  3. Ran into tons of people with m4s today on stable, even though they aren't spawning. Without fail, all the ones we managed to kill had infinite ammo mags. I really wish they'd just do a full hive wipe if they can't get rid of these things otherwise, because it's really annoying. And yes, they do still shoot bullets not blanks or whatever that silly rumor was.

    There were some pretty annoying skins popping up in DayZ mod, I never saw dick faces either though honestly. Though the ones I did see were usually more obnoxious, with bright neon colors and stuff. Obviously a detriment to pvp, but annoying and not fitting the setting all the same. I'd like to see instead just options for variations on bears/hair styles/colors, like most standard online games.

    Both shotgun variations are currently broken and only fire 1 pellet instead of the full spread. They've been broken for multiple patches now. They've acknowledged it but it's still broken, even on experimental. http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=12219 Hopefully a fix comes soon, I really miss the shotgun. When they were working, sawed off had very huge spread and was really only effective point blank in my experience. I'd say sub 10m is a fair assessment, with 10m pushing the limit quite hard. Normal shotgun was mainly effective up to about 20m, 30 if you were lucky. The closer the better obviously.

    How is it not a problem? (under the assumption that suicide is a problem, something I disagree with) That's how I suicide in towns without high places like Dubrovka or Pollana. The zombie count is going to increase to the point where finding zombies will be trivial. If anything, it will probably become the preferred method of suicide if fall damage remains as inconsistent as it currently is. Do you guys put any thought at all into these "solutions??" The holes in them are blaringly obvious if you take 5 seconds to think about it. It's likely the reason the "problem" hasn't been addressed in any meaningful matter since the creation of the mod. There's no easy solution, so try to at least put some thought into some creative solutions.

    So you are brand new to the game, just bought it, and die to a single zombie in your first 5 minutes. Now you can't play the game you just paid 30+ dollars for, for 10 minutes. Or you spawn in and some one is camping your spawn point. Come back in 10 minutes please. Oops some one is camping that spawn point too? Come back in another 10 minutes pls. Any system that punishes you by NOT letting you play the game at all for any significant period of time is a terrible idea.

    I dunno what game you guys are playing, but I jump off high shit all the time and only break my legs or nothing happens at all. Fall damage is wonky as fuck as is, making it take even higher is just going to open up the possibility for exploits of getting into places you shouldn't. Also, you make the fall distance too low and I can't wait to see all the paratroopers forgoing parachutes and doing fast inserts by jumping straight from helicopters/planes at 20-30 meters. How do you propose suicide by zombie will be solved, when they actually increase the zombie count?

    So I can get a berezino, or NEAF spawn, suicide and have a guaranteed spawn there for an hour? Sounds like an even better way to promote death matching the cities. I don't see how suicide is a problem, the only arguable point in this thread against it is that it takes up resources producing extra bodies. The fix to that would be something along the lines of limiting how many corpses each player can have at a time, then starting to delete the earliest one. The problem then arises of dying in a fight, and suiciding 5x or whatever the limit is as fast as you can to deny the person who you killed you, your items. To be fair, that would probably take long enough for the guy to loot you, and you'd probably get a spawn you actually want to keep in that time any ways. Bottom line is as long as random spawns exist, people will suicide. You can't take away fall damage or you open up a ton of potential exploits. You can't make it so it just breaks your legs, because you can simply reclimb the ladder and fall off again. You can't make it so you can't climb ladders with broken legs because now you've just fucked up a bunch of legitimate people's game, and potentially gotten them stuck. The game can't differentiate the player's intent, so it's impossible to design a simple that knows you were intentionally trying to suicide and punish you for it without punishing people legitimately getting fucked. There is no good answer to suiciding, besides implementing more methods for groups to meet up. Vehicles were already mentioned and will help a great deal. Perhaps something could be tied into base building eventually, and I believe the devs have even mentioned talks of that. Making the actual spawns more appealing would be good too, a lot of spawns out right suck. Incentives, not punishment. Also, could really do without the sensationalism in the OP. "An all time high," Really????
  14. Arma's hit detection was largely calculated client side I'm pretty sure, that's why it felt a lot more consistent. Items absorbing damage has so many factors to it that it seems very random. Hopefully that will be tweaked and balanced, most likely in beta. Most of the guns have really bad dispersion so hitting headshots consistently at range is pretty difficult/luck based. Again, probably won't be tweaked till beta I bet. Lag/desync kinda stuff makes hitting people a pain. Hopefully as they optimize it improves, but any online game of this scale is going to suffer from lag problems. I agree it needs a lot of work.

    Seems really common for people to get stuck in the police station these days. Had to shoot a number of people who asked me to, after having zombies push them in. Also, wall glitching is alive and well at the neaf unfortunately. Apparently their fix didn't really do shit for it.

    If you're too lazy to rebind your keys, like I am (yes I'm well aware that's some high level laziness =P) you can use the + - on the numpad to zoom in/out, so you don't have to hold your breath. Added benefit of being able to zoom in/out in increments rather fully. Sniping sucks right now though, I'd wait till the patches. You'll be able to see impacts again, weapon sway will be fixed and bipods will be attachable again. It'll return to being too easy to snipe probably =P Though that's still better than just being shitty as it currently stands. I prefer the magnum for style points as my pistol of choice. If I were going for pure practicality either the FNX or the CR75 would probably be best, since they have the highest capacities. All the pistols seem to have shit accuracy. Go shoot a wall, the spread is absurd. 1911 is stylish too though, for certain.

    You can stick them in a holster now supposedly. Anyone done that? Would love to see a picture of it cuz it sounds pretty silly. Would be nice if they'd implement different kinds of binoculars or something, some being smaller. 4 slots does seem pretty excessive. Maybe a monocular or collapsable telescope would be cool.

Hope they don't add any vehicles because not everyone knows how to operate them. Hope they don't add tents either, some people don't know how to put up a tent so very unrealistic and silly.     You won't need to carry your gun for weeks you can stick it in your tent till you find the ammo. I had occasions in the mod(s) that were similar. Find a lapua on epoch or even an m107 in vanilla. Stick it in your tent and take it out for special occasions. Aside from dupers, that shit was fairly rare. You might only have a few mags for it. I think that's about the level of rarity most people are advocating. Where when you find that .50 cal or LMG or whatever it may be, you're surprised/excited and you have to make the decision whether you actually want to risk using the thing or not. I personally don't like Rocket's plan for like a handful of specific guns per hive. Similarly the idea of helicopter parts being limited by the hive also seems really shit to me. I don't want to server hop for items. I think rarity regulated in that respect is a terrible idea.
