  1. So happy news is the shotgun spread is fixed, got multiple kills with it today and that's all awesome as I often run the shotgun exclusively. However, there is a new bug where you can't eject shells that are loaded. I found myself with a single shell after blasting folk today left in the gun, and was unable to eject it to reload 2. I had to fire it off if I wanted to reload the full amount. I've submitted a feedback tracker:http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=14812 If anyone can confirm the bug please post here and on the tracker. Maybe I was just glitched, but it happened on multiple servers.
  2. Tested with 2 shells and same deal. Can't unload it. Would be nice if people would vote on the tracker so we hopefully don't have to wait 3 patches again for anything to get done with it.

    Supposedly the longhorn is very accurate now and has minimal sway. I'm skeptical it is mosin accurate at long range though but I haven't used it myself yet.

    Is the update as bad as everyone says?

    I can't really record with Fraps any more this patch. I know Fraps is notoriously not so great due to FPS drops and what not, but it's what I've always used and I'm used to it. This patch however, when ever I start recording/pre-recording my frames drop to 1 for some reason. Anyone else getting that?

    Shotgun is mostly fixed. It has a new bug with reloading, however it shoots a full spread again. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/205725-shotgun-spread-fixed-but-new-reload-bug/ Killed a guy who had a CZ with my shotgun today, but that doesn't mean much. Did kill multiple well armed players today with my shotgun too though, so it's definitely back to at least where it used to be. I like the CZ sights and reload animation, but haven't used it for pvp yet.

    Ragdoll! On stable, cool!

    Not a fan of the new ragdolls. They result in really dumb corpse positions, as in any game with ragdolls, and they are also buggy for looting. Basically you have to loot the player's weapons that drop, rather than his body which are often a ways away from the actual corpse due to sliding/balogney. Multiple times today I saw people die in standing or kneeling positions as well, which just looks silly. If they can some how make ragdolls look good, I'd be for it, but I've never seen a game where it doesn't just result in unrealistic poses, which while potentially funny just don't fit the setting imo.

    I am in no way implying his reason for those settings are thus, but a lot of people turn their graphics down because it makes it a lot easier to see other players. I generally have less respect for people sporting shitty graphics since it's so common =P Again though, not implying that's the case here, maybe ya just got a shitty comp. Also, on topic. The multiple head gears stack in absorbing damage, so wearing a helmet+whatever else you can fit on your face gives you added protection. I'm a fan of style>function though. And helmets aren't very stylish.

    I still think written notes should display a different texture/graphic than blank paper so it is easier to discern whether it's a note or blank.

  12. The more concerning factor is that it shows enemies. Also, even with an out of game map I know people who routinely still get lost. There's a difference between knowing exactly where you are, even on an incomplete map, than not knowing at all. Using an out of game map does make in game maps negligible, but using an out of game map you still at least need to know how to navigate. This makes it so you don't need to know how to navigate.

  14. I think it's likely a mistake/bug. That's what I'm hoping any ways. Supposedly it shows enemies in the vicinity as well, which makes it seem like just a bug/leftover from arma to me though. If it's intentional, it's probably one of the worst decisions they've made. I really really doubt it is though.

    He's not really wrong, the majority of the map is being converted to have towns/buildings and at the least, roads. The entire north end of the map used to be largely wilderness, now it is set up to be highly developed. Some of those roads will likely be back roads and not necessarily have towns around them but they will lead some where and even a road itself means ease of travel in the future, meaning less wilderness. The remaining chunks of wilderness are basically the west end of the map and some of the more centralized woods, but those are surrounded by towns as well. I'm waiting to pass judgement on it myself. I think one of Katana's major concerns if I'm not mistaken is reduced hiding spaces for things like tents or vehicles. If the direction they take base building/storage is to barricade existing structures however, then it is possible that additional towns and more houses will lead to a more urban style of hiding your base. Picking a random house in an out of the way town might be more beneficial than posting a tent in the woods. It is hard to say at this point though as we don't know what that situation will actually be like. I do still agree regardless though, that it would have been nice to leave a bit more undeveloped land about.

    It's been confirmed the CZ 527 will have its own scope, so it's likely it won't accept the LRS any ways.

    30 kph actually as confirmed by the devs, so not quite but close. Also, how do you know they won't need parts? Maybe they'll need wheels, chains, pedals who knows?

    Yeah sway was always in there just not as pronounced. Also, the bipod on the mosin had the added benefit of making the reload animation not quite as pronounced, making it slightly easier to see where your shots land. Although, I never tested it properly, maybe that's just a result of being prone in general. Furthermore, the lack of bipod on the mosin is a bug and not intentional, I believe it was Hicks that confirmed it will be fixed but I'm having difficulty finding the post. It was possibly on one of his streams. How they manage to continue to break working stuff is beyond me (looking at you shotgun pellets).

    A large theme of the standalone is creating things from the ground up rather than just slapping things in. I think it would have been a cool addition, but I'd rather they create some original island(s) instead that can be tailored specifically to the experience.

    I've heard on experimental 5.56 spawns in military buildings for the ak 101 so it shouldn't be quite as rare as only spawning at crash sights which is nice. It would have been a really dumb decision to include AK 101s and only have the ammo spawn at crashes.

Adding additional maps yes. Also, the roads don't go beyond the boundaries, they stop at the edges. Those empty roads are where they are going to develop additional towns etc. (god this forum sure likes to fuck up posts, had to edit multiple times)
