A Final Solution to the Bandit Problem
Graz (DayZ) replied to EggMcSexy's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
This would encourage bandit behavior more than anything. Bandits are essential to the immersion and tense feeling of this game -
Making new profiles and new lives
Graz (DayZ) replied to Johnpwnedyou's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
+1 My friends also lose my gear, mainly because they are retarded and get me killed. I do enjoy playing with them, but it would be good to have a 'serious' character and another one that tries to drive a sedan into cherno to loot the hospital. -
EVERYBODY HACKING, ON EVERY SERVER!
Graz (DayZ) replied to thrasher (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I've seen plenty of hackers, but the tear train does no good and they are not 'everywhere' This is a battle eye problem and rocket has few options available to deal with hacking. I do like your server idea, it needs to be fleshed out a bit more before something like that comes reality -
I don't like a train, I can see my legs breaking just for standing on it. The idea is great and I can't deny that. The track should be Electro to Berezino, stopping at all stations. This would also fit in nicely with powered cities.

EVERYBODY HACKING, ON EVERY SERVER!
Graz (DayZ) replied to thrasher (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I have all of the above and I VERY rarely see hackers. Also a nuke is a nuke, doesn't matter what part of the map you are in or what skill level you are at. Regardless, you haven't posted pictures, videos or provided anything other than a pointless rant. A spike is not usually indicative of a pattern. I'm sorry to shoot you guys down, I want to stop hacking and posts like these are counter-productive. If you stop feeding the hackers your tears you may find a few go hungry. Until then send your substantiated complaints to battle-eye, they are tasked with stopping it. -
I am %100 for this. I'm also a believer that a lesser chopper crash type deal is in the cities, such as a wrecked truck (lootable) with soldier zombies. So that there is more reason to investigate a town in a more thorough way, apart from a beeline to the hospital/supermarket. Couldn't agree more, the cool shit should be in the cities, but only if they are hell to get in and out off. "Get an L8 or die trying" motto of cherno?

Post is going to be edited, I wasn't getting at groups only!!! I want the game to be harder, grouping is a side effect. Cities shouldn't be free loot for the new spawn, it should be something that attracts bandits, groups and higher tech players.

Bicycles. There should be LOTS of bicycles.
Graz (DayZ) replied to sheephunter's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes most houses have bikes, I doubt the fleeing citizens went on foot, this post pops up every now and then and it gets turned down for the same reasons. 1) A million bikes is laggy 2) There is no RP reason for bikes in every house hold (russians feel free to correct me) 3) Vehicles are supposed to be rare (bikes are very useful and silent) 4) Novelty =/= entertainment Edit: there is also about 10 bikes on the servers already, which equates to 1 in 5. That's a pretty solid ratio, stop searching back yards. -
EVERYBODY HACKING, ON EVERY SERVER!
Graz (DayZ) replied to thrasher (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The problem: 1) Threads like this receiving attention 2) The assumption that anyone who is good enough to kill you is a hacker 3) People not educating themselves 4) Unsubstantiated claims -
Not hard And to the admin, you are required to back up a ban
-
I'm all for this kind of thing. Snipers are deadly and should remain so, but trade offs are always good. If you want to be invisible, you shouldn't have 2 guns, a pistol a bunch of food/water, blood bags, morphine ect I'm sure you've got my point. I'm always up for something that makes the game harder!

how to stop campimg sniper bandits
Graz (DayZ) replied to Robert-_-Frost's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Love the idea of dogtags or kill claiming. I'm not %100 sure I like the idea of stopping the lone bandit, I think there is a ton more immersion when you have to be so careful. An unintended bonus: Spotters very, very rarely get kills. I escort my sniper, and use the GL to ward off bandits, I have nearly 200 zombie kills and 0 bandit kills/murders. Being able to claim kills in this way would encourage people to use support roles. Spotters and escorts are as important as snipers and looters, yet they are shunned positions due to the lack of glory. +1 (if feasible to implement) -
Ability to Combine Partial Magazines
Graz (DayZ) replied to Mr Lawley's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
+1 sir Reloading is habitual to anyone that plays any shooter and it sucks to not be rewarded. I'm ok with some restrictions (toolbox or w/e) so long as we get to do it!! -
Moderator approved ideas will work and the system is already in place on these servers. You are trying to go too big, too quickly. Every game has forum spam that is useless, I'll admit it's annoying to see a really good thread get dropped off the front page by waves of "MY AWEEEESOME IDAE 2 STP HACKER" & "WHO'S SHOOTING IN CHERNO???" Your idea is great but it encourages spam more then it deters it

