"raped by desync" was the title of the video in the op if you didn't notice.
-
What in the world is with the wobble in that video. Also, while there is desync I think that guy was more "raped" by bad aim. As for the flashes, it's never bothered me.
-
How ironic though that you talk about "balls" while playing on a server with rules to make things easier. You know what I do when some one snipes at me and I don't have a scope myself? I go over and "confront the person," not find a server where they simply can't do it =P

Doesn't say professional testers any where in the part I was referring to, though I wouldn't doubt they'd get discouraged too to a point if they were reporting bugs constantly that weren't addressed. People aren't robots, and professional testing is a pretty crappy job with bad pay from what I've heard. My point is you can't just dismiss the entire thing because you personally don't agree with it, when the evidence is right there that some of the points are indeed valid, especially wasting time on talking about the same bugs over and over.

It is supposed to be "end game" in the same way that locations like mil bases are, because that's essentially what the island is. It's on the west of the map (the map flow is supposed to be east to west now) and a pain to get out there and back. Making it a spawn is the same as having old balota a spawn, it's just free easy gear for anyone lucky enough (aka whoever decides to suicide for it) which is not what they want. It'd probably be even worse than balota because people wouldn't even bother leaving, and it would be a microcosm of the "cherno deathmatch" issue so many people complain about (I say this as some one who does not complain about it). And hey, that's fun, but it turns a portion of the map into a tiny clusterfuck that's pointless in any other context, like the potential of the island as a cool place to eventually build a base and defend once all that is implemented. Or just a high stakes unique loot location. It has nothing to do with all the crap you just blabbered on about, and he did suggest alternatives.

Heck you could drop a fresh spawn with 1-2 pistol rounds at the start of the SA.

They are, because I can say from first hand experience that I don't report every bug I find because it seems pointless to do so. Because they likely won't be addressed, or already have been reported numerous times to no result. And the fact that you're here (and we've all seen the devs do it too) defending some of these bugs, is #3. Wasting time going over things again and again. Regardless of if there's valid reasons to let those bugs persist for now, it can't be true of every single one of them and it does eat up time and it does make people jaded. So yes, they are valid.
-
I think #2 and #3 are pretty valid.

Go to prison island if you guys haven't. It's worth the trip just to see the absurd amount of clothing. Like, there's loot explosions, and then there's prison island and it just takes it to a whole other level.

Unless it changed this patch, hitting weapons in hands doesn't break them. In fact, it instead does leg damage/breaks your pants oddly enough. It would also spark if he hit the magnum, so he definitely didn't hit it as you can see blood both times. The guy just likely didn't have ammo.

Do you put videos in a post? Just paste the link and the forum does it automatically.

Heli crash sites spawn in same place on all servers
Bororm replied to frosti's topic in General Discussion
People are just server hopping like mad. Unless you really get there first on a fresh restart, you likely won't get anything. I tried the other night as well but had no luck. I think you'd pretty much need to know a schedule for when some servers restart or just get really lucky if you're trying to hop for it. -
That's not versatility. It fulfills a single role, close quarters combat. An assault rifle is versatile because it excels at both close and medium ranges, and is still functional at long range. When other shells are introduced then it will potentially become versatile. If you are sawing it off for a side arm, what are you using for a primary? That you'd relegate it to a side arm means you don't find it functional enough to be a primary in whatever scenario you're using it for. I used the double barrel near exclusively for months, both in the SA and the mod. It was actually a lot better in the mod as it had longer range and was all but guaranteed to break bones. It's one of the weapons that has had the most ups and downs in the SA in terms of bugs. Overall, it's very effective but with the addition of the pump shotgun it has moved down a notch as far as shotguns are concerned. In terms of extremely close quarters fighting, the shotguns are arguably the best weapons because you can take some one out with a single shot. However, that's their only real role, and in the grand scheme that's extremely situational. Even the best player misses, even point blank. Having 2 shots is extremely limiting. If you were to tier the weapons in the SA, the double barrel would most certainly be lower on the list than a lot of the other primaries. As I said, I love using the double barrel and it seems you do too, but we're exceptions, if you watch anyone else or ask them they're going to be picking up that pump shotgun, or that winchestor with scope, or especially that assault rifle in a heartbeat instead. And that's not just due to preference, they're "better" weapons. No one's clamoring for double barrels.

They're lethal but they require a lot of positioning to be effective against something like an akm with a drum mag, which was the point.

how to get dayz to run better without turning graphics down loads?
Bororm replied to JarheadLeeds's topic in General Discussion
Maybe they mean tiny towns. I don't believe anyone is getting those sort of frames in any of the actual cities. If they are, I'd like proof! -
The new audio module isn't required to fix it, they say they are working on it right now, did you read the report? =P It is pretty unbelievable it has gone this long without being fixed. What's even more worrisome is that they seemed to not even know what was causing it the whole time. But that goes back to chodeofwar's question of why hasn't it been assigned a higher priority? You'd think after a point (that point being within a year and a half) they'd say, you know what? We should really fix this thing. That seems to finally be what they're doing now, at least.
-
I don't think you should spawn on any of the islands.

Mp5 looks stupid without the buttstock, especially with every other attachment on it. So actually, it is very important.

Interesting. I also had a recent encounter where a friend of mine shot some one in the head. Their helmet was not ruined, but their face mask was, which is something that never used to happen. I also had a case of being shot to hell by an ak74 as well as a rak, until I got knocked out but I immediately got back up. I saw a video that I linked in another thread, about shots just not registering some times this patch.
-
They were going to for .57 but changed their mind.
-
Here's a relevant video. Seems like some times hit detection just straight up isn't working, or you're firing phantom shots, or something. I've noticed myself seeming to soak a lot of damage lately, I figured weapons were weaker but this makes more sense. There's been some times where I or a friend headshots some one too and they either dont go down, or when they do go down from other shots their head gear wasn't damaged.

at release

Were they wearing helmets/hats/any headgear?

New school building has a lot of hunter pants. Check the old "gun house" for clothes, including canvas pants. They're the ones that are one room, wood, yellow with blue trim. Prison island supposedly has all military uniforms.

While they've confirmed there will be achievements, I really hope they revoke the idea. The last thing I want is shit popping up reminding me I'm playing a video game, and "rewarding" me for doing trivial shit.
