    Not to mention you have cover. Seriously, who the fuck is going to step fully exposed real quick to try to shoot some one before popping back behind the corner. That shit's for the movies and arcade shooters, and it's mainly in arcade shooters because they don't have a lean feature to begin with!

    Solution to what? Breaching is fine. Melee combat is a mess overall, I don't think faster strafing is going to help that any, in fact it would probably make it even worse as the game is already so janky from the speed at which players move.

    You can strafe in this game, what are you talking about? It's slow, but that just encourages you to lean out instead which makes more sense than strafing back and forth from cover like a twitch shooter. Still if you want to risk it, it's possible to strafe currently.

    Take a look at all the conflicts currently ongoing around the world gibonez, a ton of those insurgents and rebel groups all have optics on their weapons. I don't think it's as far fetched as you believe. I also doubt they're as fragile as you make them out to be, considering they are designed for war.

    Man I've seen multiple longhorns in the past few days as well. Check the townhall thing in Novo or whatever the new huge city is called, they spawn there fairly often as well. According to dayzdb which may be inaccurate, cz527 mags can spawn in uaz wrecks, police stations as well as the atcs (as well as military buildings of course). The ones I encountered on people were all around the neaf, and the people who had them weren't sporting any AKMs or AK101s or other gear which would imply they'd been to the major airfields. I think it's more likely they got them out of the neaf atc and wrecks. Any ways I'm not calling them common, but I don't think I'd really classify them as rare. I'll tell ya where to find "rare" items though, on other players =P

    I can confirm you can chamber the CZ527 I also don't think the mags are that terribly rare as I've killed a lot of people with them, even on the first day of the patch. I will admit though, I have not found one spawned and don't actually know where they do spawn. Overall I wasn't expecting to like the CZ527 to begin with, as it seems to offer nothing over a mosin. However, after actually using it a little (just to plink some zombies) it's not that bad. I dig the animation and looks more than I thought I would. Hopefully when it gets its own scope it will have some sort of "advantage" such as mildots or something, compared to the mosin. Not all guns need to be equal though. In the end player skill and personal preference usually win out. Also, don't forget style points.

  12. Got that bug where you fire off all the rounds in a gun, but the ammo still stays in the gun showing a stack of 0. Unfortunately, with the shotgun being unable to eject shells, it means the shotgun becomes useless. Relogging didn't work, neither did dropping it or picking it up, and it showed a stack of 0 shells loaded to my friend as well. What a drag.

    Buddy found a makarov in one of the wrecked jeeps. Ammo doesn't seem to spawn for it though.
  15. Cross server persistence doesn't even make sense and is just asking for a ton of exploits and buggery. It's bad enough players can server hop. A large portion of the appeal of persistence is encouraging people to stay on one server. Sorry but this idea is just sorta ridiculous and not going to happen.
  16. Yeah that's a special kind of crazy to think it's a money scheme, especially since massive hacking issues probably deter more potential customers than anything else. Have you seen actual evidence of that? I was under the impression you couldn't actually create items in the SA.

    While that was a pretty cool feature on many of the mods, including vanilla (customized only maybe?), I felt it did detract a bit from the excitement of hearing/seeing a helicopter and knowing it was a player/group. I personally feel it's a bit more of a thrill if the only vehicles are player driven for that reason.

Please vote on the new shotgun bug so we can get it fixed faster than the last issue took: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/view.php?id=14812 The shotgun is back to doing good damage, possibly even better damage than before the previous 1 pellet bug (getting a lot of 1 shot kills lately), but you can't eject shells currently. Meaning you end up with a single shell and not being able to reload the full amount without firing it off. I've been using it near exclusively since the patch hit and having great success otherwise. But we really do need to get the reload issue noticed or it'll go ignored for multiple patches just like before.
  19. Why's it an either/or thing? Both should be fixed and both suck. They're also both tied in a lot of cases. Most hackers also dupe. A guy teleporting with an infinite ammo mag is worse than one without. I encounter exploiters more often than hackers lately. It's extremely frustrating dealing with guys in walls, and guys with infinite ammo mags. I killed a guy with an infinite ammo mag today, with my magnum. That doesn't mean it doesn't suck any less. I kill teleporters too. Saying glitches/exploits aren't a big deal because anyone can do them is beyond stupid in reasoning. Anyone can also buy hacks. I'm not going to resort to duping and wall glitching just because other people do, that's a completely idiotic approach to the situation and one that just perpetuates the problem. Have some integrity. Also, saying Bohemia refuses to do anything is idiotic. They're doing things, it's actually quite a bit better than it was a couple months ago.

    As silly as it might be, I'd like some sort of sword just for fun. Make them really rare or something. Would rather see some sort of broadsword/european sword or such spawning as a really rare thing in castles. In the context of the castles basically being museums currently, it could make sense if still far fetched. I think there's room for "fun" items in DayZ, we already got stupid stuff like payday masks. As long as they don't go overboard with it.
  21. While I don't disagree that it would be nice, I really don't think they'll ever fully fix duping. I think it's worth doing, because as mentioned, they claim they fixed the source of infinite ammo mags. This would get rid of them for realies if that's the case. There's a ton of extra duped items in circulation as well, and even though without fixing general duping that sorta stuff will pop back up, at least it will be a nice restart. This is also a good point, with persistence coming up it would be nice to have everything fresh, even if it's temporary.
  22. I want a hive wipe. It's fucking ridiculous that the source of hacked mags is supposedly fixed and yet I encounter multiple daily, simply because people continue to dupe them from pre-existing ones. Wipe the fucken hive and at least get rid of that particular cheat. I can hide duped mags all day long (and I do) but it isn't gonna make any difference.

    I hope there aren't higher capacity mags for it. I wish there weren't even drum or 60 round mags for the akm and m4 respectively. At least not yet, till they have more variety. It's stupid having guns with such high capacities at this stage of the game.

    Is the update as bad as everyone says?

    One of my main gripes about this patch is ragdolls. I think they look dumb, but perhaps more importantly they make looting dead players a real pain in the ass. You have to target their weapons they drop usually to loot them at all. The result is if you take their gun, then look away from their loot, you're no longer able to loot them or at least it's next to impossible to find that sweet spot again. If a player has no gun and dies, it is also really finicky to try to loot them. Then there's dead players standing perfectly straight up, or kneeling or whatever other stupid poses. Ugh, ragdolls were never a good idea for DayZ imo. I really wish they hadn't implemented them, or perhaps would make it an option since I believe they're client side any ways?