Motherload of loot 20 tents, locations included
Graz (DayZ) replied to dannymo570's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I do not know who the server is. I've also seen a fair few threads posted about US 35. Few have anything beyond a newly made forum profile posting an unsubstantiated claim of hacking (no mention of clan or admin) or admin abuse. There is probably something going on, but there is very little that can be done about it with the information at hand. Many people in this thread seem motivated to have this server blacklisted. If you want something done you need to do more yourselves. Get screenshots, run fraps, post conversations with members of the clan. The claims against this server raise my eyebrows and I will avoid US 35, but more then that, I'm not convinced. If corruption and abuse is rampant on this server, it should be very easy to gather some substantiation. -
US 1416 Hosted by Bruce Willis
Graz (DayZ) replied to Wallberot's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Make sure the thread is resolved please. I would hate to see this negatively effect the admin :) Glad to hear that everything is sorted -
Taking down the server gives no advantage to the admins. Yes it means that they vehicles that they have found are somewhat protected, but the server is not locked, they are not loot hunting. I routinely shut my server down at nights, the main reason being there is no admin present and I don't want the server unattended for 10-12 hours. My server is usually up well over 18 hours a day and I leave it on over the weekends (as the 2 other admins play at night then) I get that people who are displeased with servers being brought down solely to protect the admin/clan assets. However the people who want free reign during the quite hours are further south on the moral compass, they simply want to pillage unprotected bases. People pillaging my base is fine (finders keepers really) the server getting raped while I am at work or sleeping is more of an issue. I agree that this is borderline abuse, but it's not close enough for me

Possible admin abuse on server US198
Graz (DayZ) replied to dancalx's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Correct, taking a screen shot isn't hard and it backs up whatever your saying. Don't expect anything to be done based off a post alone, sorry to be the bringer of bad news :( -
As an admin I don't support the locking of servers. I'm sorry to see a dispute like this, but it's simply far too open to abuse. As admins you KNOW that people will interpret this is as admin abuse, yet you do it anyway. Regardless of the intentions (I respect that you are "testing") pass-wording a server is against policy. Ask yourself why and it's pretty obvious. The OP hit the nail on the head. 1) I hour with the admin constantly connected 2) There was no real reason to password protect It's great to see some admins speaking up, however locking your server is against the rules for good reason. The exception was for places like AusARMA.org that has a very brief locking to prevent mass server lag (10-20 seconds when several players join) You are not allowed to lock your server under the pretense of "testing", it's simply too open to abuse.

UK 117 BAN/ADMIN ABUSE
Graz (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
There wasn't a lot of subtlety in this O.o There seems to be a lot of support and similar claims, if more people report this thread will gain more traction. All you need is something like what Jason1 has! Rolling through a bunch of bases sucks, but it's not banworthy, hopefully you get some answers :) -
Boooooooooooooooo! I like the idea of more stuff to do. This is a sandbox so it shouldn't be more story oriented. More features and a little bit more danger would be great, as for a goal I'm strongly against it. The only goal I would like is character development of some kind, so survival is beneficial apart from epeen

Motherload of loot 20 tents, locations included
Graz (DayZ) replied to dannymo570's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
It doesn't matter, you have no proof. I'm not on the side of duping or hacking, but there is no evidence to state this wasn't a bug or legitimate. When you have something substantial you should post it, otherwise baseless accusations serve no purpose to the devs/moderators Taking down your server is not against the rules. This thread needs to stop grasping at straws if you want anyone to take it seriously, otherwise it's just another whine about people having more stuff than others. -
UK123 - Hacker giving out free stuff
Graz (DayZ) replied to Tzigtot's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I wouldn't bother getting high and mighty, gear is fairly meaningless in this game. You've got the stuff, you didn't cheat and it's all legitimate Dayz items. You'll most likely lose it at some point so there's no worries in stressing. Hacked-in vehicles do not save to servers AFAIK -
Motherload of loot 20 tents, locations included
Graz (DayZ) replied to dannymo570's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
How is this cheating???? Regardless, I'm not sure that everyone in the clan is cheating. It could easily be legitimate or server restart exploiting to dupe. To the people who are suffering from salem syndrome, not everyone who kills you is a hacker. I'm all up for shutting down this kind of thing, but where is the evidence apart from "yeah they have a lot of tents" You haven't even provided screen shots of the so called hacked weapons.... -
Admin Abuse/cheating and locking the server
Graz (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
A) Admin abuse =/= cheating B)This is the wrong forum for admin abuse C) There is no admin in your screenshot, they have *ADMIN* next to them The server restart doesn't seem to take place at the usual time for admin abuse. They lost the chopper, killed two of the attackers. If they did restart the server for chopper hoarding, it's a little pointless. 8 people can easily secure a chopper, especially if they are so heavily armed. Should you feel like pursing this properly, if might be wise to re-post in the "server reporting" seeing as you have no evidence nor made any accusations of cheating.
