    leather sack

I think it's cool, even if it does look really gross how it wiggles and distorts =P I like that it only takes a knife to make. As for the question of whether you should use the hide for something else, as far as I know you can only use the boar skin to make the improvised pack from an animal. So really the leather bag is the only use for that type of pelt right now. I don't really feel like it needs to be larger, even if it would make sense based off the size.
  2. Kill the people who have them, before they kill you, easiest way. Snipers are actually the most predictable and easiest players to kill, at least the majority of them. Hang back a bit from a location frequented by them (Ostry, Berezino hill above the north end apartments, etc) and just wait till you hear shots. Zero in on their location, and the majority are going to be too focused on whatever they're shooting at to notice. Now you've got yourself a decked out mosin and ammo. You either have the worst luck ever or aren't checking the right buildings though if you're going 110 hours only finding one, they are pretty common in the buildings people have listed above. Also, your font/format is sorta annoying to read, I recommend not being so extravagant.

Every time I log on Im a Bambie

It's the loot respawn system more than anything. It kinda blows as it stands, some servers have basically no loot and some have lots. Any ways, check garages for long range scopes, as well as pink roof houses. They're actually fairly common when loot actually respawns.

Every time I log on Im a Bambie

Oh no :[ Any ways, yes they add bugs with every patch, it sucks but it's the way it is and it's the way it's going to be. They aren't concerned with "minor" bugs, even if those bugs are shitty for players, because they're building a game right now. Do you iron a shirt before it's even tailored? You're just going to create more wrinkles in the process, so what's the point?

    Tent Placement

Yeah they're fucked up. I think it's probably to do with that unintentional dupe people have been talking about, where putting items in their tent makes the tent keep popping duplicates of the item outside of it. Probably overloads the server or some shit and fucks it up. Just my theory though. Servers really hang on restarts now too.

What's up with the axes/melee weps?

This is how I used to feel about them, till they started doing their laggy hits that seem to hit in an AE around them, and hit me when I'm standing behind them and shit.

What's up with the axes/melee weps?

First person melee is gross, so that's probably the problem indeed, I'll try it next time.

What's up with the axes/melee weps?

I generally find it better to not even kill zombies any more, and instead just try to lose them, because they respawn and reaggro when you kill them any ways.

What's up with the axes/melee weps?

This patch was supposed to make it better, but it made it worse imo.

    Ammo is way too scarce

I'm glad that the game itself is just doing the duping now.

    Ammo is way too scarce

Ahh didn't realize they were so common now.

    Ammo is way too scarce

You might not be a duper but almost assuredly some of those drum mags are duped. If it looks suspicious why take it?
  13. The mod is still undergoing development, maybe you'll have better luck trying to get involved with the mod (or even some of the mods of the mod) for now till you further develop your skills and hopefully get noticed. Good luck!
  14. They've said they are placeholder for sure.

    Tent Placement

My buddy found 3 that we raided, they were predictably full of duped crap (infinite ammo m4s and such). We tossed their stuff and took 2 of the tents for ourselves, though I reckon at least 2 of the 3 tents themselves were duped in retrospect. It doesn't matter much though, the server we were on broke (FL 2-13). My thoughts on tents in general are that with the way loot respawns, it's a pain to find them. It would be nice to be able to do wide circuits of feed shacks and feel hopeful, instead of returning to the same shack hours later or even after restarts to find it still empty. For that reason I think you may actually be better off finding placed tents and stealing them, however the problem then becomes that there are probably so few placed so far that it's a bit of a wild goose chase even with how visible they are. While I agree with Katana that you should be able to place them in such a way as they're easier to conceal, I do sorta like how you can't glitch them into things any more. I was actually a proponent of glitching them in the mod, as I felt if you were able to access it anyone could, so it was just a matter of being aware enough. However, it was a glitch and a bit unsightly so I'm happy for the change, though it should be a bit more lenient so you can get right up to branches/bushes and such. I think we'll see more and varied types of tents and stashes though, that will be more concealable so I'm not too concerned about it. I'm happy they're in, but like most features of the SA it's very bare bones and basically a prototype of what's to come. So I look forward to the future, and am glad they finally got them in so they can start building from there.

    Shotgun still a mess

Shotgun is still a buggy mess. Still can't eject shells, still leaving a single impact. The patch notes say the damage was tweaked, which I think it means it was lowered as I hit a guy with a shot that would have likely killed him last patch, but only broke his arm this patch (I heard him complaining after he killed me). Zeroing seems to affect it more as well, I missed a shot I would have confidently hit last patch as my shot went too high (we're talking like 15m here, on a stationary target). I'm thinking you're best off zeroing down to 50 now for close range (normal range). Not that it doesn't make sense I guess, but it defaults to 100 and before 100 resulted in being straight on at these ranges any ways. Just something to be mindful of I guess. Any ways, the shotgun last patch was borderline overpowered, doing very high damage but with drawbacks. Now dmg is seemingly lower with the same drawbacks, which is disappointing. I just want the thing fixed to back how it was before it got broken to begin with, shooting a proper spread and reloading properly. The double barrel has been one of my favorite guns since the mod. What's everyone else's experience so far?

    Shotgun still a mess

The shotgun is broken but not useless. It's still shooting one pellet but the damage is high. You can't eject shells which is very annoying. It's a mess but last patch it was borderline overpowered, and supposedly the damage hasn't actually changed contrary to the patch notes. It did feel off to me this patch, which I made a thread about, but I need to spend more time with it before any real conclusions.
  18. If anything should be reduced, it's military clothing not weapons. Having super high capacity stuff gives you the ability to carry more ammo/food/water which makes survival easier, more so than the weapons themselves. At least with limited inventory space, you have to forage for food more often, and make those decisions on what to carry. Also, legitimate m4s actually are very rare. 90% of the ones you see are duped.

DayZ is literally unplayable at the moment

Likely due to the population on stable being orders of magnitude larger than experimental.
  20. Bororm

    Leather Sack

Yeah it's super boring and one of the cases where I think gameplay should trump realism. Maybe military gear should just be made more rare or something, or a stamina system should be implemented making you slower the more shit you carry. It's just really dull when 99% of the people you encounter look nearly exactly the same, in full military getup.
  21. Ahh moved to suggestions where no one looks and it's bound to get no attention =P Fair enough though, that's what the sections are for I suppose!

    Shotgun still a mess

I mean it's definitely close, and in 9/10 situations it will work, I just generally discourage relying on it among my friends because it can also get you in trouble if you're not aware that it isn't a completely accurate representation, and they have bitched some times when it results in them missing =P The devs also supposedly want to remove it, so for me personally, I try not to get attached to it. I generally just "feel" for that sweet spot instead. But the important thing is to do what works for you.
  23. Bororm

    Shotgun still a mess

Well don't count it out yet. I mean it is a mess in terms of bugginess, but it doesn't mean it's useless. Especially if the damage is actually the same as last patch. Give it some tries and see how it goes, so we can all get a better idea of how useful it is right now. That was the main purpose of this thread is to gain other perspectives as well.
