do to a guy who isn't restrained in game. Personally I feel what's in game hardly even qualifies as torture since you can just log off/die, and none of the current stuff should really cause you any real distress. If you get handcuffed, you pretty much did it willingly (in the sense that you could just run/die/fight instead). The closest thing to torture would be breaking a guys leg and making him crawl imo. Dudes already try to simulate rape in game, and I'd leave it at that, there's no need for a rape animation or something and at that point you're getting pretty lewd imo. If it was implemented I wouldn't be up in arms about it, but I'd feel it'd be in bad taste personally. I don't feel it would add anything to the game either.

I personally hate Dota's system (I hate dota itself but that's another topic =P) for that reason, especially because it's automated it punishes people for no reason. I know you're not advocating an exact replica of it. I guess maybe if the process to fill out a ticket was a little more in depth than a ticket popping up just for checking their pulse it could cut down on the false reports. It definitely would be nice to have a way to report people, but I think a better approach would be something like giving admins better tools to monitor this type of stuff. There is of course the risk of giving admins too many tools that they can in turn use improperly which is just as bad as having hackers, so it's a fine line. Perhaps a chat should also be added that only goes to the admins of a server, so that players can report people directly while in game.

Pretty much sums up a trip to berezino or the neaf these days. You did the right thing by just logging imo, that's pretty much what me and my group do now as well. Put your gun away, book it and log. If you stay in, you're likely to die any ways so you may as well risk the time it takes to log. These guys don't have god mode as far as I know, but they've got enough other tricks that while you can probably kill them it's not necessarily worth it. Like in the video, you clearly hit the guy multiple times but he managed to teleport or whatever before he went down. Besides, even if you kill them they'll just regear instantly any ways. This is every day, on every single server for me. Without fail. So I totally feel ya on just wanting to quit till it's addressed. Hopefully that's sooner rather than later. (BTW, I know these threads are popping up a lot and I keep posting in them all. But I think while I'm sure the team is aware of this stuff, it can't hurt to have too many complaints about it as long as they aren't just crying for the sake of crying. It really is a huge deal right now, it's so widespread that if no real focus is put onto it, the game will be essentially unplayable soon in any meaningful capacity. It already nearly is imo, as the post above shows. Yes it's alpha, yes things will be addressed, but there's no reason it can't be made a focus now because these hacks aren't going away and do need to be fixed.) -
It might be helpful but you'd end up with a flood of false reports as well. I like being able to have a different name than my steam name, I had to change my steam name originally when the SA launched because I don't normally use the same name for every game. I don't think this would fix much, and it might also even make things worse if these clowns just start spamming steam invites to people and stuff as well. I do agree however that there needs to be a lot of improvements in antihack measures.

Yeah its been becoming popular now. -
I was getting this with the blaze as well, I was able to continually fire on occasions, or fire like 3 shots instead of 2. Although the others weren't actually firing. I figured it was just lag or something, but it could be a straight up bug. Was pretty annoying in the middle of a fight because some times none of the shots were actually real. I really doubt this as the damage is terrible.
-
Would love to see this. Would add a lot of customization options and help for stuff like group identification and creating a more unique character in general. The majority of players seem to grab the clothes with the most slots, regardless of looks. For those types this would be a nice addition to encourage them to actually differentiate themselves. As it stands, the result is nearly everyone ending up in camo gear.

Well that sucks =/
-
Yeah it's pretty crazy how that slipped through some how. I don't know what they could have changed to make it happen.

Games getting really fucking boring with all the hackers. I'm hesitant to even say where my group hangs out lately as it seems to be the only place without too many hackers, but any time we try to mix it up and go any where else, its hackers or glitchers every single time. Like without fail. Staying in the same town is getting super dull. Does anyone have any quotes or sources on whether they're even actively doing anything about these sort of cheat codes right now? I know they're addressing wall glitching and ammo duping, but what about the actual hacks. I mean I've no doubt they're doing something but is it any sort of priority? -
The 3d ones have the cool benefit of being able to show off their damage in an awesome way, that's probably what they want for the others as well. Again, it's placeholder.
-
Pretty sure they said they plan to make the LRS and probably this PSO scope into 3d scopes as well. So the current ones being 2d are probably place holder till they figure out how to do it.

Am i the only one who no longer can hit anything since there is no more bullet impact?

Unfortunately while knowing the bullet travel time is helpful, server lag actually affects it so it's no 100% accurate all the time. Have fun watching a shot take almost a full second to hit something only 30 meters away =P As to the OP, you're not alone, long range sniping blows right now.
